Fanatics of the Magic Academy

Chapter 94 Dream Library

Rose lay on the bed flipping through books, but soon he stopped.

Even now, when I'm in a materialistic state, I have a strong learning ability.

However, having to consult a glossary every two sentences to understand their meaning greatly disrupts the learning rhythm and progress.

He's been watching for a full three hours, and the progress is still quite impressive.

Rose recalled that when Kenneth explained the basics of runes to him before, it wasn't that difficult at all.

In one afternoon, he not only finished explaining all the basic runes of the second-circle spell "Cyclic Fireball," but also went on to explain many other related magical knowledge.

Therefore, this shows the importance of going to school. Without the guidance of professional teachers, it is very difficult to learn on your own.

Now, Rose has no way to find a teacher to teach him the basics of runes, and he can only learn by himself.

Rose frowned; he felt that if things continued like this, he wouldn't be able to finish learning the magic before next Tuesday.

Rose thought for a moment, and he remembered that Gu Long had left him a "dream" and all the knowledge of Gu Long's followers.

He had previously speculated that this so-called dream might be able to perform time acceleration.

If he could really accelerate time to learn, he might actually be able to master the magic before the party.

Rose decided to see what was going on with the dream that Gu Long had left him.

Rose got out of bed, went to his backpack in the bedroom, opened it, and took out several cans of meat.

He ate the food haphazardly without heating it up, then found a comfortable angle to lie down on the bed and began a deep meditation.

Ancient dragon electricity surged within Rose's body, rapidly digesting the food he had just consumed, transforming it into pure energy that connected his mind and body.

Rose's consciousness was somewhat hazy, and she quickly entered a state similar to deep sleep.

Rose felt his body sinking and rising continuously, and he sensed a dream floating deep within his consciousness.

As he probed his senses into the dream, his consciousness instantly returned, and Rose found himself in the pure white space where he had previously communicated with Gu Long.

Rose was aware of her situation and had a very strange feeling.

He could clearly perceive his body lying in bed and had a certain awareness of the external situation. Moreover, he could find that he could escape this dream at any time. As long as there was any danger or change in the outside world, Rose could wake up instantly.

However, thanks to the Gu Long followers' own ability to grasp time, Rose discovered that the time his soul was experiencing was synchronized with the time his body was experiencing.

There was no sense of time misalignment as before.

Rose frowned. Was it because he didn't have enough authority?

No, that old man Gu Long is already dead. Now the entire dream should belong to Rose, and Rose should rightfully have the highest authority over this dream.

Rose turned to look at the spot where the ancient dragon had died. Part of the dragon's corpse had transformed into a stone tablet, inscribed with Rose's words spoken when he ascended to the rank of [Radiant Ancient Dragon Follower]: "This world shouldn't be like this."

Before he died, the ancient dragon told Rose that he could, like the first ancient dragon, freely transform his corpse into a new belief, and freely modify and add to it until the corpse was exhausted.

But so far, Rossai hasn't quite decided what to add to this.

Moreover, one problem is that Rose is now unable to promote his faith.

Because of Gu Long's clever trick, anyone who believes in Rose's faith will now grow golden vertical pupils. The Magic Federation is a country that has enshrined the slaughter of believers in its constitution. If someone were to spread their faith, they would be surrounded and kicked by a bunch of magicians the very next day.

After all, not everyone has Rose's trait—a fanatical materialist—which can be used to conceal one's identity as a believer.

Even if the physical transformation is limited to the eyes, and one can cover it up with colored contact lenses, it's still hard to guarantee that it won't be exposed.

Therefore, Rose intends to wait and see for the time being. If the time is not right and he is not strong enough, even if he promotes his faith, it will be useless.

Because he preaches that faith cannot provide the power of faith; preaching faith is about making the world a better place.

If preaching one's faith leads to severe persecution of those who follow one, it would contradict Rosetta's own beliefs.

It could even lead to the collapse of Rosetta's faith and ultimately to his death.

Rose pulled herself out of her reverie and continued to examine the dream.

Rose remembers Gu Long saying that He left Rose with all the knowledge and theoretical system of Gu Long's faith.

Where are these things?

Rose explored the dream for a while, and soon he found it. Not far from the ancient dragon's corpse, there were several rows of huge bookshelves, just like a huge library that existed in the dream.

Beneath these enormous bookshelves were two desks. One desk was piled high with books, while the other was empty except for a knob.

Rose walked over and discovered that the desk piled with books contained some of the books he had read in his previous life.

This includes online novels, classic works, social science books, and so on.

Among them, Rose also found several incomplete books, including "The Basic Theory and Rune Connection Method of the Second Ring General Perception Magic I [Perception Diffusion]" and "General Magic Terminology Handbook", which Rose had just not finished reading.

Rose gazed at the books, a question swirling in her mind: "Should I add them to the Dream Library?"

Rose didn't respond. He fiddled with it for a while longer and quickly figured out how to use the library.

This table with many books is for "collecting". Any book that Rose has read will appear on this table, and these books can be stored in this dream library.

The other table is for "studying." You can use this table to search all the books in the entire dream library, including the knowledge left behind by the ancient dragons and the books collected by Rose.

Furthermore, this search function can not only search for books, but also for knowledge, just like a large knowledge base.

When you encounter something you don't understand while reading a book, you can summarize the question and then search for it in the entire library.

Of course, it's not as intelligent as the AI of its predecessor; all it can do is search.

It can assist with reading and learning, and the knob for controlling the dream time is located on this table.

The highest time acceleration speed is currently 6 times, while the slowest is 0.4 times.

Yes, there's not only acceleration, but also deceleration, allowing Rose to spend 4 hours in the dream world while spending 10 hours in the outside world.

That's incredible!

Rose controlled the knob to adjust the time, starting from the default one time and gradually accelerating upwards. Rose felt a sense of dizziness.

The source of this dizziness is that Rose can simultaneously perceive the flow of time in both the body and the soul.

When the speed of time flow in the body and soul becomes out of sync, Rose will experience intense dizziness, similar to motion sickness.

Rose quickly adapted to the dizziness, because the Ancient Dragon Followers not only had a strong sense of time, but also seemed to have a strong ability to adapt to time.

Furthermore, as time accelerated, Rose noticed that the nutrients her body needed to maintain the Ancient Dragon Current were increasing, and the consumption of those nutrients was also accelerating.

If the ancient dragon current within him cannot sustain the state of [deep ancient dragon meditation], he will be kicked out of the dream.

Furthermore, this increase in consumption is not purely linear; maintaining a flow rate of twice the time requires three to four times more energy than maintaining one time rate.

Based on his assessment and calculations, Rossai estimated that, given his current physical condition, the level of the ancient dragon current within his body, and the nutritional value of the food he consumed, maintaining a flow rate of approximately 3.4 times the normal flow rate would be optimal.

Rose added all the books on the table in the "Collection" section to the library, and then went to the "Study" section.

He went to the table in the area to retrieve the two books he had just studied.

Then, a book containing information on [Perception Diffusion] and general magical terminology appeared on the table.

However, both books are incomplete.

It only contained the parts that Rose had seen before.

Rose wondered if the dream library's data collection function allowed Rose to collect data after just one reading, or if he needed to memorize the entire book.

Rose decided to give it a try.
