Primordial Salted Fish: Starting from Refusing to Join the Demon Clan

Chapter 67 Dividing Purple Qi to Determine the Saintly Position

Time flows by silently, and in the blink of an eye, nearly three thousand years have quietly passed.

To be precise, this sermon took place 2,990 years ago, and only 10 years remain before the three-thousand-year mark.

For a quasi-saint cultivator who has already glimpsed some of the Daoist principles, this long period of time is but a fleeting moment, passing in the blink of an eye.

They were immersed in the profound principles of the Great Dao, filled with reluctance, hoping that the Dao Ancestor Hongjun would never stop preaching the Dao forever.

But for those Great Immortals whose cultivation is still shallow and who have difficulty comprehending the true meaning of the Great Dao, every day is a torment, and they truly feel that each day is like a year.

Finally, amidst the turmoil of the crowd, Hongjun slowly ceased his sermon.

Since the beginning of time, Hongjun ascended to Zixiao Palace three times to preach, a total of nine thousand years.

With the completion of the three lectures, the transmission of the Heavenly Dao was accomplished, and Hongjun thus firmly established himself as the Dao Ancestor, revered by all spirits, and worthy of being called the teacher of Heaven and Earth.

What followed was a scene destined to be recorded in the annals of ancient history.

He bestowed upon the Primordial Purple Qi, gifted upon the Primordial Spiritual Treasures, and even the Dao Ancestor merged with the Dao and returned to Heaven!

"This sermon is now concluded. If any of you have any doubts about the Great Way, please feel free to speak them."

Hongjun sat high on the altar of Zixiao Palace, his body radiating Daoist energy. His face was indifferent and expressionless, devoid of joy or sorrow, just like the unchanging Heavenly Dao itself, looking down at the thousands of cultivators below.

Upon hearing this, the Supreme Celestial Venerable of the Great Purity immediately rose, bowed deeply in reverence, and asked in a deep voice, "May I ask, Master, what method do cultivators in the world use to attain the Primordial Dao?"

His question instantly stirred the emotions of all the cultivators below the stage. Everyone held their breath and focused their attention on Hongjun on the altar.

Previously, the Daoist patriarch's teachings on the Great Dao were profound and mysterious, and the vast majority of people failed to fully comprehend them.

Taiqing's question perfectly captured the confusion in the hearts of all the cultivators present.

"There are three thousand Great Daos, and each one can lead to enlightenment. If you can devote yourselves to studying and comprehending them, and understand their origins, you can all attain the position of Primordial Saint."

Hongjun spoke calmly, but his words left the cultivators bewildered. Such a vague statement was tantamount to not providing an answer at all.

Before anyone could ponder further, Hongjun changed the subject and spoke again: "In my view, there are three paths to enlightenment."

"Firstly, prove the Way through force."

"In the past, the great god Pangu created the world and created all things in the primordial chaos. His actions were to prove the Dao through force."

"However, this path is against the will of Heaven and extremely dangerous. The great god Pangu eventually perished and left the world. Whether this method can achieve perfect enlightenment is still unknown."

Upon hearing this, Kunpeng, hidden among the crowd, sneered inwardly.

The Great God Pangu's attainment was a Great Dao that transcends the Primordial Chaos and is eternal. How could it be compared to ordinary methods of attaining the Dao? Hongjun's statement is far too biased.

However, the cultivators below the stage were unaware of the truth, and the flame of hope that had just ignited in their hearts—to emulate Pangu and prove the Dao through force—was instantly extinguished.

Even the great god Pangu, who created the world, perished and his Dao disappeared. Even the Dao Ancestor said that this path was unpredictable. Everyone was immediately uneasy and dared not have such thoughts again.

"Secondly, one must sever the three corpses to attain enlightenment."

"This is the path I created, which involves severing one's good self, evil self, and ego, stripping away worldly attachments, eliminating the seven emotions and six desires, and bringing one's mind infinitely close to the impartial and selfless state of the Heavenly Dao, so that one can attain enlightenment and become a Primordial Saint."

Hongjun paused slightly, a hint of arrogance flashing in his eyes, and continued, "This is the path I follow, and this method of severing the three corpses to attain enlightenment was created by me personally!"

