Exiled Star.

The Holy Commandment slowed down and glided slowly along the tracks.

Looking down from the bridge, the planet's surface was a tapestry of deep green rainforests and gray-black swamps, half the sky was shrouded in thunderclouds, and the outlines of old fortifications and some buildings could be seen in parts of the landscape.

Leo had no recollection of this planet, but just to be on the safe side, he should go down and take a look for himself.

I wonder how Guilliman's Unyielding Expedition is going on Terra?

Well, why think so much? For now, we can only try our luck and hope that there is a family of navigators on this planet for him to recruit.

The crew behind him reported that the transport boat was ready.

Leo hummed in agreement, his gaze remaining fixed on the object.

But these planets with little intelligence were either destroyed and abandoned by the Empire's enemies, or they were kept in the dark by the Inquisition.

The Grey Knights' homeworld, Titan on Saturn's moon, is an example of this.

Kara was already standing behind him, her black power armor fastened tightly, with two squads of combat nuns lined up further back, inspecting their weapons. She walked past them one by one, her eyes sweeping over their gun barrels and chainsaws, her tone brief and without a single superfluous word.

Leo turned and walked out of the bridge, putting on his helmet.

"Prepare to land."

.

.

As the landing craft plunged into the atmosphere of Exile Star, a muffled thud was heard from its fuselage. Heavy rain pounded against the hull, lightning flashed outside the windows, and sand and dust scraped against the outer shell.

As the aircraft broke through the clouds, the scene below came into view. The setting sun sank into the distant water, the muddy swamp spewed out unknown debris, ancient trees were toppled in patches, scrapped metal structures lay across the water, and defensive towers half-submerged in the mud were still intermittently spewing out shells. Fires occasionally lit up in the forest.

"Enemy and friendly signals have been confirmed." Kara sat opposite, listening to the report from the Holy Commandment through her helmet. "The Exorcist Chapter's defensive line in the rainforest below has been breached."

Leo glanced outside.

The breached and destroyed bunkers, the front lines in direct confrontation.

This doesn't seem like the plundering style of space pirates.

The ground was getting closer and closer, and through the gaps in the branches, one could see the corpses of those loyal Space Marines on the communications line, their power armor painted red and their power backpacks black.

The Exorcist Chapter is fighting a fierce battle, and the Chaos Space Marines are still out of sight. The enemy is not charging recklessly, but is pressing the defensive line from multiple directions and drawing fire. One bunker has been blasted open by heavy artillery, and the trench behind it has been torn open.

Kara glanced at it, preparing to give the order.

Leo raised his hand to stop her.

"Don't go head-on." He pointed in a direction where the sensation was strongest. "We'll attack their rear directly."

The transport boat's propulsion was reignited, the aircraft turned in the air, its hull skimming past the treetops, and after a short distance, it plunged down, landing on a narrow clearing in the swamp.

Leo couldn't help but want to applaud the nun in the driver's seat—great skill!

Before the landing craft had even landed properly, it had already become a target for enemy forces on the ground. Explosive shells and lasers were already slamming into the armor, and the hatch opened automatically, letting in humid air and the smell of gunpowder.

The nuns remained silent, leaping out of the hatch to provide cover for the Primarch. Their boots kicked up mud and water as their black armor was quickly swallowed by gunfire.

Two nearby Astartes, seeing that the newcomers were just a group of mortals, sneered and pulled the trigger, sending the explosives hurtling away.

Leo snapped his fingers.

Bang bang bang!

The ammunition exploded in front of the nuns through the air, and a faint light shield surrounded them.

Immediately afterwards, the enemy saw a giant emerge from behind these mortals, and the giant kept looking in their direction.

Leo pointed in the direction of the sound, and an explosion came from behind the bushes. Blood splattered onto the ground, and pieces of flesh rolled at the feet of the battle nuns. The headless corpses of the two Chaos Space Marines hiding behind the trees fell to the ground.

"Follow me, charge into battle with me."

"yes!"

With a chorus of support behind him, Leo dashed into the swamp and remnant forest. The mud and water were knee-deep, and he could see the traitors' heavy firepower squads crouching behind several low bunkers.

Leo snapped a piece of rotten wood under his foot, exerted force with his thigh, and after a gust of wind, he had already crashed into the enemy formation.

As the front-row Chaos Space Marine turned around, his head and helmet were punched away, sending him tumbling into the puddle along with his weapon.

Leo bent down, gripped the heavy cannon's barrel, yanked up the machinery and dirt from the ground, and swung it violently. Another traitor operating the cannon was smashed into a bloody pulp before he could even utter a sound.

