Douluo Continent: Huo Yuhao's Path of the Knights

As Huo Yuhao followed the hunter away from the town, he kept a record of the surrounding environment.

With his Spirit Eye Martial Soul, he possesses exceptional mental strength and can clearly remember the route he takes. If anything goes wrong, he can also return to the town by following the route he has memorized.

Huo Yuhao did not fully trust this hunter. He kept a close watch on him, holding the defensive soul tool given to him by Teacher Zhang in his left hand, ready to activate it at any time.

After all, you can know a person's face but not their heart; he couldn't be sure whether this seemingly honest hunter was plotting murder and robbery.

The two ventured deeper into the forest, where the trees grew increasingly dense. Just as they were about to enter the heart of the forest, the hunter suddenly stopped.

"Sir, the place ahead is where that green soul beast used to roam. I don't usually venture this far into the forest, but recently the number of soul beasts has decreased for some reason, so I have to take more risks to survive."

"However, it's quite dangerous to go any further. There are already some hundred-year-old soul beasts appearing. I'm not strong enough to follow you. If you're confident, you can go by yourself."

"No need, let's go back."

Huo Yuhao immediately shook his head and refused. He knew that although his strength had improved, he was still far inferior to the alien insects.

If it were a direct confrontation, without the soul tool his teacher gave him, let alone defeating the alien insects, even escaping would be a problem.

Therefore, he was only there to confirm the range of the Zerg's activity and did not intend to fight them.

"Alright, then I'll take you back, sir."

After saying this, the hunter turned and led the way, intending to take Huo Yuhao back.

Before the two could even move, a green figure suddenly attacked!

bang~

The moment the green figure attacked, Huo Yuhao immediately activated his defensive soul tool, and a spherical protective shield enveloped him and the Hunter.

The Zerg's attack landed on the shield, creating ripples, but it did not break through the shield.

"Be careful, sir! It's that green soul beast!"

Huo Yuhao stared intently at the strange creature with its dark green body. Unlike ordinary soul beasts, the alien insect could instill considerable fear just by looking at it.

Seeing that its attacks were ineffective, the green alien insect did not give up but continued its assault.

This can't go on; we must find a way to get rid of this alien insect!

Since there were two of them, escaping would be too troublesome, so Huo Yuhao preferred to deal with the alien insect here.

Huo Yuhao took out the level 4 soul guide ray gun and the level 4 soul power milk bottle that Teacher Zhang had prepared for him.

After attaching the soul power bottle to the ray gun, Huo Yuhao kept a close watch on the alien insects outside the protective shield, while instructing the hunter beside him:

"Mr. Hunter, I'll be there in a moment..."

However, Huo Yuhao had only spoken half of his sentence when he suddenly sensed something was wrong.

The sound of air being torn apart rang out inside the protective shield, and Huo Yuhao acted instantly the moment he sensed the danger.

The boy darted to the side, but he was still a step too slow.

The terrifying claws pierced Huo Yuhao's left arm, and the pain entered Huo Yuhao's mind. The boy's body trembled, and the soul tool in his left hand almost slipped out of his grasp.

Huo Yuhao gritted his teeth and gripped the defensive soul tool in his hand tightly. However, the next moment, a terrifying force landed on his left hand.

The boy could no longer hold onto the soul tool in his hand.

The moment the defensive soul tool was knocked away, the protective shield around him closed, and then the defensive soul tool flew to the ground in the distance.

At this moment, Huo Yuhao distanced himself from the hunter.

The boy, with a wounded left arm and a soul-guided ray gun in his right hand, faced the hunter and the alien insect.

After creating some distance, Huo Yuhao was able to see the hunter's true situation.

Although the opponent's body remained unchanged, its arms had transformed into sharp claws similar to those of the alien insects!

Immediately afterward, under Huo Yuhao's gaze, the hunter's figure changed on the spot, transforming directly into a strange insect!

That hunter was also a Zerg in disguise; the Zerg had actually regained its mimicry ability!

