I am the Demon King of the Dungeon!

Chapter 13: Lava Pterosaur

No entry?

Arthas never expected that the departure of the Lava Wyvern would indirectly lead to so many troubles.

My own territory has been sealed off.

They had to pretend to be bystanders.

Arthas's feelings were as bitter as if he had just eaten a bite of pure, rich chocolate.

He withdrew his gaze and looked at the adventurers gathered at the entrance, their expressions varied. Some were arguing with guild members, hands on their hips; some were leaning against the wall watching the show; and a few were huddled together whispering amongst themselves.

Then, I saw three familiar figures.

The round-faced youth squatted on the floor, picked up a stone from somewhere, and idly drew circles on the ground; the female archer leaned quietly against the wall, arms crossed, eyes closed, resting; the man with the greatsword was chatting with several adventurers.

Are they stuck here too?

Ryan pressed, "So, we came all this way for nothing?"

The short-haired woman replied without changing her expression, "This is the guild's rule. If you have any objections, you can fill out a complaint form."

She pointed to the wooden box next to her, which was already stuffed with crumpled paper; clearly, the small complaint box could not contain her anger.

Hearing the noise, the round-faced youth looked up and saw Arthas: "King Renn?"

He paused for a moment, then strode over, lowered his voice, and asked, "You really came?"

Renn patted his chest confidently and said, "I told you we could!"

The female archer also came closer and said, "Impressive, she can even defeat a necromancer while leading a newbie."

In the world of adventurers, level is the simplest way to measure strength, because the higher the level, the more benefits you can get, and no one would deliberately not level up.

Therefore, Arthas was considered a newbie.

"So, what should we do now?" Renn knew Arthas was no novice, but he didn't know why Arthas was hiding his strength, so he deliberately changed the subject and turned to look at the entrance to the third floor.

"What else can we do?" The round-faced youth shrugged. "The guild won't let us in, and forcing our way in isn't an option. We can only go back to Graystone Town, resupply, and get our equipment appraised while we're at it."

"I second that," the female archer nodded.

"I second that." Arthas raised his hand; all he wanted now was to leave his dungeon as quickly as possible. "I didn't expect the boss to disappear..."

Renn looked at Oris, and Oris nodded slightly.

"Let's go together then, it'll be good to have company on the journey."

After agreeing on their plan, the group began to walk towards the stone steps.

Arthas followed at the back of the group, his fingers twitching slightly in his sleeve. Several extremely fine magical threads floated from his fingertips and silently landed on the hems of the clothes of the people in front of him.

The silk threads slowly intertwined in my hand to form cards, each of the five cards representing a different person.

Life Card.

Once the card is formed, Arthas can sense the life force of the other party within a radius of a hundred miles.

……

Fiery Canyon, Level 5.

The lava pterosaur lay in the lava pool, resting its chin on the rocks beside the pool, idly swishing its tail.

Its new work environment is actually not bad.

Although the Fiery Canyon is only a medium-to-low-sized dungeon, it is purely fire-based, and its temperature is 30% higher than that of Dark Hemkas, making it very comfortable to be inside.

Moreover, as the top-level BOSS, he doesn't face a large flow of adventurers, only two or three waves a day, so his workload is only one-fifth of what it used to be.

Logically speaking, one should be very satisfied.

But the Lava Pterosaur felt that something was wrong.

"Brother Long! Brother Long!"

"Adventurers are here! Boss! Adventurers are here!"

The little fire salamander scrambled over, leaving a charred mark on the ground with its round body.

"So what if they're here?" Lava Pterosaur yawned, not even looking up. "Let them fight my son first."

"Now you're the only one left..."

"What?"

The little salamander paced anxiously in circles: "You, you should go out... They won't leave because they can't get through. They won't leave, so they keep waiting, and I can't go home..."

"What does it matter to me when you get off work?"

"I can only clean up the site after I'm done fighting!" the little fire lizard said helplessly. "After cleaning up, I have to write a report, and only after I finish writing the report can I submit it to operations, and only after operations approves it can I go home..."

The lava pterosaur raised its eyelids and glanced at the little fire lizard. The words "report," "review," and "off work" reminded it of a place it didn't really want to remember.

"Alright, alright."

The Lava Wyvern sighed and trudged heavily toward the boss room, thinking as it went—

Back in Dark Hemcas, with over a dozen waves of adventurers a day, I was constantly on the go, but it didn't seem this annoying. Now that things are much more relaxed, I actually don't want to do anything...

Inside the BOSS room.

Three adventurers were squatting on the ground playing cards.

Upon seeing the Lava Wyvern enter, the three of them stood up in unison and frantically drew their weapons.

"Here it comes!"

"Prepare for battle!"

"Wait, where's my shield?!"

The Lava Pterosaur stood in the center of the room, looking down at the three trembling humans in front of it.

Bronze level.

All three are bronze level.

In the past, adventurers of this level wouldn't even be able to reach the door of the third level, as they would have been instantly killed by the necromancers on the second level. However, the difficulty curve of the Fiery Canyon is relatively gentle, and the first three levels are basically for beginners to level up.

The lava pterosaur yawned and casually spat out a fireball. The fireball grazed the heads of the three of them, exploded against the wall, and rubble rained down.

The three adventurers huddled together in fear.

"B-Big brother! It looks really fierce!"

"Nonsense! This is the boss of the fifth floor!"

"Should we run away?"

"Why are you running away! We're already here!"

The Lava Wyvern stared at the humans discussing whether to fight or run, and suddenly felt it was all pointless. It remembered that back in Dark Hemkas, the adventurers who came to the third floor were all silver-level. They had excellent teamwork and experienced fighting styles, and sometimes they could even cause it some trouble. After the fight, regardless of winning or losing, at least it had a sense of "combat".

What now?

It doesn't even need to be serious; a couple of breaths of fire are enough to scare people away. If it encounters a few slightly stronger ones, it just needs to breathe fire a few more times.

boring……

The lava pterosaur impatiently flicked its tail and sent the three adventurers flying with a single breath.

The BOSS room fell silent instantly.

The Lava Wyvern lay back down on the ground, a thought flashing through its mind: it seemed to miss Dark Hemkas a little.

And there's the Demon King.

The Demon King who hatched it from an egg, watched it grow, and made it the BOSS.

Thinking this, the lava pterosaur rolled over and covered its eyes with its claws: "No, no, don't think like that. The wages are low and the work is grueling..."

The little fire salamander peeked in cautiously and asked tentatively, "Brother Long? Are you alright?"

"Very good."

"Then, shall I start cleaning up the venue?"

"Keep it."

The little fire lizard deftly cleared away the rubble, glancing at the lava pterosaur's expression as it did so.

"Brother Long..."

"What's wrong now?"

Are you unhappy?

The lava pterosaur remained silent for a moment.

"no."

"But you barely fought today, and then you just blasted the adventurer away... Isn't that a bit much?"

"Too lazy to type."

"You said the same thing yesterday."

"..."

"The day before yesterday too."

The lava pterosaur sat bolt upright, its eyes blazing as it glared at the little fire lizard: "Do you want to be roasted alive?"

"I was wrong! I was wrong! I was wrong!"

"Never mind, it's not your fault."

"I just... find this place boring."

"Boring?" The little fire lizard cautiously poked its head out of its shell. "But isn't the pay higher here than before? Less work, better benefits..."

The Lava Pterosaur interrupted, "You don't understand. It seems that some things can't be solved just by having a high salary."

The little salamander blinked, clearly not understanding.
