Every time they hear such words, the young wizards feel discouraged. To them, the wand is a symbol of their wizarding identity and a bridge connecting them to magic. Not being able to use the wand freely is like losing the stage to cast spells, and their interest in class will instantly diminish.

In Charms class, Professor Flitwick not only doesn't forbid students from using wands, but also encourages them to practice and experiment. This atmosphere of free exploration of magic allows every young wizard to fully immerse themselves in the subject, and Puni has grown to love it even more.

......

The first year of Hogwarts was much easier than Penny had expected. There was no heavy academic pressure or rigorous extra training. In particular, there were no classes scheduled for Friday mornings, and students were free to spend their time as they pleased, either researching in the library or taking a stroll around the castle.

The morning sunlight streamed through the castle's stained-glass windows, casting a warm glow on the long table in the dining room.

Puni leisurely finished his breakfast, drank the last sip of hot milk, then got up, cleared away the dishes, and walked along the grass outside the castle toward the Forbidden Forest.

Hagrid has been out here for so long, he can finally get to know some people.

Moreover, he was filled with curiosity about the Forbidden Forest, and Hagrid's residence was located on the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

After walking along the soft grass for about fifteen minutes, a particularly eye-catching building came into view.

That was the "cabin" Hagrid had mentioned.

But to Puni, it was no small house at all; it was more like a miniature version of a giant's castle, far larger than he had imagined.

The oak door frame alone is nearly four meters high, and the heavy wooden door is inlaid with huge copper rings. The door panel is covered with wood grain of varying shades, exuding an ancient and dignified atmosphere.

Even though it's only a one-story building, the interior space is exceptionally spacious. Standing outside, it appears even taller than a typical Muggle house with two floors.

The exterior of the cabin is decorated with a very homey feel, much like a farmhouse inn.

Many strange tools hung under the eaves: giant shears for pruning branches, polished axes, and several strings of dried, unidentified herbs, swaying gently in the wind.

Several bundles of dried firewood were piled up in the corner, and next to them was a huge iron barrel filled with animal feed. The air was filled with the fresh scent of firewood, herbs, and soil.

Before Puni could even raise his hand to knock on the door, a deep, thunderous bark came from the bushes beside him.

"Woof woof—"

Immediately afterwards, Hagrid's loud voice came from inside the house.

"Huh? Who's here? Toothpick, slow down! Don't scare the guests!"

No sooner had the words been spoken than a series of hurried footsteps were heard, accompanied by the whistling of the wind. A huge black dog suddenly emerged from the bushes, several times larger than an ordinary dog, its thick, fluffy black fur clinging to its body, making it appear exceptionally robust.

With its long tongue lolling out and its eyes sparkling, it saw Puni and immediately wagged its tail excitedly, then leaped and pounced on Puni.

"Puni, is that you? Hey! Tooth, stop! You'll scare Puni!" Hagrid followed closely behind, striding out of the house. He was tall and burly, and with his broad, thick hand, he grabbed the big black dog by the scruff of its neck and lifted the enormous creature up with a gentle lift.

Although this big black dog was a full meter tall and quite intimidating to ordinary people, it was as docile as a kitten in Hagrid's hands, with no room for resistance whatsoever, given the vast difference in their sizes.

Puni carefully examined the big black dog. It was a Neapolitan Mastiff, somewhat resembling a Shar Pei from the Muggle world. Its face was covered with wrinkles, and its round eyes, combined with its loose skin, gave it a somewhat melancholic look, which contrasted with its massive size.

"Don't worry, it's just too excited."

Hagrid smiled and released his grip, placing the large black dog on the ground. He greeted Puni warmly, saying, "Never many students come here, so it's rare for it to see strangers, and it gets excited. Actually, it's very easy to get along with, even a little timid, and would never hurt anyone unprovoked."

"Woof woof..." Ya Ya whimpered softly, wagged its tail, and walked to Puni's feet. It stretched out its wet nose and sniffed at Puni's trousers and shoes with curious eyes.

No one expected that this seemingly fierce mastiff would be so docile. After sniffing for a while, it simply lay down on the ground, belly up, revealing its snow-white fur, and gently rubbed against Puni's ankle, looking like it was looking forward to being petted.

Hagrid watched this scene and laughed heartily, relieved: "Don't be afraid, look, it's treating you like one of its own."

Puni bent down and gently stroked Ya Ya's soft belly, feeling its warmth, a rare gentle expression appearing on his face.

He then followed Hagrid into the cabin, which had a very simple layout. The entire space consisted of only one room, yet it was unusually spacious.

The fireplace is against the wall, and on it sits a set of enormous table and chairs. The tabletop is made from a single, huge piece of solid wood, and the chairs are large enough to seat two adults side by side.

In the corner, there was a large bed covered with patchwork cloth, the bedding thick and soft, looking very comfortable.

The walls were covered with all sorts of objects, making it look somewhat cluttered yet cozy.

A huge umbrella hangs in the most conspicuous position. The umbrella surface is somewhat worn, but it has been wiped clean.

A huge black leather coat was hanging on a hook, with fur trim on the collar and cuffs, looking very warm.

There was also an ancient-style crossbow with a taut bowstring, exuding a sense of intimidation. In addition, there were several strange animal skins and some handicrafts hanging on the wall.

The fireplace was also surprisingly large, with firewood crackling and radiating warm heat.

On the walls on either side of the fireplace, several skewers of smoked meat and smoked chicken hung, their fat slowly dripping down the meat's texture and emitting an enticing aroma.

On the table in the middle of the fireplace sat a brass kettle and a huge baking tray, with some crumbs of biscuits still on it, indicating that Hagrid had just been baking something.

"Please sit down, please sit down, have some tea! I really didn't expect you to come." Hagrid warmly invited Puni to sit down, then turned around and picked up the baking tray from the fireplace, placing it steadily on the table in front of Puni. On the tray were several golden and crispy biscuits, steaming hot and fragrant.

Then, he picked up the brass kettle, poured hot tea into a large ceramic teacup, and handed it to Puni.

"You know me very well."
