A priest in North America, what the hell is the Demon Gate system?
Chapter 57 Gnom and Druades
"Wait!! I—" Before Fenneus could finish speaking, Leon's hand had already moved.
Li Ang did not condense the bloodthirsty energy into a powerful bloodthirsty finger; instead, he simply transformed it into a wisp of air.
It's not destructive, but it carries a burning and stimulating energy wave, like the finest brush rubbing against the skin at high speed.
"Eeya—!!!"
Furneus shuddered violently; had Leon not been holding her ankle, she would have collapsed to the ground.
Her silver hair swung, her bright red eyes instantly filled with tears, her toes curled tightly inside her stockings, her calf muscles were taut and straight, and her other leg kicked wildly in the air.
"Stop...stop! Hahaha...no...it's so itchy! Hahahaha—!!"
She laughed and screamed at the same time, tears streaming down her face, her voice a trembling mix of sobs and uncontrollable laughter.
Li Ang controlled his malevolent energy and touched the soles of her feet a couple more times.
"Fuck! I'll fuck! I'll fuck! Please stop now!!" Fenneus finally broke down, loosening her grip on her skirt and waving it wildly in the air, her voice filled with desperate surrender.
Li Ang then withdrew his finger, and with a loosening of his grip, Fernéus fell directly to the ground, barely managing to sit up.
"It would have been better if we had cooperated earlier." Li Ang clapped his hands, his palms still seemed to have some warmth and a sweet smell like dates.
Fennes slowly curled up, hugged his legs, and buried his face in his knees.
"I...I'm very weak right now. On the one hand, I can't do anything on my own, and on the other hand, I can't summon any strong servants," she said in a low voice.
"Then what can you summon?" Li Ang asked with great interest, as he had always been fascinated by demons summoning servants.
"Earth spirits and wood spirits... the most basic elemental spirits." Freneus twirled a strand of hair.
"If it's just roof repairs, that's enough to leave it to them."
Li Ang stroked his chin. Earth spirits and wood spirits? Earth...wood...oh my god—
It's civil engineering! That's definitely a specialized field!
Suppressing his urge to complain, Li Ang asked with a smile.
What preparations are needed?
"A simple summoning circle, and some medium... preferably soil and sawdust from near the church, so that the summoned spirits will have an affinity with the building. Also, a little demon blood is needed," Fernéus explained without reservation.
Li Ang nodded: "Let's go to the backyard, it's not convenient here."
Fennes transformed back into a small fish, which Leon held in a fishbowl. They passed through the church hall and came to the backyard through a side door.
The sun was strong at the end of May, shining on the weed-covered ground. The statue of the angel with broken wings still stood in the center, next to the vegetable garden that Li Ang had planted.
The tender shoots of the Desire Grass have already broken through the soil, and two small, dark red leaves sway gently in the wind. Li Ang had come to see it twice before, wanting to fertilize it, but the message indicated that the fertilizer was temporarily full, so he simply left it alone for the time being.
Fennes's gaze lingered on the tender bud for a moment, his expression somewhat subtle.
"What's wrong?" Li Ang asked.
"It's nothing..." Fenneus looked away and squatted down to start clearing the weeds from the ground.
Li Ang didn't ask any more questions. He walked to the pile of abandoned benches in the corner, broke off a few pieces of rotten wood, and then used his foot to scrape off some dirt.
Fernéus had cleared a circular area about two meters in diameter on the ground. She took the soil and sawdust that Leon handed her and sprinkled them evenly around the edge of the circle.
Then she bit her fingertip.
A drop of dark red blood seeped out, gleaming eerily in the sunlight. With that finger, Ferné drew a complex symbol in the center of the circle, like some kind of deformed polygon, with twisted lines and tiny runes along the edges.
Li Ang stood aside and watched, his divine sense quietly unfolding.
He could sense that as the magic circle was completed, some kind of energy in the surrounding air began to converge towards the center of the circle. It was very weak, but it was definitely there.
