After passing through one golden archway after another, the path deep inside the palace finally quieted down. The cheers and prayers outside were shut out by the thick doors, leaving only the sound of footsteps echoing in the corridors. Trajan led Leo and his party half a step ahead.

The atmosphere was as solemn as attending a wedding...

As the current commander of the Imperial Guard, Tula's cloak hung down steadily, his hand always resting on the guard's spear. He did not turn around, but his attention was always partly focused on Leo.

He looked at it very carefully.

It wasn't the curiosity of outsiders, nor the almost out-of-control fanaticism of a state religion, but rather a kind of scrutiny, a kind of confirmation.

He also knew about part of the Primarch Zero project.

Because part of Leo's body was once the life left behind by a royal guard who was dying. That guard was a truly excellent warrior, steady and loyal enough, and his monument still stands in a corner of the palace.

Trajan thought to himself, although they share the same name, this body is taller and heavier, and even the silence carries an added sense of oppression that only the Primarch possesses.

Killieman noticed his gaze.

He was just walking calmly forward, but Tula's gaze lingered on him for so long that he finally turned his head and spoke.

"Trajan, you've been watching him all this way."

Trajan then looked away.

Guilliman's tone was not harsh, but it carried a hint of teasing.

"What, even you're curious about my brother?"

Leo turned to look at the two of them, wanting to interject, but held back.

Trajan paused for a moment before speaking:

"I'm not just curious, I'm confirming."

Killieman's brow twitched slightly.

Trajan continued walking forward, his voice steady.

"Project Zero has always been strictly sealed, but the Emperor is not the only one in the Imperial Guard who knows about it. Although I did not exist 10,000 years ago, I know that it initially went out of control until it was later restarted."

He then looked at Leo again.

"I've heard of the deeds of that chosen Imperial Guard. He was loyal and resilient enough, and he fulfilled his duties in the Net, which is why he was chosen."

Guilliman turned and glanced at Leo, who was pretending to admire the scenery.

He already believed most of it, and Trajan was not the type to joke around, nor would he make random conclusions about the emperor's creations.

Trajan said, "This is the first time in the history of the Empire. His Majesty may have given you the same name in memory of the fallen Janissary."

Ok?

Leo came to his senses. It seemed that Trajan was unaware that although he had died, his soul had been reborn through his original body. However, the fewer people who knew, the better.

Leo then wore a somber expression. "His sacrifice is a loss to the entire empire, and I will forever remember him."

Killieman completely let go of his last remaining concerns, nodded, and turned to Leo.

"Then there are no more questions."

Leo felt a little uncomfortable under his gaze.

"Actually, you don't need to be so formal. I'm not used to it myself either."

Killieman, however, spoke seriously.

"The necessary confirmation is required, because you are not an ordinary soldier, you are the Primarch of the Empire."

He paused.

"Although you do not have your own legion, this will not affect the legitimacy of your Imperial Primarchy in the slightest. Anyone who tries to make an issue of this will be shut up by me."

Leo paused for a moment, then smiled.

Thank you.

After saying thank you, Leo's smile didn't last long.

Guilliman had noticed that Leo's expression had been off since the spaceport began, and it hadn't improved now that they were inside the palace, so he asked him a question.

"You haven't looked too good the whole way. Is the atmosphere in Terra putting too much pressure on you?"

Leo did not respond to Guilliman's concern, knowing that an apocalyptic war—the Battle of Lionsgate—would soon take place on Terra.

Khorne's eight high-ranking archmages led eighty-eight demon legions to invade Terra and threaten the throne. This is how the original history went.

However, under Leo's influence, Guilliman's expeditionary force arrived on Terra some time ahead of schedule, no longer following the normal timeline of history, so he didn't know how long until the Battle of Lionsgate would break out.

However, Leo was determined to send out the warning so that the Imperial Guards could prepare in advance.

"It's not pressure."

He paused for a moment, then recounted what he had sensed on the road.

"On my way here, I sensed something amiss. In the area near the palace, something is connected to those beings behind the curtain, and it seems to be escalating. If left unchecked, something big might happen."

"Especially now that the Star Torch has been extinguished, Terra is likely to be invaded by Chaos Demons."

