Warhammer: Primarch's Life from the Beginning

Chapter 21 Amidst a Multitude of Troops, the Enemy General's Head is Shot

The crimson thunderclouds dissipated from Terra's atmosphere, the blood-red hue fading along the sky to reveal the sunlight behind them.

The Imperial Guard's 10,000-man regiments broke up into smaller units, no longer united as one, but instead, like countless slender knives, they cut into various battle lines. Wherever there were hordes of demons, there were gleaming golden armors pressing down.

The guards thrust out their spears, piercing through armor, tearing limbs apart, and slicing the monsters that pounced from behind into pieces. Every second, countless demons were precisely dismembered.

Most of the Silent Sisters have been dispatched to various hives, and with their departure, the restraints on the Grey Knights have also been removed.

The silver-armored warriors finally ceased to restrain their psionic power; arcs of electricity crackled on their holy silver weapons, and wave after wave of demons disintegrated amidst howls. Under the relentless onslaught of these professional demon slayers, a section of the district they were responsible for was even forcibly carved out, and even the subsequent waves of monsters could not keep up with the pace of filling it.

Looking outwards from the palace perimeter, the battle lines are beginning to shrink towards the center, like a net being slowly tightened.

Even the Imperial Guard, those figures existing only in mortal legends, would glance at the center during lulls in the fighting, however brief. Primarchs, beings that most Imperial warriors only knew from icons, war songs, and ancient records, were now standing alive, fighting alongside them.

To witness the might of the Empire's highest fighting force firsthand, even if I die, would be worth the price of admission!

Then they saw a five-meter-tall demon being kicked back.

Leo is in that central area.

Golden light flowed back and forth along the spear shaft in his hand. The bloodthirsty madman standing opposite him was much taller, with his wings spread and his axe blade dragging on the ground.

It wasn't one of those lowly soldiers that could be easily burned to death; it was a true elite force thrown into the battlefield by Khorne. Its movements were very skillful; even while being constantly pressured by Leo, it continued to dismantle Leo's attacks.

Leo swung his spear at its shoulder and neck, but it immediately parried with its axe, twisting its waist to deflect the force, and then used its whip to wrap around the spear shaft, trying to deflect the weapon. Leo flipped his wrist, and the spear tip pierced its abdomen heavily. Golden light burned into the wound, and the demon retreated in pain, but at the same time its left leg swept out, forcing Leo to step back and avoid it.

This thing is definitely not something a normal soldier can handle.

Leo made this judgment in his mind, then his thoughts turned elsewhere.

The demon army outside the palace seemed to be the largest, but because of the presence of the Imperial Guard and himself, this was actually the place where he had the least to worry about. What Leo wanted to know most was the battle situation in other areas, especially how that unfortunate nest of the parachuted demon was doing.

Were all the soldiers and civilians inside killed?

Demons are truly despicable.

A surge of irritation rose within him, causing him to increase the force of his grip. He swung the spear horizontally, striking the behemoth in front of him with a scream, its breastplate and arm armor shattering in succession.

The Great Demon, who was engaged in a fierce battle with Leo, noticed that Leo was distracted.

Its suppressed rage surged, and with a shake of its axe, it deflected the spear and roared.

"Focus! Son of the False Emperor!!"

For it, this battle was an honor, and it could not tolerate its opponent being distracted.

Leo ignored its blasphemous words, and with a slanted thrust of its spear, sliced open one of its wing roots.

The demon swung its axe and smashed it, the ground exploded, and rubble and flesh were thrown up together. Leo dodged to the side and swung his spear back, striking the demon in the face, knocking its head to one side and spitting out a string of blood, which splattered onto the stone and corroded deep grooves.

But just then, another violent aura burst into the battlefield.

The other bloodthirsty monster watched anxiously, unable to suppress its impulse, and joined the battle.

It shoved aside several demons who couldn't dodge in time, smashed through the street with a few steps, and charged in, dragging its giant axe. The great demon whose armor had been shattered immediately began to curse and roar, as if blaming it for stealing its duel, but its body was quite honest, immediately cooperating by pressing forward from the front.

Two against one!

Leo was caught in the middle, but surprisingly, he felt a little calmer.

Okay, you're in a hurry, right?

A giant demon lashed out with its long whip, while another swung its massive axe diagonally. Leo parried the first with his spear, but the second struck his shoulder armor, sending him sliding to the side. Before he could regain his footing, the demon in front of him was already face-to-face, punching him in the faceplate. Leo raised his arm to block, but the internal systems of his power armor issued a pressure alarm, and the stone slab beneath his feet shattered.

Leo was sent flying by a punch, crashing into a pile of rubble. Half of the wall collapsed, and rubble covered his face.

Several State warriors in the distance saw this scene and were immediately enraged. They grabbed their chainsaw swords and tried to rush over to help, but were immediately held down by the nuns beside them.

"Hold the line!" the nun said through gritted teeth. She wanted to rush forward herself, but the enemy in front of her held her back, leaving her no room to divert her attention.

In fact, Leo was not injured at all.

He thought that once the war was over, he would set off on the path of redemption as soon as possible.

We can't just sit here and wait to die. Today it's Khorne, but Terra might be visited by some other evil god in the future. None of my brothers, including myself, would agree to that.

Guilliman probably felt the same way when he planned the expedition.

Leo didn't have that much time to have the pharmacist create gene seeds for him and mass-produce his offspring. Moreover, thinking about the brutal wars that would follow the chronology of the future, Leo felt both exhausted and somewhat expectant.

He wanted to try his best to turn the tide in those hopeless situations.

Since regaining his memories as a boy from his previous life, his personality has changed, and the gloomy and pessimistic Imperial Guard Leo seems to have disappeared.

The thought that he had never actually seen those alien races in his life, and that he had only heard about those places in stories from his previous life, filled Leo with a sense of curiosity.

He needs to find a way to get a ship.

"Bang."

Another punch came flying in.

Leo raised his arm to block the falling debris, pulling him back to reality. He looked up at the two uniquely ugly faces before him, feeling nothing but impatience.

"Are you ever going to stop?" he grinned and cursed. "Hurry up and finish this fight, then everyone go home. You guys get back to Khorne's side, I'm in a hurry to get back to my throne."

The two great demons exchanged a glance, then slammed their arms down at him.

In that instant, a surge of divine energy erupted from beneath the two great demons, carrying a powerful impact. Golden flames rushed up along the ground, burning their arms as they swung down, leaving flesh torn and bones exposed. The two monsters roared in pain, their movements involuntarily pausing for a moment.

Leo suddenly attacked.

He threw away the spear, spread his arms, and stretched out to both sides at the same time, his palms clamping down on the necks of the two great demons like iron hoops.

The immense force from his arm pressed them backward, and with a thud, a large section of the ground collapsed. Leo took advantage of the situation and stepped on them, pressing his feet firmly against their struggling, twisting chests.

Leo exerted force with his knees, waist, and shoulders simultaneously, and roared as he stared into the bloodthirsty demon's furious eyes.

The next moment, the sound of bones breaking clearly reached the ears of everyone around.

Leo ripped their heads off.

The Imperial Guards and Battle Sisters, who had finally broken through the demons' lines and arrived to provide support, were just getting close.

The final scene that came into view was Leo standing in a pool of blood, holding a huge head of a bloodthirsty monster in each hand, his two distorted faces still showing disbelief.

"By the Divine Emperor... my God..."

Leo looked down at the two heads in his hands, and golden light surged from his palm, shooting upwards like fire.

Then, the two heads exploded in his hands.