The people around finally reacted and raised their guns. Leo was already right in front of him, grabbing a Space Marine's waist armor with one hand. He roared and lifted the Marine above his head, smashing him into the metal partition at his feet, breaking him in two.

Some say the power gap between Primarchs and Space Marines is like the difference between Space Marines and ordinary humans.

The Primarch's power armor sensors continuously scan nearby creatures, marking red dots on the visor's display screen.

Leo was like a nail driven into the enemy's rear, leaving only severed limbs and overturned heavy weapons in his wake. He grabbed the traitor's leg and swung him around, whipping him at the nearby counterattackers with great force.

He could make out the enemy's features by the setting sun. They were all wearing red power armor, just like the defenders, but the signs of corruption on each of them were clearly visible. Their power armor was covered with horns and protrusions of various colors.

Their reaction was far beyond that of ordinary people. Explosive shells struck Leo's shoulder armor and chest, but were deflected by the superior armor. A taller Space Marine shouted.

"Who are you?!"

You have no right to know who I am.

Kara leaped out of the shadows, firing her explosive pistol incessantly to provide cover for the Primarch. Leo did not stop despite the enemy's attacks; he grabbed the Space Marine by the neck and pinched him to the side.

The traitor's arm suddenly extended, and his body beneath his armor had likely mutated into some kind of bird-like demon. He tried to press the gun against Leo's face and fire.

But it was too late. His head had already been ripped off Leo's shoulder, and blood splattered all over Leo's forearm. The traitor's arm also went limp and lifeless.

Golden flames immediately ignited on the Primarch's armor, incinerating the blood of the traitors.

Then Leo heard Kara scream. He turned and saw a wizard's hands surging with grey-blue psionic energy, enveloping Kara. Leo flung the traitor's corpse at him, striking the wizard in the shoulder. The wizard staggered, the psionic energy dissipating, and Kara, now free, raised her chainsaw sword, slicing diagonally from below into the wizard's armpit, tearing through his terracotta armor.

On the other side, the nuns blocked the Primarch's flanks. A traitor who tried to turn around to support the rear had just rushed out of the swamp when his helmet was blasted off by a gunshot, and two nuns next to him immediately hacked him down into the water with chainswords. Several other elite groups of soldiers who wanted to turn back from the causeway were also blocked by the nuns' explosive bombs and could not advance.

Under the combined attack from both sides, the enemy's rhythm was finally disrupted.

The Exorcist Legion also noticed the change. An Astartes sergeant wearing an old cloak charged out of the fortifications under heavy fire. Just as he was about to order his squad to counterattack, he discovered that the enemy's flank and rear had been cleared. Several heavy artillery positions were like they had been swept by a hurricane, with explosions one after another.

Seeing the unfavorable situation, the remaining Chaos Space Marines quickly withdrew from the battlefield.

The battle ended quickly, and many loyal Space Marines didn't even see the whole thing. When they arrived, all they saw was a giant in gleaming gold armor, much taller than them, standing amidst the corpses, with a dozen or so battle nuns behind him.

A Space Marine sergeant stepped forward, his armor covered in mud and blood.

"Thank you for your support, friends of the Empire." His gaze lingered on Leo's face for a long time. "Please state your identity."

Leo turned to him.

"Leo, the Primarch of the Empire."

The Space Marines opposite him were all stunned, their eyes fixed on Leo's face. The officer remained silent for a moment, clearly considering his words, but his tone remained wary.

"Primarch... This is not an identity that can be easily claimed."

Kara stood behind Leo, her gaze sweeping over him like ice.

"Watch your words." Her voice was not loud. "Standing before you is the son of the God-Emperor, the one who just repelled the enemy for you."

The Space Marines didn't argue, but the suspicion in their expressions didn't completely disappear. Finally, the officer raised his hand in an Imperial Eagle salute.

"We have all sworn to fight for the Emperor, my friends."

"We are happy to welcome you to the base." He paused, then added, "This place is not suitable for a long stay."

.

.

The group followed the warriors of the Exorcist Legion deep into the swamp.

Even through the helmet, you could smell the stench of decaying organisms in the air.

Soon, they arrived at a secluded spot where two tightly closed plastic steel doors stood between the mud and earth, like the opening of a cellar.

After passing through the gate, the group descended the stone steps, the only source of light being the torches burning on the walls on either side, until they finally arrived at their headquarters located underground in the swamp.

Maryfit Abbey.

The church, bunker, interrogation room, and armory were crammed together, with sealed iron doors on both sides of the corridor, where Astartes stood silent on guard.

Leo thought he had stumbled upon a vampire's lair.

Moreover, he could sense it ever since he arrived on this planet.

There are demons on this planet.

The Space Marine leading the way glanced back, as if noticing Leo's gaze, and then quickened his pace.
