Saint Celestine sped over the crowd, her golden wings fluttering with a divine glow with each flap.

The tremor suddenly disappeared, and the expeditionary force soldiers, freed from the psychic restraint, fell from mid-air.

Then she discovered that the nauseating warp magic that had been permeating the top of the crater had suddenly begun to dissipate.

Saint Celestine stopped and saw the scene: Magnus's massive face was contorted with rage, his enormous single eye staring incredulously at his abdomen, the Emperor's Sword deeply embedded in his flesh, the flames of the sword burning the remains of the demonic Primarch.

Goodbye, brother.

The speaker was Robert Killieman.

Without the slightest hesitation, Guilliman let out a low growl, and his heavy shoulder armor slammed into Magnus's chest. This strike, imbued with the Primarch's full power, forcefully propelled the massive crimson shell through the crumbling net gate behind him.

Just before Magnus plunged into darkness, Guilliman drew the Emperor's Sword with a sudden burst of speed.

The Imperial Flame erupted completely within Magnus, and his tattered demonic body could no longer maintain its physical form, causing the chaotic warp energy to spiral out of control.

boom!

With a muffled bang, the entire portal collapsed in the violent impact. When the dust settled, only a huge charred crater and some remaining energy debris remained on the moon.

The Primarch has disappeared.

.

Guilliman once wrote in the Astartes that evil must be eradicated completely.

Defeating the enemy is never the end. You must pursue them, crush them, and make sure they can never come back.

So even as the aftershocks of the explosion still lingered on the lunar surface and the smoke and dust in front of the Netway Gate had not yet completely settled, Guilliman remained vigilant, sword in hand.

Killieman did not relax.

Destruction? No.

That kind of thing doesn't just disappear. It must still be alive, just retreated, hidden away in some shadowy place, continuing to weave new schemes. It will wait, observe, and then pounce again.

Cheers from the survivors could already be heard over the communication channel.

"For the Primarch!"

"For the Lord of Humanity!"

The Ultramarines, the Black Templars, and the surviving auxiliary soldiers were all cheering in the channel. The traitor front on the moon had completely collapsed, and the puppets without command were being eliminated one by one by the enraged expeditionary force.

Sir Carius, the commander of Killieman's honor guard, rushed to Killieman's side with several apothecaries.

After the pharmacist performed basic medical treatment, Killieman slowly approached Leo.

Saint Celestine landed beside Leo first. She folded her wings, knelt down, and placed her fair hand on Leo's heavy, gleaming gold breastplate.

The stranger lay in the pit, looking somewhat disheveled, but breathing steadily.

Killieman didn't stop her; could this be some kind of psychic detection, like that of a think tank? He speculated.

A moment later, Sellersteen withdrew his hand, stood up, and nodded to Killieman.

"He and you are both Primarchs, and the light just now did indeed originate from the God-Emperor."

"Thank you, Sellersteen." Killieman expressed his gratitude to the living saint who had helped him all along, and then fell into deep thought.

Above the moon, the Glory of Macragge, a Queen of Glory-class battleship, was abandoned by Guilliman before the expeditionary force entered the Webpath, then hijacked, and finally reclaimed by the Ultramarines.

Now she has finally led her massive fleet to catch up with the main force and reached near-lunar orbit. Her majestic body blocks out the light and casts a huge shadow.

Guilliman ordered the entire fleet to return to their ships for rest. Looking at the still unconscious Leo, he said to Sicarius, "Take him to my flagship. His wounds need treatment, and I have some things I want to confirm with him after he wakes up."

Leo felt as if he had fallen into a long dream.

In a blur, the surrounding light and shadow distort and recombine, transforming into a phantom scene.

There is a school building from Leo's previous life.

There was no sound of gunfire, no screams of demons, the air carried the scent of damp earth after rain, and the faint sound of whistles from the parade ground could be heard, but in reality, there was no one else around.

There were only two figures sitting on the edge of the rooftop.

A boy wearing a baggy school uniform and looking like a delinquent—that was Leo before he transmigrated.

After opening his eyes, Leo turned his head to look at the side, where a boy dressed in a linen robe was sitting not far from him.

