Wizard: I Have a World of the Dead
059: The New Undead
Raboul Pass, the Wasteland of Bones.
"Clatter, clatter, clatter!" The rapid sound of hooves pounded on the cracked wasteland like a sudden downpour, raising clouds of dust. A chariot of the dead sped along under the blood moon, tearing through this land that had been silent for countless years.
This is a magnificent yet cold-blooded black carriage.
The spacious carriage was cast from shadow stone and some kind of black metal, and its surface was covered with twisted runes. As it sped along, the runes flickered on and off, as if they were breathing.
The chariot was pulled by six white bone warhorses.
The warhorses had exceptionally large bones, each one being half a head taller than ordinary warhorses. Their frames were broad and thick, their limbs like iron pillars, and their hooves sent sparks flying when they stepped on the ground.
Their entire bodies were engulfed in eerie blue flames, which seeped from their bones, leaving six long streaks of light under the blood moon.
Most surprisingly, each warhorse had a broken horn on its forehead; some were broken in half, some were covered in cracks, and some were just a bony base.
This is Mordred the Dark Wizard's fourth magical creation—
Modify the unicorn.
Name: Undead Unicorn Warhorse (Modified Creature - Swarm)
Class: Undead Beastmaster
Level: LV18 (Advanced Apprentice)
Attributes: Strength 14.2, Agility 18.6, Constitution 13.5, Spirit 28.3
Skills: Speed Boost (max), Death Ray (lv2), Phosphorus Stomp (max), Cluster Coordination (max).
Mordred obtained a small vial of unicorn blood cells and, using the world's strongest warhorse, the Highland Warhorse, as a template, attempted to recreate this legendary and rare magical life form.
Unfortunately, the experiment failed even after the blood cells were exhausted. The soul of the Highland Warhorse was simply unable to bear the spiritual energy of the unicorn and collapsed directly.
Surprisingly, after the world was destroyed, these experimental subjects, who had been carelessly discarded in the corner of the dungeon, came back to life under the control of the will to die.
The soul cannot bear it, but the will to die does not need the soul to sustain it.
Even more surprisingly, the divine attribute was completely eroded and transformed by the laws of death, and instead fully integrated with the dark elements, allowing Mordred's magical experiment to be completed in such an absurd way.
The carriage sped along, and about two miles from the Rabul Pass, a military position came into view.
"Screech—" Six warhorses pulled on their hooves at the same time, their hooves carving six deep furrows in the wasteland, splashing up a cloud of bone fragments, and the carriage came to a steady stop.
"Click." The car door opened.
Lin Qi got out of the carriage.
His cloak of wisdom fluttered wildly in the wind, while his wand of wisdom hovered quietly beside him, the pale blue stone at the top of the wand contrasting strangely with the crimson of the blood moon.
He raised his head and looked around at the positions in front of him.
The sight before him made him nod in satisfaction.
On the wasteland, crisscrossing ditches have been dug along several low hills ahead.
The bottom of the ditch was filled with spikes taken from the dungeon, each one gleaming with a dark purple enchanted sheen, enough to pierce the defenses of a mid-level knight.
A bright green, corrosive solution flowed between the spikes, bubbling and emitting a pungent odor.
Embedded in the walls of the trench were fragments of Shadow Stone, which glowed eerily in the darkness. These were magical means used to reinforce the trench walls and prevent them from collapsing.
On the hill behind, magical arrow towers have been built up using bones and stones.
The arrow towers were not tall, but their bases were thick, their walls were covered with runes, and the platforms at the top of the towers had firing ports.
Each arrow tower is topped with a magic cannon, the barrel of which is a composite of shadow stone and fine steel, and the cannon body is engraved with dense energy storage runes, with the muzzle pointed towards the Labour Pass.
These are all war facilities built based on blueprints found in Stormwind. Each magic cannon contains powerful magical energy, with a power level of several tens of degrees.
One shot is enough to blast an area of undead into dust.
"Not bad." Lin Qi withdrew his gaze, a slight smile playing on his lips.
He opened the system panel and made a few operations on it. Invisible commands were transmitted to distant places through the mental link.
A short while later—
"Click click click!"
"Da da!"
