The American Kill Line: I Can Predict the Future
Chapter 46 Jessica Alba
Ron was a womanizer, especially fond of Hollywood actresses and young models.
This is a semi-open secret on Wall Street.
In fact, after Ron became a billionaire, he lost all his romanticized view of Hollywood actresses.
The reason why my current girlfriends are all actresses and models is simply because I think these women are more "simple".
Unlike socialites and businesswomen, these women are extremely greedy, and could even be considered dangerous.
Every year, many millionaires and billionaires on Wall Street fall victim to these types of women.
But actresses and models are different; what they want is very simple: to become famous.
And these are precisely the things that Ron cares about least.
Of course, there's another point: he's fulfilling a dream he had as a teenager.
Just like buying toys when you grow up.
I don't necessarily like it that much, but I just want to make up for the version of myself I was when I was younger.
Unfortunately, most of the female celebrities Ron admired in his youth are now old.
For example, Monica Bellucci, Jennifer Connelly, and Catherine Zeta-Jones are all in their forties now.
Although the old A8 is still an A8.
But Ron drives a Rolls-Royce, and he's still looking for an old A8? That's pure idiot.
Of course, if the old A8 were Jessica Alba, that would be a different story.
Even though she was wearing a mask, Ron recognized her at a glance.
"You, how did you get here?"
Ron stood up from the lawn, frowning as he looked at the bodyguard next to the car by the roadside.
He couldn't believe it was such a coincidence that he would run into Jessica on the roadside.
So he didn't even drink the water she offered.
Jessica frowned and glanced at her indifferently.
Ron sensed something was wrong. He trusted Simon and his team; they wouldn't easily let a stranger get close.
Even if the other person is a woman.
This has been proven in the past.
Ron raised his hand and called Simon over.
Simon stepped forward and whispered a brief account of what had happened to Ron.
Ron suddenly realized, cursing inwardly, "Who said Charles was an old-fashioned person?"
Damn it, that old guy clearly had a lot of fun when he was young.
It's just that it's relatively hidden.
Seeing Jessica's cold expression, Ron awkwardly unscrewed the bottle cap and took a sip of water. "Miss Alba, shall I send a car to take you home?"
Jessica continued to watch indifferently, though there was a hint of doubt in her eyes, but more so disbelief.
She can refuse those unspoken rules of Hollywood.
But she couldn't refuse the "invitation" from the Koch family.
"Fine, whatever."
Ron had a terrible headache and was feeling the effects of the alcohol. He didn't bother to explain and turned back to his car.
Jessica hesitated for a moment, but followed behind, getting into the car one after the other.
As soon as Ron got in the car, he collapsed into his seat and fell fast asleep.
Jessica would never speak up on her own initiative.
The two of them walked silently all the way to the apartment at 710 Park Avenue.
Then, with Jessica's help, they entered the elevator and went inside.
Back home, Ron couldn't hold it in any longer and ran to the toilet to vomit.
Jessica hesitated for a moment, then took a bottle of water from the refrigerator, followed him into the bathroom, and gently patted the man's back.
She didn't even know what the man did, only his name—Ron Hunter.
However, for the Koch family to go to such lengths to entertain them, they must be someone of considerable importance.
Jessica's mind was racing with all sorts of random thoughts.
Fortunately, he was not very old, and he always had a team of bodyguards and luxury cars to escort him when he went out. He also lived in an old-money area, and she had seen the watch on his wrist before; it was a Vacheron Constantin worth millions.
"He's probably the heir to some conglomerate."
Jessica thought to herself.
Then, thinking about how he had inexplicably become a victim of the upper class, he couldn't help but feel sad.
The force of the gentle pats on his back unconsciously increased.
"Ahem, are you trying to help me, or are you planning to kill me?!"
Ron felt a little better in his stomach.
Jessica blushed slightly, lowered her eyes, and handed over the ice water.
Ron flushed the toilet, rinsed his mouth a few times with water, and then left the bathroom.
"You might not believe it, but I really didn't know any of this."
Ron took off his coat, preparing to take a shower first.
At that moment, a pair of slender hands gently helped him take off his coat from behind.
Ron stopped in his tracks, and then Jessica's voice came through: "Yeah. I believe you, but... it doesn't matter."
She was still as aloof as ever, only now with a touch more stubbornness.
"There are three guest rooms in the house, all clean. You can choose one to sleep in for the night, or you can leave now. I'll explain things to the Koch family."
