From Beggar to Emperor: My Profession Has Its Own Characteristics

Chapter 72 The Useless Demon

Steward Ji did not leave.

He was watching from the sidelines.

The more he looked, the more surprised he became.

Zhu Yuan's movements were not only fast, but also extremely precise. If one didn't know Zhu Yuan well, one would think that Zhu Yuan had been a butcher since birth.

He even checked the meat and bones that Zhu Yuan had cut.

Absolutely perfect!

There are two types of managers at slaughterhouses: one type knows nothing about slaughtering and is basically just there to collect wages; the other type is like him, who used to be a butcher.

When it comes to being a butcher, Steward Ji is no less capable than Zhao Dazhu.

"Old Zhao has stumbled upon a treasure."

After the verification, Steward Ji looked at Zhu Yuan with eyes full of admiration.

Having a butcher like that working for you, even if it's just a short-term job, can give you a lot of face in front of some managers.

These managers all used to be butchers.

As for those who had never been butchers' supervisors, they didn't care about this at all.

Over time.

Steward Ji didn't leave, because he found it very pleasing to watch Zhu Yuanqian's clean and efficient dismemberment, with its smooth and flowing movements.

Later on, Steward Ji's gaze towards Zhu Yuan became strange.

"Zhu Yuan".

Manager Ji stood by and watched for a long time before finally unable to resist calling out.

"Manager Ji, what's wrong?"

Upon hearing the sound, Zhu Yuan didn't even raise his head. The sharp knife in his hand continued to precisely slice through the pig's joints without pausing for a moment.

He still looked very focused, as if he were completely immersed in his work.

"Aren't you tired? Aren't your hands sore?"

Manager Ji looked at Zhu Yuan's incredibly steady hands with surprise in his eyes.

A long time has passed now. If he had done this for so long, his arms and wrists would have been sore and aching by now. But Zhu Yuan's movements not only didn't slow down, but seemed to become more and more fluid.

"It's alright, practicing martial arts is what's tiring." Zhu Yuan slowed his movements slightly and glanced at Steward Ji.

He was telling the truth. Practicing basic knife skills requires a higher level of coordination and power from the whole body, which is much more difficult than the mechanical and repetitive dismemberment work we are doing now.

"You're really efficient," Manager Ji exclaimed sincerely, his gaze sweeping back and forth over the neatly stacked pieces of meat and bones in front of Zhu Yuan.

"We must be worthy of this salary."

As Zhu Yuan spoke, he made another slash with the sharp knife in his hand, accurately removing a piece of hind leg meat.

Upon hearing this, Steward Ji's face showed a mixture of amusement and exasperation.

"Then you really deserve this salary."

Given Zhu Yuan's exceptionally high work efficiency, he certainly had the right to demand higher wages.

This is practically equivalent to two ordinary butchers in terms of skill.

When Zhu Yuan had almost finished cutting and sorting the last pig in front of him, he finally stopped cutting, let out a long sigh, put the knife aside, and gently moved his wrists and fingers.

Although he desperately wanted to gain experience as the killer and unlock the killer's third trait as soon as possible, he was not made of iron and needed to rest properly.

Faced with Zhu Yuan's insistence on not stopping to rest until all the work was finished, Manager Ji was at a loss for words.

Not long after, seeing that Zhu Yuan's breathing had calmed down and he seemed to have recovered almost completely, Steward Ji thought of something and took a few steps forward.

"Zhu Yuan, besides pigs, do you also butcher other livestock?"

"Not for now." Zhu Yuan shook his head upon hearing this, but then he confidently added, "However, with pig slaughtering as a foundation, mastering the handling of other livestock should be a piece of cake for me."

"Yes, that's the confidence I'm looking for." Manager Ji nodded in satisfaction. He admired the young man's self-awareness and composure. "Once you've rested enough, I'll teach you."

"Thank you very much, Steward Ji." Zhu Yuan smiled and thanked him sincerely.

Subsequently, under the guidance of the experienced butcher, Manager Ji, Zhu Yuan successfully learned the techniques and key points of butchering common livestock such as cattle and sheep.

In fact, with the added benefit of the "Eye of Dissection," Zhu Yuan felt that cutting these animals would be simple, given their skeletal structure and muscle texture. Even without Steward Ji's guidance, he could probably master it after a few tries.

However, guidance from an experienced person can undoubtedly help him get started faster and avoid unnecessary waste.

Occupation: Butcher Level: Lv3 (165/2000)

Zhu Yuan was very satisfied with the experience he gained working at the slaughterhouse.

If you can work a full afternoon at the slaughterhouse, you might gain 200 experience points.

Two hundred experience points in one afternoon, two thousand experience points in ten afternoons, enough to upgrade his Butcher class from level three to level four.

Ancient books show that different experiences were gained from dismembering different animals.

I wonder how much experience I can gain from dismembering a worthless demon?

Because his second professional trait has been unlocked, he doesn't gain much experience when Steward Ji imparts knowledge to him. If he knew nothing about it, he would gain much more experience.

"Zhu Yuan".

Upon hearing his name called, Zhu Yuan immediately stood up.

"Manager Ji."

"Here is your wages."

"Why is it 150 coins?" Zhu Yuan asked as he took the money.

"You can do the work of two people, so your wages are naturally higher," Manager Ji said matter-of-factly.

"Thank you, Steward Ji."

Zhu Yuan directly expressed his gratitude.

If there's no manager behind the slaughterhouse, even if he gets in, he can't possibly earn 50% more in wages.

Even if the slaughterhouse pays him 50% more, it still makes a profit, but it can make even more money if it doesn't pay him.

"Manager Ji, can you arrange that livestock slaughtering job for me?" Zhu Yuan asked, then gave his reason, "I want to practice."

Killing enemies grants 30% of the experience, making it the fastest way to gain experience as a killer.

Upon hearing this, Manager Ji quickly gave a reply, clearly indicating that Zhao Dazhu had also mentioned this matter to him.

"When it comes to slaughtering livestock, it usually starts in the morning, when there is the most work and the most concentrated activity."

"If you want to do it, you have to come in the morning."

"No problem." Zhu Yuan nodded without hesitation.

"Alright, it's settled then." Manager Ji waved his hand. "Remember to be on time tomorrow morning."

"Yes, Manager Ji," Zhu Yuan replied, then bid farewell to Manager Ji and turned to leave the slaughterhouse, already making plans for tomorrow.

Time flies, and it's already the morning of New Year's Eve.

Today, Zhu Yuan finally managed to kill the worthless demon he had been longing for.
