Fanatics of the Magic Academy
Chapter 40 Mason
Rose decided to go to Kenneth to ask him about the basics of the remaining ring of magic and new spells.
He went to the supermarket, bought some fruit, and then headed to Kenneth's tent.
When Rose arrived there, she found a homeless man standing in front of Kenneth's tent.
The homeless man had messy brown hair and an unkempt beard, and he was wearing a coat that hadn't been washed in who knows how many years.
As soon as Rose arrived, the man turned to look at her.
Based on his experience in the slums these past few days, Rossai immediately determined that the homeless man did not use any enhancement drugs.
He was around 40 years old and in much better mental condition than the average homeless person.
Rose felt a sense of unease, and her mind began to rehearse in advance...
Rose suddenly realized that this person might not need magic; he could send him flying with an elbow strike simply by using his physical abilities.
But Rose remained vigilant and said to the man:
"Hello sir, I'm looking for Kenneth. Do you know him?"
The man turned to look at Rose, his eyes scanning her up and down, and then said:
"Yes, you're the kid Kenneth was talking about, right? You do seem very smart."
"As for Kenneth..."
He died of organ failure.
Rose remained vigilant, narrowing her eyes.
Seeing Luo Shao's wariness, the man shrugged and pointed inside the tent.
He then took two steps back, gesturing for Rose to come forward.
Rose walked up to the tent and looked inside.
Kenneth lay curled up motionless inside the tent, his hands clutching a pendant tightly.
Rose knew that the pendant contained a photo of Kenneth and his wife when they were young.
During the years Kenneth was homeless, he sold everything.
Spellbooks, wands, exquisite clothes, experimental records...
However, Kenneth has protected this pendant to this day.
Rose had been in contact with corpses these past few days, and the first time he saw Kenneth...
I knew he was already dead.
However, Rose still reached out and checked Kenneth's breathing.
She had completely stopped breathing, and her skin was ice-cold.
Such a former third-circle wizard, and the most dazzling researcher at the Lovelia Academy of Magic,
He died in the poorest slum in Lovillia.
He was a homeless man and a drug addict.
Rose fell silent for a moment.
He actually knew long ago that Kenneth was about to die, and he was often surprised that Kenneth wasn't dead yet.
But this was someone who had just yesterday instructed him in magic, explained the basics of runes, and told him to avoid being bullied.
Even seeing someone die right before his eyes still left Rose feeling terrible.
"call......"
Rose let out a long sigh, turned to look at the homeless man standing to the side, and said:
"Who are you? What are you doing here? Have you contacted the people who collect the bodies?"
The man waved his hand and said:
"I'm Kenneth's friend, you can call me Mason."
As for the group that collected the body, I haven't been able to contact them yet. I only just discovered Kenneth was dead.
"friend?"
Rose was a little confused. Did Kenneth have friends in the slums?
According to Rose's understanding, Kenneth, who was killed and sent to the slums, should be in a daze, spending his days consuming enhancement drugs.
Furthermore, Kenneth, whose body had already undergone a life leap and who was once a third-circle mage,
It's almost impossible to have a homeless friend in a slum.
Rose frowned, looking at the man named Mason with some suspicion. His mind raced, and he guessed:
"Were you once a magician?"
Mason waved his hand and said:
"No, I've been living as a homeless person since I was 18."
Then, he puffed out his chest and said:
"Newbie here? I've been a homeless person here for 30 years!"
That's pretty awesome.
Rose thought this person might have something wrong with their head, or maybe not, they were just a genius.
He warned:
"Then you can leave now."
Mason shrugged and said:
"Kid, you don't need to be so wary of me."
Do you intend to sell Kenneth's body and keep all the money for yourself?
Luo Raceway:
"No, Kenneth taught me a lot, and I don't want his body to be played with on a laboratory table."
I want to bury him.
Mason stepped forward, patted Rose on the back, and said:
"Hey kid, I knew Kenneth hadn't misjudged you."
"In that case, we share the same goal. I also want to bury Kenneth; after all, he's my friend."
Rose looked at Mason with some surprise, then he understood.
Rose knew Mason didn't use any enhancement drugs the moment she saw him.
Homeless people who use enhancement drugs are in completely different states from those who don't.
As a homeless man with no ties, he didn't have a great need for money.
Rose's gaze towards Mason gradually softened; he judged that Mason was most likely sincere.
Mason then added further:
"And do you even know where Kenneth is buried? And can you, a mere child, carry Kenneth? Even though Kenneth is already skin and bones."
Rossai had never considered this; the only place he could think of to bury someone was a park.
Mason said:
"I know there's a forest in the West End. Let's bury Kenneth there while it's still early."
Those with more experience and expertise know more about different areas.
Rose nodded, agreeing to let Mason travel with them:
"Yes, Mr. Mason."
Mason then carried Kenneth's body, with Rose following behind.
A short while later, Mason arrived at a house, placed Kenneth's body on the ground, and addressed the roadblock:
"You stay here and watch over things, I'll go borrow a shovel."
Then, Mason knocked on the door of the house, and a middle-aged man who looked like he had just woken up answered it.
Mason spoke with the middle-aged man for a while, and then the man turned and went into the room, took out a shovel and handed it to Mason.
After thanking him, Mason went to Rossellé and handed him the shovel.
"I'll carry Kenneth, and you take the shovel."
Rose nodded, picked up the shovel, which was probably too heavy for a typical six-year-old.
But this is not a problem for Rose.
Soon after, Mason and Rose arrived in the South District.
"Meow!!!"
Upon arriving in the South District, Rose suddenly heard a cat's hiss and scream.
Rose looked over and saw a homeless man punching and kicking a cat.
He had seen this kind of thing before.
Some homeless people are under a lot of pressure, and they use this method to release their stress.
After glancing at it, Rose looked away.
However, to Rosse's surprise, he actually saw a homeless woman there.
Rose had never seen a homeless woman in the South End...
Well, except for Tiana.
Rose refers to an adult female homeless person.
Rossado sized her up a few times. The homeless woman had numb eyes, tattered clothes, dry hair, and loose skin.
He looked numb, desperate, and on the verge of death.
Just as Rose was sizing her up, a rather burly homeless man next to him glared at her fiercely.
Rose then looked away, quickly realizing that the female homeless woman was dependent on the male homeless man.
Otherwise, it would be very difficult for a homeless woman to survive in the slums.