Damn it, I underestimated them again...

Since he encountered almost no clues about the alien insects along the way, Huo Yuhao subconsciously assumed that there was at most one alien insect when it appeared.

Therefore, Huo Yuhao only relaxed his vigilance towards the hunter after the first alien insect appeared.

But now is clearly not the time to think about these things; what he needs to do now is survive these two alien insects.

However, the current situation is very unfavorable to him. His defensive soul tool has been shot down, and it is uncertain whether the soul-guided beam in his hand can effectively damage them...

"We have no choice but to give it a shot!"

Unlike his previous encounter with the alien insects, Huo Yuhao now possesses the ability to fight back; he is no longer the boy who could only run away!

"Phew~"

Huo Yuhao took a deep breath, his bright eyes fixed on the two alien insects in front of him.

The two alien insects clearly didn't want to wait any longer. They brandished their sharp claws and charged at Huo Yuhao at the same time.

Huo Yuhao aimed his soul-guided ray at the nearest alien insect, and with the Spirit Eye Martial Soul aiming at it, the boy pulled the trigger.

huh~

A slender metal tube emitted a pure white beam of light, which pierced the air and struck the head of one of the alien insects.

The light didn't completely penetrate the insect's head, but it did blast a sizable crater from which a disgusting green liquid oozed out.

That soul-guided ray caused considerable damage to the alien insect, but it failed to kill it instantly. The alien insect, dragging its heavily injured body, struggled and continued to charge towards Huo Yuhao.

Seeing that his opponent had not been killed outright, Huo Yuhao had no choice but to deliver another blow.

Fortunately, after the Soul Guide Ray was fired, the heavily injured Zerg finally collapsed.

However, Huo Yuhao had only dealt with one alien insect. There was still another alien insect that he hadn't dealt with, and that alien insect had already come to him!

A terrifying claw with immense force stabbed towards Huo Yuhao's body, but Huo Yuhao, who was prepared, rolled to the side and narrowly avoided the attack.

The sharp claws grazed the boy's waist and pierced empty space. Even though it was just a graze, the burning pain still penetrated the boy's mind.

Despite the pain, Huo Yuhao quickly adjusted his body and aimed the muzzle of the soul-guided ray at the alien insect.

Whoosh~

Two whooshing sounds rang out as Huo Yuhao fired two consecutive soul-guided rays at the alien insect.

This time, however, due to the urgency, the target was not aimed at the head, resulting in the Zerg not being completely killed.

The dying insect lunged at Huo Yuhao, its terrifying body slamming violently into the boy.

Huo Yuhao was knocked to the ground, and at the same time he was knocked down, he fired another shot at the alien insect. After the shot, the soul guide ray gun fell to the side.

Then, the strange insect staggered a few steps toward Huo Yuhao and collapsed to the ground with a thud.

"Huff~ Huff~"

Huo Yuhao was panting heavily. He was in a terrible state, his left arm was covered in blood, his body was in great pain, and blood was seeping from the corner of his mouth.

"It's finally resolved."

Huo Yuhao struggled to his feet. He first took out the Knight's Belt from his spatial soul tool and put it on to relieve the pain in his body. Then he picked up the soul ray gun next to him.

"I never imagined that the Zerg could already mimic appearances, behaviors, and even memories... That's terrifying!"

Before the hunter revealed his true form, Huo Yuhao was completely unaware of anything unusual about him!

"The injury is quite serious; I need to get back quickly!"

Huo Yuhao, dragging his heavily injured body, was preparing to retrieve the defensive soul tool that had been knocked away, but before he could take a step, strange noises suddenly came from his surroundings.

The surrounding trees rustled, as if many creatures were moving together.

Upon seeing this scene, Huo Yuhao was startled, and a bad premonition subconsciously surfaced in his heart.

The boy's premonition was correct; the worst had happened, and strange insects began to appear in the forest surrounding Huo Yuhao.

One by one, terrifying green insects appeared around Huo Yuhao, eventually forming a circle that surrounded him in the center.