Saint Celestine, who had been quietly following behind, immediately turned cold upon hearing these words.

"Such a thing actually happens right under the feet of the God Emperor."

Her voice wasn't loud, but her anger was clear.

"This is blasphemy!"

Leo nodded.

"And this didn't just happen; it must have been hidden for some time."

The group stopped in their tracks.

Guilliman looked at Leo in thought, his gaze gradually darkening. Terra was still in the midst of the Eternal Night Cataclysm, and anything could happen after the Star Torch was extinguished. If such infiltration had already occurred near the palace, then the priority could no longer be put on hold.

He should have gone to the throne first, no matter what; that was the most important thing for him after returning to Terra.

But now, another Primarch stands beside him, giving him an abundance of options, while a festering wound may be lurking beneath Terra's feet.

Guilliman looked up and made a decision.

"Let's not go to see the throne yet."

Seloustin looked at him without objection, and Trajan remained silent.

"Killiman looked at Leo and said."

"This matter takes priority. You are clearly better at handling issues related to these things, so I suggest you take charge of it. As for meeting the throne, I will not leave another Primarch in this situation to go alone."

The original Guilliman was not like this; he would not easily put anything before an audience with the Emperor.

Is this change due to the appearance of another Primarch?

The thought flashed through Leo's mind, but he didn't say it aloud and just nodded slightly.

"it is good."

Celestine bowed to Leo. "I will accompany you if needed."

After everyone agreed, they turned and headed outwards toward the Lion Gate directly in front of the palace.

"Then let's change course and go to Lionsgate."

On the way, Tula seemed to remember something and suddenly spoke.

"There's something I should tell you in advance."

Leo glanced at him, wondering if it was Lord Trajan about to open his box.

Trajan said:

"I gave orders to the Inquisition a long time ago to have the Holy Hammer Order send a group to Terra to study demons and infiltration. I also had them bring in a group of Grey Knights, just to prevent any potential problems. They should already be working in various parts of Terra by now."

Leo secretly breathed a sigh of relief; thank goodness.

Upon hearing this, Guilliman smiled at Trajan and said, "Well done." The praise was very direct.

Tula did not offer any humble words, but simply accepted calmly.

He was not one to back down in such matters; prevention was the duty of the Royal Guard. The Terra Council could be arrogant, but the Throne Guard remained loyal to their duty.

Leo didn't have much experience with this kind of thing, but thanks to Trajan, at least he wasn't completely unprepared.

.

.

Meanwhile, the situation was quite different at the Terra Council.

The hall was brightly lit, and the air was filled with the smell of incense and spittle. A group of high lords of the Empire were gathered around a long table, and their arguments had been going on ever since Leo and Guilliman arrived in Terra, and now they were getting louder and louder.

After the Emperor ascended the Golden Throne and secluded himself from the world, the High Lords, representing the Emperor's will, led all aspects of maintaining the human empire.

At this moment, the loudest argument was between two old men whose bodies were covered in mechanical prosthetics and whose ages were impossible to discern.

Pope Desius XXIII, the founder of the Church, slammed his hand on the table, the gold thread on his cuffs trembling. He was very old, but his voice was still loud and clear.

"Since this newly returned Primarch has such a direct connection with the God-Emperor, the State Religion must have the highest priority in interpretation and propagation, making the God-Emperor's eldest son the symbol of the State Religion. This is necessary to stabilize the people's hearts."

The court representative sitting opposite her, Cleopatra Ers, immediately sneered.

"The right of interpretation."

"Are you planning to include an Primarch directly in your sermons, making the Primarch your backer? Do you want to repeat the era of apostasy?!"

Desius's face turned red.

"This is a slander against the state religion."

Ers wouldn't give an inch.

"I'm reminding you that Primarchs are not icons, nor are they something that can be distributed simply by whoever grabs them first."

The high lords nearby were already starting to get a headache.

Some rubbed their temples, some pretended to look at documents, and others had only one thought in their minds: another Primarch had just returned, and before the Empire could even rejoice, the Terran Council had already begun scrambling to divide the spoils. This scene was so familiar it was sickeningly repulsive.

The argument continued, and the documents on the table were slammed and rattled.
