I am the Demon King of the Dungeon!
Chapter 36: The Orc Tribe
Upon hearing this, Dracula snapped his fingers.
The air in the center of the conference table began to distort, light and shadow condensed, and a clear picture gradually emerged: at the entrance of the nineteenth floor, five figures were sitting together, seemingly discussing something.
"Image magic?" Piri tilted his head, asking curiously, "Uncle Dracula, when did you learn that?"
"The magic book I won in last year's annual party raffle," Dracula pushed up his glasses. "Third prize."
"A raffle at the company's annual party?" Bloodhoof's eyes widened. "How come I didn't know?"
"Because you drank too much at last year's company party and slept on the table the whole time," Scarlet Dream said softly, picking up her glass. "In the end, they had to carry you home, don't you remember?"
Bloodhoof scratched his head, a rare look of embarrassment on his face: "I... I was just happy..."
"Quiet."
Arthas tapped the table.
All eyes were focused on the video.
In the scene, the members of the Oracle Squad are resting.
Paladin Alicia sat on the ground, her long golden hair hanging down from behind her helmet. She held some dry rations in her hand and chewed them slowly. Her silver armor was covered in scars.
"Oh my, this paladin girl is quite pretty." Scarlet Dream said, resting her chin on her hand. "She has fair skin and regular features, but her expression is too cold."
"You're never focusing on the right things," Bernea said calmly. "Focus on something else."
"They're resting, what else can I be paying attention to? Her sword?" Scarlet Dream rolled her eyes. "Sister Bernea, have you been single for too long?"
Bernea's long leg stretched out silently and gently poked Scarlet Dream's calf.
"Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! I'm sorry!"
……
The Oracle Squad's rest period has ended.
"leave."
Alicia stood up, brushed the crumbs of dry rations off her hands, and put her helmet back on. Her long golden hair was hidden inside her silver armor, leaving only her light blue eyes visible.
The five people passed through the entrance, and suddenly the view opened up before them.
The overall space of the nineteenth floor is more spacious than any of the previous eighteen floors.
The sun was high in the sky, and before me stretched an endless grassland.
"The nineteenth floor is the orc tribe..." The Frost Archmage Richie's temperament was as cold as ice, and his voice was as calm as water as water. "According to intelligence, there are seven tribes on this floor, and each tribe has a chieftain. After defeating the seven chieftains, the orc hero will be summoned. He is the real BOSS."
"Seven orc tribes?" Berserker Logan grinned, carrying his giant hammer. "That's going to kill quite a few."
"The number of regular monsters is between two hundred and four hundred," Richie added. "Elite monsters make up about 20% of them, and it's expected to take two days to complete."
Druid Avira stood at the back of the group, her dark green eyes scanning the dimly lit passage, her hands tucked into her sleeves, her fingertips gleaming with a faint green light.
"They're here."
No sooner had the words been spoken than a deep roar came from afar.
A dozen orc warriors galloped across the grassland, each wielding a variety of weapons. Their dark green skin gleamed in the sunlight. Their running style was more like that of wild beasts than humans, with all fours on the ground and incredible explosive power. In the blink of an eye, they were almost upon us.
The three orcs at the front were wearing fine iron armor and were a size larger than ordinary orcs.
Orc Warrior Captain, Elite Monster.
"Formation one." Alicia raised her shield, ready to withstand the first wave of attack.
The orc warrior captain's battle axe struck the shield, sparks flying, but her body remained motionless, though a small patch of grass beneath her feet was cracked.
Logan swung his giant hammer. Three orc warriors were sent flying, the sound of bones shattering clearly audible.
"Too weak! Too weak!"
Logan laughed and charged forward.
"Don't chase too far." Avira's voice drifted from the back of the group, as light as the wind, but Logan paused, abruptly stopping in his tracks.
The figure of the ranger Sylvia darted across the grassland, moving as fast as a silver lightning bolt. She didn't run in a straight line, but rather in a zigzag pattern.
The arrow shot from an incredible angle, and before the orc archer could even draw his bow, it pierced his throat.
Richie stood still, his staff tapping lightly.
Frost spread across the grassland, crawling along the ground like ice crystal snakes, freezing the orc warriors' ankles.
"Save your mana," Alicia said without turning her head. "We can handle the mobs."
"That's enough," Richie's voice remained calm.
Avira didn't intervene. As a healer, she stood at the back of the group, her eyes fixed on the battlefield. She could clearly see where people were injured and where they needed support.
Currently, no one needs it.
