Warhammer: Primarch's Life from the Beginning
Chapter 49 The Speed Freak
Warning Star, Wilderness.
The place where Leo and his group landed was not actually a plain; the open space where the transport ship was located was surrounded by several rocky hills.
Sicarius suggested using the terrain to create an ambush and annihilate the first wave of aliens to arrive.
This makes sense. The orc warband in the distance is neither too big nor too small, while their Ultramarines only number a few dozen, which is indeed consistent with Guilliman's Codex Astartes.
So Leo agreed.
.
The ground was shaking, signaling their arrival to those around them and that this was their territory.
Yellowish-brown dust swirled along the ground, spreading through the gap between the two giant stone pillars. Then, the first vehicle surged out—a war machine made of steel plates and chains, fitted with a few wheels and riddled with oblivious orcs. A row of spikes, stolen from somewhere, was driven off the front, and two heavy machine guns protruded from where the windows should have been. The machine gunners were huddled among the other orcs, and no one could be seen driving!
More vehicles burst from the dust and sped towards the rocky outcrops ahead. A large number of vehicles quickly converged, forming an arrowhead as they charged into the giant stone forest. They didn't care about formations, tactics, or even whether there was a road ahead.
Hundreds of meters away, Leo stood alone in the center of the clearing, his warriors nowhere to be seen. The Ultramarines were ready, the Battle Sisters lay in ambush behind the rocks, and Sicarius's hand remained on the hilt of his sword.
Every green-skinned man's face was beaming with ecstasy, for they saw a giant in golden armor standing in the open space ahead.
Some cunning orc clans might analyze the situation and consider whether it's a trap, but these speeders clearly don't have that kind of brain; waiting is pointless for them.
"Smash him!!" The orc leader's roar drowned out the engine noise.
Leo did not lie in ambush with the others; he chose to stay behind as bait.
He held the greatsword in his hand and looked at the psionic energy flowing on its blade. The radiance attached to it was now faint and transparent, unlike when it was in the warp.
"Is that all there is left?" Leo felt the sparse power within his body that he could resonate with. Clearly, after such a violent outburst, his power was still recovering.
I never imagined I was like a rechargeable battery, being used and recharged simultaneously.
But thinking about it, it makes sense. The Emperor did say that he could use a small portion of His power.
"A small part?" Leo thought of the nuclear-bomb-like destruction he had caused not long ago; that was already outrageous enough.
Now that Leo's body is completely drained, he experiences pain whenever he has the thought of using a large amount of spiritual energy. What is this? Is it the battery's protection mechanism, causing him to hurt himself as much as he hurts the enemy?
The impending impact was fast approaching.
Leo didn't dodge. He clenched his left fist and slammed it into the front of the oncoming vehicle. Like a will-o'-the-wisp motorcycle crashing into a concrete block on the side of the road, the entire vehicle broke apart and compressed instantly, and the orcs squeezed on it were thrown out and slammed into the surrounding rock walls.
The next second, the wreckage of the chariot was crushed and flattened by the rampaging army behind it, and the orcs inside were turned into a pile of meat patties before they could even crawl out.
Leo's greatsword slashed horizontally, the blade cutting through from the side, the enormous impact directly overturning the oncoming vehicle.
Several wrecked machines slowed down the speed demons' pace. Two armored vehicles rolled over the gravel, circling around Leo and soon surrounding him. The machine gunner on the vehicles had already pulled the trigger, and bullets flew sparsely, striking Leo's power armor with a clanging sound and scattering sparks.
Leo stepped forward, his left hand reaching directly into the barrage of bullets to grab the barrel of a gun that was still firing. The steel deformed in his hand, and with a backhand tug, the weapon, along with two machine gun buddies, was flung off. Leo turned and slammed into the armored vehicle on the other side.
boom! !
The entire vehicle overturned, and the green-skinned men spun twice in mid-air before dying from the impact that came hurtling from behind.
After passing the collapsed obstacles, more abandoned green vehicles surged in from all directions, wielding machetes, iron pipes, and even orcs wielding safety bars they had just broken off, swarming over them.
The behemoth in front of them not only destroyed their vehicles but also beat them to a pulp, but instead of backing down, these orcs roared with even greater excitement!
The boss was right, this trip was definitely worthwhile!
Then the swarm of green fleshy lumps was blasted away by an unreasonable psionic shockwave, and Leo gave orders to those around him.
"superior!"
Most of the orcs in this warband have been drawn here, making it a good opportunity for the warriors to launch an attack.
At a single command, the ambush troops were all deployed.
Sicarius leaped from behind the rocky hill on the left, his power sword flashing a brilliant blue arc as he landed, slicing into the neck of the nearest orc. His terracotta-clad knee crushed the green-skinned man's sternum, and using the recoil, he sidestepped a falling cleaver, cleaving the orc in two from shoulder to rib with a backhand strike.
Leo's voice came through the communication channel, "Surround them! Don't let these aliens escape!"
The Ultramarines converged from three sides, operating according to the Codex Astartes, cooperating with each other and avoiding individual combat. Two or three warriors formed a pincer movement, one using a bomb gun to suppress the front, another wielding a chainsword to guard the flanks. The Orcs, brandishing their weapons, charged towards the canned beasts, only to be met with a dense barrage of bombs.
The first row of green-skinned soldiers were torn to pieces in the explosion, while the second row, stepping over the corpses of their comrades, rushed forward only to be swallowed up by the roar of the chainsaw sword.
The pocket formation is tightening.
At the other rocky hilltop, the battle nuns, armed with heavy weapons, used molten metal and flamethrowers to cover the entire killing zone from above. The holy sea of fire poured into the dense horde of beasts, sending them back to the two gods of the Gou Mao.
"God-King, bear witness to me! Purify these aliens!" Kara's battle cry came from above, her explosive gun firing in bursts through the crowd, tearing open the skulls of orcs one by one.
Leo trudged through the green-skinned creatures, smashing the fanatical aliens in front of him, searching for something.
He knew that every group of orcs had a leader. Orcs had their own unique psionic stance, and the more they thought their leader was powerful, the more powerful the leader became. As more and more orcs joined in this thought, the more domineering and powerful the leader became!
A stronger leader will also give back a stronger psionic field to his orcs, making these greenskins as a whole stronger and stronger.
Therefore, some Space Marines who specialize in eliminating aliens, such as the Deathwatch, will specifically target the leaders of each wave of Orks to carry out decapitation strikes. Once the leader dies, the psionic field is weakened, and these Orks scatter like birds.
Oh, found it.
Leo saw a huge garbage truck parked in the crowd not far away. It was at least twice as tall as the armored vehicle next to it, and a large orc stood on the roof, waving a mechanical claw.
He charged straight at the green-skinned leader, and the big monster also sensed Leo approaching from the side.
It thought this was a duel between the leaders, so it jumped down, grabbed the mechanical claw on its arm, and charged towards Leo.
But it didn't see how the big, golden-armored creature appeared in front of it in a flash.
The orc leader had just leaped off the garbage truck and landed heavily on the ground. His body came to a stop, but his vision continued to fall, followed by a thud.
Leo beheaded the orc leader who jumped down from mid-air with a single sword strike.
