Hunter x Hunter: The Strongest Zoldyck
Chapter 49 The Battle with Monsters
This time, Roy's plan was no longer about if Fica could use Nen again, nor was it about letting Bolt, Saen, and Yumongad wear each other down while he reaped the benefits.
His new plan is very simple...
So simple it only takes three words:
I can't wait any longer.
Without waiting for Fica to recover, without waiting for Bolt to accumulate enough Nen, without waiting for Saen's Nen ability to be unsealed.
Before those two things grow new hearts, before they remember the attack method, before they evolve into something more dangerous.
No way!!!
Boom!
Roy stomped down hard with his right foot, and a dull thud immediately followed.
Behind his silver-gray eyes, a deep, dark red hue was clearly visible.
Ta-da-ta-da...
After taking two steps forward, to a point less than a meter from the battleground, Roy stopped and began to observe the situation, ready to intervene at any moment.
"Loy?"
Just then, Bolt, who had just been knocked away by Yumongaard, passed by Roy and saw him.
Snapped!
Drawing a clumsy arc in the air, Bolt fell straight down to a position a few dozen meters away from Roy.
Then, before he could even regain his footing, he shuffled over to Roy and slowly said:
"Can you use that killer move again?"
Roy made no further move, simply nodding indifferently.
But his silver-grey eyes never left Yumongaard and Saen.
"What are you planning to do?"
Bolt pressed on, and Roy paused for a moment.
It's so short that if Bolt didn't have sharp ears, he would hardly catch it.
"Take them apart."
"There is no heart on the left, and there is no heart on the right."
"Then start by splitting them in the middle, until they can't grow any new ones."
He took another step forward.
The moonlight fell on his bare back, illuminating the muscles that Fika's Nen had reassembled... smooth, intact, like a piece of paper that had never been written on.
Are you alone?
Roy did not answer.
He simply raised his hand and clenched it into a fist.
One person is enough.
He took another step forward.
At the far end of the deck, Saan was still locked in combat with the two creatures.
The dagger spun in his palm again and again, its silvery-white blade tracing arcs in the moonlight. It seemed incredibly sharp, yet it was easily blocked by Yumongard at every turn, still made of flesh and blood.
Even Saen himself couldn't remember how many times he had stabbed Jumongaard.
Every stab he made was aimed at vital points...throat, chest, left rib, spine.
Yumongaard managed to dodge some attacks, but not others. All the knives that struck him felt as weak and powerless as if they had pierced cotton.
As expected... this is no ordinary monster.
Wiping the fine sweat from his temples with his right hand, Saen dared not be distracted for a moment as he dealt with Yumongaard's attack.
He was able to hold on at first, but as time went on, he was unable to continue after half an hour.
In that instant... in the moment when Saen was powerless, Yumongard punched him and sent him flying.
"Cough cough... cough cough..."
"Damn, he really is a monster."
After being knocked away, Saen held his chest with his left hand and slowly leaned against the iron railing of the deck to stand up.
"At least two ribs are broken?"
Feeling a tearing pain in his chest, Saen silently made a judgment.
Just as he made his judgment, Jumongad had already caught up with him despite the storm.
His pupils instantly shrank to pinpoints.
A bloody, mangled fist came hurtling towards him, so fast that Saan only managed to catch a glimpse of a grayish-white afterimage.
Then the fist arrived.
It slammed into his crossed arms, the force exploding from the point of contact like a bomb exploding in his chest.
It's not pain... it's flying.
"Cough cough... cough cough..."
Saan placed his left hand on his chest and slowly leaned against the iron railing of the deck to stand up.
"Bolt, I think I'm not good enough."
Leaning against the fence, Saan called out to Bolt in the distance.
"Keep going, keep going..."
Bolt glanced back at Saen's eyes and saw a hint of despair and exhaustion in them.
This was the first time he had seen these two emotions in his friend's eyes.
"If we don't persevere, we'll be the ones who die. My willpower is exhausted, and yours has been forcibly plunged into a state of annihilation, making it impossible for us to leave this ship."
"So...we have no choice, Saan, as always..."
A calm, indifferent reply came from Bolt's mouth and reached Saan's ears.
Pooh!
Spitting out a mouthful of bloody saliva, Saen gripped the silver dagger in his right hand again and, trembling, began to face Yumongard directly.
"Come on! Let's begin round two..."
Trembling, Saen's speed increased instead of decreasing, and he suddenly lunged into Yumongard's chest in the blink of an eye.
Click...!
The result... in less than a tenth of a second.
Saan's silver dagger was broken first, followed by his ribs, sternum, and muscles...
In an instant, he was completely helpless, as if he had been run over by a heavy tank.
Before Saen could react, a fist the size of a clay pot, a bloody, mangled fist, slammed into his chest.
Then he flew away again.
Bolt, I really can't do it anymore.
This was Saan's last thought before he fell into a coma.
Roy clearly saw Sarn being knocked away.
He saw Saen fly away, saw his left arm hanging at his side, saw his sunken chest, and saw his right hand, which was empty and had nothing in its palm.
He originally intended to take this opportunity to eliminate Saen first, to console all those who died on the Augley at his hands.
But just as he was about to make his move, a chill suddenly enveloped his heart.
Roy glanced up instinctively and saw that not far away, Yumongard, with the blond man Zet and the red-haired woman Irene on his back, was already rushing towards him.
If nothing unexpected happens, he will have zero contact with Roy in a few seconds.
"Good timing..."
Silently reciting a phrase, Roy extended his left hand, fingers spread, palm facing up.
Moonlight fell on his palms, illuminating the calluses worn from the dagger hilt and the fine, ring-like lines between his knuckles.
His gaze fell on his little finger... the thinnest one, the one with the most brittle bone, the one that heals the fastest after being broken.
Then... with a gentle bend.
Click.
The sound was very soft, like breaking a withered branch or crushing thin ice.
In an instant, a sharp pain shot up from his fingertips, making it difficult for Roy to suppress.
"Physical liberation! Thirty-five percent!"
With a low groan, an unparalleled force surged through his body.
"Zoldyck Assassination... Shikigami 9... Ranbu..."
His voice was very low, so low it sounded like he was talking to himself.
Every time a word comes out of his mouth, a certain muscle in his body tenses up...
It wasn't intentional; it was instinct.
It's an instinct deeply ingrained in his genes.