The sound of bones rubbing together and heavy footsteps came from behind, and a large group of undead walked towards them.
Leading the way was Diego. He wore dark gray plate armor, his greatsword slung across his back, his steps firm and resolute, the golden-red flames in his eye sockets burning steadily under the blood moon.
Behind him stood Thor Wilson, his three-meter-tall frame resembling a moving iron tower, his hammer dragging on the ground, carving a deep furrow.
Next to Thor was Grom. The cyborg's stone body gleamed with a cold, greyish-white light under the blood moon. The ballistae on his back were fully loaded, and the winches at his waist creaked.
Beside Grom stood Cerberus, the three-headed dog, its three wolf heads swaying side by side, icy blue air and orange sparks alternately spewing from the nostrils of the two heads.
Behind the three-headed dog followed three different undead, these were Mordred's last three works.
They look similar, with the heads of cows and the bodies of humans.
Minotaur.
Before its destruction, the undead world was not inhabited by only humans; orcs, elves, dwarves, giants... diverse civilizations once coexisted on this land.
The three minotaurs in front of us are members of the orc tribe.
They are much larger than humans, with broad shoulders and thick backs, and their entire bodies are covered with short, gray-black fur.
The head is a typical bull's head, with a broad skull, a prominent snout, and curved horns extending from both sides of the forehead, with fine runes engraved on the horns.
Their hands have three thick fingers with thick, black nails that look like iron hooks.
These three minotaurs were triplets, and they possessed a rare trait from birth—
Flesh and blood regeneration.
Their bodies can heal at an extraordinary speed after being injured, a trait that is extremely rare even among orcs.
Mordred saw this potential and captured them to modify them, implanting more regenerative runes and hardened tissue into their bodies in an attempt to create living shields that would never fall.
After the modification, they did indeed become almost indestructible, and could recover at a visible speed even when injured.
Lin Qi opened the system panel and glanced at their data:
Name: The Three Bull-Headed Brothers.
Class: Orc Warrior
Level: LV18
Attributes: Strength 18.6, Agility 12.3, Constitution 35.8
Skills: Flesh Regeneration max, Iron Wall Defense max, Trample Impact max, Horn Pierce max.
A 35.8-year-old's physique!
It is equivalent to 36 times the vitality of an ordinary person.
These three minotaurs standing together form three moving city walls.
Behind the three minotaurs was a whole row of dungeon skeletons, a total of eighteen.
They wore leather helmets and armor of elite imperial soldiers swept from the dungeons, wielded rusted short swords, and the green flames in their eye sockets flickered in unison, like a line of silent guards.
Dominate the Undead LV9.
After this period of reflection, Lynch's Undead Control skill leveled up again, increasing the maximum number of undead he could control to twenty-five.
One hero, seven BOSS-level modified creatures, and eighteen dungeon skeletons.
These are all the combat units he has at this moment.
As for the lich... the lich's attack range is limited, and it has too little room to play a role in such offensive and defensive battles. Lin Qi arranged for them to lie dead in the graveyard.
Anyway, with Cerberus around, it completely outclasses Skeleton in both stats and skill mechanics, so it's optional.
When we were conquering all sides, we called them Lich Beasts, but now that new talents have replaced the old, they're just skeletons.
Lin Qi had no moral compass whatsoever when it came to undead servants.
As his gaze swept over the undead legion, Lin Qi's sharpness intensified.
In the distance, behind the collapsed city wall, lay a sea of hundreds of thousands of undead—densely packed, their green flames like a vast ocean.
Beyond this group of undead, one can see an endless expanse of ruins in the distance.
But Lin Qi knew that countless treasures were buried in that devastated land.
A wider territory, higher-ranking undead servants, more advanced magical equipment, and more precious magical knowledge...
Materials, potions, and witchcraft tools!
The Bone Wasteland is just a small part of the undead world, a starting village in the game. Only by truly conquering it can one be considered to have truly entered this world.
Once you break through it, you can enter a wider world!
At that time, Lynch's overall strength will be elevated to another level.
A surge of fighting spirit ignited in Lin Qi's eyes.
He raised his hand and waved it forward.
"Let's go," his voice wasn't loud, but it was exceptionally clear in the silent wasteland, "Let's go and level this pass."