Fennes quickly placed two small bottles in front of the magic circle and then stood inside it.
"In the name of the abyss, I summon the servants slumbering within the earth's ley lines..."
Ferné's voice changed, becoming deep and rhythmic, as if he were chanting some ancient prayer.
She spoke a language that Li Ang couldn't understand, with difficult syllables and a primal sense of power.
The lines of the magic circle began to glow, the light not dazzling, but flowing like water between the runes.
Li Ang looked up at the sky.
The sun was still shining brightly, and the backyard was so quiet that he could hear the wind rustling through the weeds. He suddenly felt a bit absurd: a priest in the church backyard watching a demon summon spirits to repair his house.
If the Vatican saw this, even Jesus would probably shed tears of blood! Amen, this is truly the end times.
"...Gnom, Deluades, come forth as summoned!"
As the ceremony drew to a close, Fenneus's last two syllables suddenly rose in pitch.
The light in the center of the magic circle exploded instantly! It spread outwards like fireworks, then quickly converged towards the bottle in front of it.
When the light faded, two little figures appeared where the bottle had been.
The one on the left is about 30 centimeters tall, grayish-brown all over, with skin like rough rock, and its facial features are very blurry, except for two glowing yellow spots where its eyes are.
The one on the right is slightly taller, about forty centimeters, with a dark brown body and bark-like texture. Its hands and feet are like slender branches, and it has a few tender green leaves on its head.
"Honorable Lord Fernéus!" the rock figure spoke first, his voice like two stones rubbing together.
"You have finally summoned us! You are still so beautiful, so powerful! This aura is intoxicating!"
The twig figures bowed in response, their voices like the rustling of leaves in the wind: "We salute you, great Marquis of the Abyss! It is our honor to serve you once again."
Fennes stood up and dusted off her skirt.
She did not respond to the elves' praise, but turned to the side and pointed at Li Ang.
"This is Father Leon." Her voice was deliberately flat, as if she wanted to convey a sense of indifference.
"This is my current master. You will now obey his orders."
The air was silent for two seconds before the two elves simultaneously turned to look at Li Ang.
"Oh my! Is this the priest?!" The rock figure's voice suddenly became enthusiastic.
"I'm so sorry, sir, I didn't notice you earlier! How rude of me! Your bearing and presence are that of someone destined for great things!"
The little tree branch quickly chimed in, "Indeed, indeed! The aura emanating from the Father... is profound and vast! It possesses both the warmth of light and the weight of the abyss! I've never seen such a perfect balance in my entire life!"
Li Ang was speechless. Goodness, this change of heart is even faster than Trump's social media posts.
The little rock figure had already run up to Leon's feet on its short legs: "Father, my name is Gnom, an earth elemental! I'm good at everything related to stone and soil! Building houses, laying foundations, paving roads, digging holes and filling in earth, I'll do it all!"
"My name is Delius." The little tree branch gave an elegant bow, the leaves on its head swaying gently with the movement.
"Wood element spirit, woodworking, carving, structural reinforcement, anything related to wood can be entrusted to me."
Before Li Ang could speak, Gnom produced a small handful of dry, shimmering grass blades from somewhere, held them in his two small hands, and presented them to Li Ang.
"Father, it's a pleasure to meet you, just a small token of my appreciation!" it said warmly.
"This is our specialty, leyline moss, it's invigorating! Would you like to try some?"
Li Ang stared blankly at the handful of grass leaves that were emitting a faint glow.
This process... why does it feel so familiar?
Fernéus explained in a low voice, "This... is similar to cigarettes among you humans; it's a form of social etiquette among elves."
Li Ang took the handful of moss from the earth veins, held it to his nose and smelled it. It had an earthy smell, and a scent that was somewhat like a mixture of mint and pine resin. He couldn't help but think to himself, "What do you mean?"
Did these elves really not study civil engineering in the country? How come they even know how to make smoke?!
Who leaked our core technology?!