The self-satisfaction in his words was self-evident. The great author Qiuyuzhongdeyiye has joined the platform with his new work, "Primordial Salted Fish: Starting from Refusing to Join the Demon Clan"! It seems to be proclaiming that the path to enlightenment that Pangu could not complete has been perfected by him.

Only Kunpeng, who knew the secret, remained silent, feeling that Hongjun's words were truly an attempt to build glory for himself.

Upon hearing this, the Supreme Lord of Morality and Justice's eyes flashed with a sharp light.

This was a smooth path personally created by the Dao Ancestor, and one that had already been successfully established. It was far more reliable than proving the Dao through force, which was unknown. He immediately made up his mind to follow the Dao Ancestor in this life and walk the path of severing the three corpses to prove the Dao.

The other cultivators listening to the teachings below the stage, except for Kunpeng, all felt a longing for it.

Living beings are naturally inclined to seek advantage and avoid harm. Compared to a perilous path with an uncertain future, the Great Way, which has already been proven to be feasible, is the first choice in everyone's heart.

Thirdly, merit and virtue prove one's path.

"By blessing their bodies with immeasurable heavenly merits, they can cleanse themselves with the power of merits, break through the shackles of cultivation, and directly attain the realm of a Primordial Saint."

"However, the merit required for this method is vast and boundless, and only those who have made unparalleled contributions to the primordial world can achieve this merit."

Hongjun explained the three methods of attaining enlightenment in detail, and then said no more, allowing the cultivators below the stage to calmly digest this earth-shattering secret.

A moment later, Shangqing Lingbao Tianzun could not contain himself any longer and bowed to ask, "May I ask, Master, what is the way to sever the three corpses?" He was drawn to this method and eager to know its mysteries.

"The Three Corpses are the three great obsessions of living beings: good thoughts, evil thoughts, and self-obsession."

"If one can sever these three entanglements with the supreme Dao heart, and then entrust the three corpses with innate spiritual treasures, one can directly reach the Primordial Saint Realm when the three corpses unite and the mind becomes clear in the future."

Hongjun spoke frankly and without reservation, explaining the method of severing the three corpses in great detail.

Upon hearing this, the Jade Pure Primordial Heavenly Venerable immediately bowed and solemnly thanked the Dao Ancestor for his grace in transmitting the Dao.

Immediately afterwards, the Jade Pure Primordial Heavenly Venerable spoke again, asking, "Teacher, among the myriad beings in the world, can everyone attain the Dao and become a Primordial Saint?"

In his mind, living beings are distinguished by bloodline and aptitude, and not everyone has the destiny to attain enlightenment.

Hongjun smiled slightly and said calmly, "The Heavenly Dao has been determined, and there are only six Saintly positions."

After speaking, he raised his hand and took out seven streams of primordial purple energy from his sleeve, each containing endless mysteries of the Heavenly Dao. The purple energy rose, radiating countless rays of light, and the entire Zixiao Palace was enveloped by this sacred aura.

"This is the Primordial Purple Qi, the fundamental basis for attaining sainthood."

"You three Pure Ones are the transformations of the primordial spirit of the great god Pangu. You possess unparalleled merit in creating the world and are in harmony with the Dao. You are destined to become saints."

As soon as he finished speaking, three streams of primordial purple energy flew out and landed precisely in the Three Pure Ones' sea of consciousness, merging into their true spirits.

The three brothers were immediately thrilled and overjoyed.

The Dao Ancestor personally promised them the position of sainthood and bestowed upon them the primordial purple qi, the foundation for sainthood. Their attainment of sainthood was already a foregone conclusion!

"Nuwa will have unparalleled merits in the future to protect the prehistoric world, and she will also be able to attain sainthood."

Nuwa was overjoyed upon hearing this. She turned around and smiled at Fuxi behind her, her heart filled with happiness.

"Houtu can become a saint."

"The Path of Reception has a deep connection with the Western Land and will make great contributions to the West, and may also attain enlightenment."

Hongjun spoke in turn, bestowing three streams of Primordial Purple Qi upon Houtu and Jieyin respectively, which were then integrated into their seas of consciousness.

Thus, the six holy positions were established, and the six paths of primordial purple energy each returned to their respective masters.

The cultivators below the stage suddenly realized that the six futons in Zixiao Palace had already determined the ownership of the six holy positions.