The first wave of orc warriors all fell.
The second wave of orc warriors charged forward immediately, even more numerous, including several female orc warriors who were more robust than the male orcs and wielded cleavers in one hand.
"Hey, these female orcs are really ugly." Logan smashed one of them away with his hammer. "Lady Scarlet Dream is much prettier. I must see the real deal this time."
In the throne room.
Scarlet Dream raised an eyebrow: "Oh, this berserker has quite the eye."
"What are you so happy about?" Bernea said casually. "He wasn't praising you."
"He's complimenting me!"
"Is he a monster?"
"Of course not."
"What does his aesthetic sense have to do with you?"
Scarlet Dream opened her mouth, but found that she seemed unable to refute it, so she picked up her wine glass and took a swig.
……
The battle on the grassland lasted for ten minutes.
It wasn't that they couldn't defeat them, it was that the orcs came wave after wave, as if they could never be killed. Every time one wave was cleared, a new wave would appear at the edge of the grassland, roaring and charging over.
Logan's breathing became heavy, and beads of sweat appeared on his forehead; Sylvia's quiver emptied once, and she quickly replenished it during the break; Richie, in order to conserve his magic power, did not cast any spells with a wider range.
Alicia's shield had more than a dozen new dents, but she didn't back down an inch.
"Avira".
"Know."
Avi stretched out her hand, palm facing up, and a ball of green light slowly rose and floated above the group.
Wow!
The green sphere exploded, transforming into countless tiny green specks that scattered like fireflies.
Each point of light that falls on my body brings a warm power, relieving fatigue, soothing my muscles, and even making my breathing much easier.
The healing spell "Tranquility" continuously restores stamina within its area of effect, and minor injuries will heal automatically.
"Phew!" Logan took a deep breath, feeling like he'd just woken up. "How long can this thing last?"
"It depends," Avira explained. "The longer it goes on, the more magic I consume."
"Then what are we waiting for?"
Logan shouldered the giant hammer and charged into the depths of the grassland.
……
Seven tribes are distributed in a ring on the grassland.
The first tribe was "Bloodaxe," with a flagpole at the entrance bearing a blood-stained battle axe banner.
The tribal chieftain was a huge orc, holding a double-edged battle axe in each hand, standing by the campfire in the center of the camp, surrounded by a dozen orc warrior captains.
"Intruders!" Chief Bloodaxe roared, "How dare you trespass on Bloodaxe tribe territory!"
"kill."
Alicia only said one word.
Logan charged in first, his giant hammer clearing a path and smashing away the orc warriors blocking his way; Sylvia jumped onto the fence and fired down from above; Aldrich erected an ice wall at the camp entrance, blocking the orcs' retreat.
Avira stood behind Alicia, maintaining the serene effect, green light emanating from her palms.
Bloodaxe Chieftain brought down his twin axes, and Alicia raised her shield to block. Sparks flew, and the impact was several times greater than that of an ordinary orc warrior. The force of the blow made her arm go numb.
"Logan, switch hands!"
Logan charged forward, the giant hammer clashing with the double axes with a dull thud. The two exchanged blows more than a dozen times, and the Blood Axe Chieftain began to stagger.
"Looks like my hammer is heavier than your axe!" Logan slammed his hammer into the Bloodaxe Chieftain's chest.
Chief Bloodaxe was sent flying backward and crashed to the ground.
Sylvia's arrow pierced the Bloodaxe Chieftain's head.
First tribe, conquered.
Alicia asked, "How long will it take?"
Richie glanced at his pocket watch and replied, "Ten minutes."
The five of them did not rest.
They headed straight for the second tribe.
In the throne room.
Pirion's mouth was open, and he couldn't close it for a long time.
"A tribe can be wiped out in ten minutes?"
"An adventurer party with a healer certainly has strong endurance," Bernea said, adjusting her glasses. "They don't need to rest; they can finish the fight and leave immediately."
"And that tranquility continues," the skeleton whispered hoarsely and slowly. "Look at that green dot of light, still floating above their heads. It's been at least half an hour since they finished fighting the orc warriors on the plains."
"A half-hour group heal?" Bloodhoof's eyes widened. "That druid's mana is limitless?"
"It's not infinite." Scarlet Dream became serious for once. "It's that her control over magic is precise enough that every bit of magic is used effectively without any waste."
Arthas didn't speak; he stared at the green-robed woman running at the back of the group on the screen.
Avira Stormwind.
It seems that this druid is the most difficult opponent in the entire Oracle Squad.
