Li Ang drove his loyal, fully fueled, and freshly washed RAV4 eastward along Interstate 95.

The journey from Oldham to Philadelphia wasn't far, just over an hour's drive. Li Ang turned on the music he had prepared, not the familiar tunes, but rather albums by many singers he had never heard of before, some of whom were quite good, and the content was even more bizarre.

"Jewish families, messengers of hell, let's wipe them out together~" Accompanied by a light country tune, the lyrics coming from the speakers would probably make any mainstream media outlet secretly lose control of their bladder in fright if they heard them.

"This music from the last century is really wild, haha."

Li Ang grumbled, treating it as white noise. The view outside the window gradually changed from rolling farmland and scattered white farmhouses to more and more GG signs and gas stations.

Soon, the car drove from the south into Philadelphia.

Furneus sat in the passenger seat, one hand resting on the window sill, chin in hand, quietly watching the scenery recede outside.

Unlike Nia, who still had a section of bangs showing, all her hair was wrapped in a headscarf. Her black nun's habit made her look much more dignified than usual, but there was a hint of disdain in her eyes.

"This is the Philadelphia you were talking about?" she asked, her voice tinged with disappointment.

"In your description, this city is practically Sodom. Doesn't it look alright?"

Li Ang glanced at the rearview mirror, then turned the steering wheel.

"We're entering Philadelphia from the south now. This is the old downtown area, so it's alright," Li Ang said, pointing ahead.

"Look, that's Philadelphia City Hall, a proper tourist attraction, a place where tourists take photos and check in, so of course it's not too bad-looking."

Ferné followed his gaze and looked out the window. On both sides of the street were old buildings made of stone bricks, the walls of which had been washed by time and rain into a warm hue. The windows had white wooden frames, and some windowsills had flower pots with unknown small flowers blooming.

The area in front of the city hall was filled with stalls of all sizes, all selling various goods, creating a lively atmosphere.

"It's alright, but it's pretty boring for me," Furneus shrugged.

Li Ang chuckled, stepped on the gas, and the SUV drove north along the wide street.

Philadelphia’s downtown area certainly has a unique atmosphere, with skyscrapers packed together and glass curtain walls reflecting intense sunlight.

The trees lining both sides of the street were neatly trimmed, and all kinds of cars were parked along the roadside. Occasionally, a horse-drawn carriage carrying tourists could be seen slowly passing by.

Office workers in suits hurried by with coffee in their hands, a street performer played guitar in a square with a LOVE sign, and the air was filled with the aroma of hot dogs and roasted nuts.

"Boring," Furneus offered a brief assessment.

"Isn't this how it is in big cities?" Li Ang laughed.

"You can't expect every city to be as full of historical sites as Jerusalem."

"I'm not saying the scenery is boring, but this sense of planned order is so uninteresting," Furneus corrected.

"So what kind of city do you like?"

After thinking for a moment, Fennes tilted his head and replied, "To be honest, Fennes in her nun's habit does have a unique beauty, a kind of rebelliousness and playfulness that doesn't belong to this outfit."

"The kind that's a bit chaotic, where at least something unexpected can happen at any time, so that you don't know what you'll see next."

Li Ang remained silent, only glancing at the time on his watch. It was just past 10 a.m., and the appointment with the storage center was for 3 p.m., so going there now was indeed too early.

"There's still plenty of time." Li Ang turned the steering wheel, and instead of continuing deeper into the city center, the car turned onto a side road heading north.

"Since you find Philadelphia boring, I'll take you to see an interesting place."

Fennes glanced at him, a hint of doubt in his eyes: "Where are you taking me?"

"A popular spot for online influencers to take photos."

"Instagrammable spots? What does that mean?"

You'll know when you get there.

As the car drove further north, the scenery outside the window gradually changed.

First, there's the issue of building height. The glass skyscrapers that were once ubiquitous in the city center are gradually decreasing, replaced by low-rise row houses and abandoned shops.

Many buildings had their windows boarded up, or their roller shutters were stacked flat, and few shops were open. The walls and doors were covered with bizarre graffiti, some of which had been covered by new ones, while the old outlines remained, creating a visual hierarchy of chasing each other.

Then the pedestrians on the street, the neatly dressed office workers and leisurely strolling tourists, almost disappeared.

The people on the street started to act strangely. They walked in bizarre ways. Some walked slowly as if they were dragging iron balls under their feet, while others trembled incessantly, as if something was crawling under their skin.

Some people are piled up on the roadside like folding stools. Occasionally, a passing guy, swaying unsteadily, will rummage through them, as if searching through a piece of luggage.

Their clothing was mostly a mix of styles; some were barefoot, some were wrapped in a blanket, and some were wearing only a t-shirt so dirty that its original color was no longer visible.

The smell in the air had changed; it was no longer the sweet smell of corn syrup, but a mixture of garbage, sweat, and some kind of chemical residue, which made people very uncomfortable.

"Father, where is this...? The concentration of negative emotions here is so high that even I can't ignore it." Furneus frowned.

"Welcome to this popular Instagrammable spot."

Li Ang spoke in a relaxed tone, but deliberately slowed down the car.

"Kensington Avenue in Philadelphia, the world-famous zombie amusement park, wanna play a game of Plants vs. Zombies?"

As Li Ang spoke, he raised his hand and pointed ahead.

Fennes followed his hand and looked over.

There were quite a few people on the sidewalks on both sides of the street, but they were more like pseudo-people than real people.

Someone was curled up in a corner, head buried in their knees, it was unclear whether they had been lulled to sleep or had met Jesus.

Someone was leaning against a utility pole, their body convulsing, making incoherent sounds, and drool dripping from the corners of their mouth onto their clothes, but they didn't care.

Two people were squatting face to face on the roadside, sharing a water cup, doing something completely oblivious to their surroundings.

The most cringe-worthy thing is...

A tall Black man was on top of a white homeless man, moving back and forth violently, making no attempt to conceal his actions, right on the sidewalk, right in full view of everyone!

People were passing by, but no one gave them a second glance; it was as if it were perfectly normal.

Fennes stared at the image for several seconds, then chuckled softly.

"Okay." She turned to look at Li Ang, her fingers resting on her cheek.

"I think I'm falling in love with this place~"
