Chapter 103 The Meeting and the Uses of the Hero's Codex

Chapter 103 The Meeting and the Uses of the Hero's Codex

Louis had Colin sit on the back of his horse, and the group turned back.

It was only two o'clock in the afternoon when they successfully returned to the Blackrock Legion through the secret passage. Archmage Ignis was already waiting outside the passage.

"Senior brother, it's been a long time."

Ignis stepped forward and helped the emaciated Colin up, saying with emotion.

"Hmm—I never expected that so long after my death, I would still have the chance to bring back Molly's remains."

Colin didn't keep anyone in suspense; normally easygoing, he was unusually serious about this matter.

He said decisively, "I have a general plan to deal with Molly, but I lack an executor and someone willing to sacrifice. I hope there will be such a person in Blackrock City."

Ignis's expression was equally serious. He gestured and said, "Senior brother, let's go into the conference room to talk. Princess Erisil's team is also waiting there. They are very eager to meet you, their senior."

Is it Irisviel again?

Louis was surprised.

How is this related to Princess Erisil? Isn't she a Level 1 professional? Could she possibly be of help in the plan to deal with Hero Molly?

Upon hearing this, Colin made no attempt to hide his disgust, saying, "The moment they hear there's a chance to obtain the Hero's Codex, some people pounce on it like wild dogs smelling meat."

Ignis advised, "Senior brother, please don't say that. It's better to give Miss Molly's class-specific secret manual to Princess Erisil than to some incompetent people."

"I was her and Princess Anredo's magic mentor. I know her character. She is a true hero."

Hearing this conversation, Louis remained outwardly calm, but his heart was in turmoil.

Do those who have already become heroes still need the Hero's Manual?

Advanced human professionals also seem to have a special desire for the Hero's Codex.

Louis roughly understood why the fourth hero, Hiron, had died, and also understood how difficult his own situation would be—he was practically surrounded by wolves.

But what use is the Hero's Codex to these people?

Louis's thoughts raced, but just as he was lost in thought, Colin's next words abruptly pulled him back to reality.

"Since there's going to be a meeting, let my disciple go in and listen in too, Ignis. You shouldn't mind, right?"

""

Ignis smiled and said, "Of course not. Merry is my most beloved junior apprentice, and Nora is also just beginning to take human form. Now that they are professionals, they should also be exposed to more advanced knowledge."

He turned to Louis's squad and said, "Come with us."

Nora: "————"

Although the necromancer didn't speak, her murderous intent was impossible to hide.

Louis then gave Mr. Colin a deep look.

The fact that the other party brought their own team into the conference room was clearly not just to broaden their horizons.

Colin knew he was a hero, and by doing this, he was clearly giving himself a chance to compete with the third hero, Princess Erisil.

"Should I compete with Erisil for the ownership of the Class-Specific Codex within Molly the Hero?"

Louis murmured to himself.

He subconsciously touched his chest.

Two consecutive days of battling in the sewers have brought him closer to his goal of "saving 100,000 people," with progress now around 65%.

Once this great undertaking is completed, he only needs to max out all his attributes and obtain the level two class-specific manual to become a level two hero.

During this period, if one could obtain an additional Hero's Tome—it's unclear what role it would play.

While he was thinking, he followed in the footsteps of the two centenarians and entered a conference room in the main building of the Corps.

In the conference room, Louis was familiar with Princess Erisil, Princess Anreido, and Viscount Alwin.

However, they were not ranked high, because the huge conference table was already filled with powerful professionals.

Their combined pressure exerted immense strain on Louis and his companions, who were only level 1 professionals.

The three of them, including Erihill, seemed somewhat surprised by the arrival of Louis's team and gave them a second look.

Ignis didn't explain anything, but simply led them to the empty seats at the back of the conference table, right next to the third hero team who were sitting further back.

To Louis's left was the second princess, Henrietta.

The shy blonde girl seemed quite timid, and proactively moved her bottom to the other side, making room for half of the chair.

Louis glanced at the work clothes he still hadn't had time to change out of, and felt a little embarrassed.

With tight deadlines and heavy workloads, how could they possibly have time to go home and change clothes?

Even after traveling two hundred miles back and forth, and letting the wind blow away most of the sewer stench from his leather jacket, the bloodstains on it hadn't been cleaned off. As soon as he sat down, Louis could feel a strange smell emanating from his work clothes.

"I'm sorry, we just finished working and didn't have time to change. Please forgive us, Your Highness."

Louis offered an apology.

If possible, he didn't want to leave a bad reputation for being unkempt in front of outsiders.

"No—it's okay."

Although Louis only made a polite remark, Anredo answered seriously.

Seemingly feeling that a simple answer wasn't sincere enough, she shifted her position back, clutching her white dress tightly with both hands, and said softly, "I didn't mean to be disgusted—I'm just not used to getting too close to strangers."

Upon hearing this answer, Louis felt a surge of goodwill towards the second princess.

Compared to Erisil's self-centeredness and Alwin's inherent aristocratic arrogance, Princess Anridor seems to be the most approachable member of the third hero team.

However, they did not exchange any more words, as the meeting was about to begin.

Ignis invited Colin to sit in the main seat, while he himself sat to the left of Colin, and began his opening remarks in a deep voice: "The identity of the black-armored female demon who successively murdered Sir Calenno and Archdruid Iliam has been confirmed."

"She is not a demon, but a weapon of war created by the demons based on the remains of the previous hero, Molly."

"In order to bring back the hero's remains, and also for the sake of the overall defense of the city, I invited Molly's former teammate, my senior brother, Archmage Colin."

"He is the one among us who knows Molly the hero's weaknesses best. All our future strategies must be formulated with reference to Archmage Colin's guidance."

After saying that, he invited Colin, who was in the head seat, to speak.

Colin's strategy for Molly the Hero was largely the same as what he told Louis, only more detailed.

When the topic turned to the need for a level 3 professional to draw Molly's direct fire, everyone's eyes couldn't help but turn to one person on the conference table.

An orc.