His face was very handsome, his skin had a healthy bronze color, his long black hair hung down his back, and his eyes were as clear as an ancient spring.

This is a mix-up, isn't it? Is the Emperor cosplaying as Lu Mingze?

Leo's voice trembled slightly as he asked the question.

"I...died again?"

The seated black-haired boy turned his head and gave him a faint smile. It was the Emperor, or rather, the manifestation of this spiritual energy.

+It's not that easy. You're the Primarch now, Leo. The Emperor's voice was soft, yet it carried a power that calmed the soul.

Leo shifted his position closer to the Emperor and looked out at the peaceful world beyond the rooftop.

"This is your world of memories," the Emperor seemed to read his mind. "I love this place. The world you came from is truly beautiful. There are no whispers of the warp; humanity only needs to think about how to live happier lives."

Leo was silent for a moment before asking, "You helped me on the moon just now?"

The Emperor gazed into the distance, "The spiritual energy that remained within you was originally a barrier I created to protect you from the corruption of evil gods during your millennia-long slumber. It was activated when you faced Magnus."

+A small amount of lingering spiritual energy remains within you; that's me, the one speaking to you now. Once it dissipates, I will cease to exist.+

Leo was shocked, suddenly realizing that he had wasted an incredible divine object.

"Don't make that face," the Emperor chuckled, patting his shoulder. "With your current potential, that little bit of residual psionic energy is really nothing."

Speaking of potential, Leo thought of Ryan and Corax, whose Primarchs proved that they were essentially some kind of lesser gods in human form.

"Your Majesty, is my essence... also something you 'stole' from the warp?"

The emperor looked up triumphantly and snorted. It seemed that this spiritual energy had even learned his own personality from his youth.

"I no longer make deals with those things," the Emperor turned his head, "The essence within you originates from me; I separated a part of myself and implanted it into your body."

Leo froze, instinctively touching his face, forgetting that he was a child too.

"No wonder that Primarch looks so much like you... So, does that mean I can freely absorb warp energy and become as powerful as you?"

"You wish!" The Emperor tapped Leo on the forehead with his knuckles without any hesitation.

Leo instinctively covered his head and cried out in pain; the sensation was terrifyingly real.

"This is the path I've chosen for you," the Emperor's expression turned serious. "To make you aware of the danger, I must tell you the truth. Under the fervent faith of the Empire's people for millennia, my original form, left on the Golden Throne, has been distorted beyond recognition."

That force is too immense; it's expanding wildly and has begun to backfire, eroding my humanity. If it's allowed to continue, whatever I become, it will be a disaster for humanity.

Leo swallowed hard.

"So, Primarch Zero can help you share this burden?"

"Smart," the Emperor nodded. "Part of your purpose is to share the burden of faith power with my true self. It will continuously converge on you, and if you cannot bear it, then..."

The emperor raised his hands and made a loud "bang!" sound.

Leo gripped the rooftop railing nervously.

"How much longer can I live?"

"Don't worry, it won't be that fast," the Emperor reassured him, punching the air as he spoke.

+You are my most satisfying work; you can last a long time, and you can unleash it on your enemies.+

Leo recalled his battle with Magnus and was speechless.

"But I didn't feel anything at all during the fight! I almost got flattened by that troll."

The emperor paused for a moment, then stared intently into Leo's eyes for a long time.

"Oops!" The Emperor suddenly looked up and slapped his forehead, a look of sudden realization on his face. "I forgot to unlock it for you!"

Leo was so angry he wanted to jump up and complain.

But before he could speak, the young emperor before him began to become transparent. Golden powder scattered from his fingertips, merging into the afterglow of the setting sun.

"Sorry, I've already 'allowed' you to use a small portion of my power," the Emperor's voice grew distant. "The future holds many difficulties; that kid Guilliman won't be able to handle it. Perhaps I'll have to consider awakening another one."

But those children all have their limitations. Whether the Empire can lead humanity to forge its own path depends on you.

This spiritual energy had reached its limit, and the young emperor's body completely disintegrated.

I'm so happy for this little while, Leo. It's been such a long, long time... since I've had a normal conversation with someone like this.

The golden light vanished like a bubble.

The illusion of the campus then distorted and turned into darkness.