Ron went straight into his room without looking back.
He may like actresses, but that doesn't mean he likes this kind of coercion.
"Fuck! You're Trump's brother, Trump is unreliable."
After taking a shower in the master bathroom, Ron dried himself off and came out cursing Charles for being a scoundrel.
At least find out my preferences.
Why bring in a married woman who doesn't want to come?
……
early morning.
Ron gets up early to work out at the community gym.
He pushed open the door and saw a figure busy in the kitchen.
A lighthearted song drifted through the room.
Looking at that alluring figure, Ron was a little confused about what this woman was thinking: "You didn't go back?"
Hearing the noise behind her, Jessica hurriedly turned around: "Hunter, Mr. Hunter, you're back? Just a moment, breakfast will be ready soon."
Compared to her aloofness last night, Jessica now exudes a sweeter charm, dressed as a cook, and even has a touch of virtuousness about her.
Ron chuckled: "Are you worried I won't keep my promise?"
Jessica waved her hands repeatedly: "No, no, no, I just... I just thought you were a kind gentleman and wanted to thank you. But I know I'm nothing to you. The nanny just said you went to exercise, so I took over her work. Please forgive me if I've been presumptuous, Mr. Hunter."
With that, Jessica took off her apron and prepared to leave.
Ron listened patiently to her explanation, then joked, "You've already kicked the nanny out, if she leaves now, won't I be left without breakfast?"
Jessica stood there awkwardly.
Ron chuckled, "Make another one. Stay and have breakfast with me, we can talk about your business. I'm going to wash up now."
If Monica and Connery were his mentors, then Jessica was Ron's goddess from age 20 to 30.
At that time, he did not know his ex-wife, and Jessica was the partner he longed for most.
The room was covered with Jessica's posters, and even her headshot was in my wallet.
Now, seeing his once unattainable goddess standing so cautiously and reservedly before him, Ron sighed with emotion.
"Being rich is fucking great."
After leaving his room, Ron changed into his loungewear.
Jessica prepared breakfast meticulously, like a devoted wife.
The two sat facing each other, and Ron ate his breakfast while asking Jessica some questions.
Jessica had only intended to mention that she had received an invitation from the Koch family a couple of days ago.
But for some reason, as they talked, they unconsciously started talking about their past as well.
Perhaps it was because this man kindly "let himself off the hook" last night.
Perhaps she had kept these words bottled up inside for a long time and wanted to talk to someone she wasn't that close to and who didn't care about her.
She said that she had dreamed of becoming an actress since she was a child, entered the entertainment industry at the age of 13, gradually made a name for herself in Hollywood, and then became famous overnight.
After becoming famous overnight, it's not just about flowers and praise.
Beneath the glamorous exterior lie covetous eyes.
Some people persuaded her to unbutton her clothes, saying it was for art.
Someone pressured her into opening the hotel room door by threatening her contract and future prospects.
Jessica said she refused to give in, so she found a producer as her boyfriend, married him, and then got pregnant and had a child at lightning speed.
She thought that this would allow her to escape the gazes of those who coveted her.
However, the reality is that her career after marriage did not go as smoothly as Jessica had imagined.
The doors of Hollywood seemed to have suddenly closed to her.
Those leading roles that were once readily available to her were all rejected for various reasons, and she could only play minor supporting roles.
Ron listened to his former goddess's ordeal and found it rather amusing; he smiled.
"So you ultimately decided to make the sacrifice, right?"
Jessica was taken aback, and glared at the unromantic man with some displeasure.
They've described such a tragic situation, yet they show absolutely no sympathy.
Luckily, I thought I had met a kind gentleman.
A moment later, Jessica took a deep breath and gave what she thought was a charming smile:
"You're right. So, Mr. Hunter, how do you intend to help me out of this predicament?"
"Miss Alba, you may have misunderstood. I never promised to help you out of this predicament. I only said that I would explain things to the Koch family."
Ron was always very generous to women, except for those he didn't even eat a bite of meat with.
Jessica was stunned again. This man could change his attitude even faster than she could, a woman herself.
She realized she had made a serious mistake in her judgment, so she quickly switched to a different strategy:
"But I stayed at your house last night. How could someone as important as you bear to see a poor mother suffer such unfair criticism?"
Another meaning of this statement is that if she were photographed walking out of here, not only would she be condemned by public opinion, but Ron would also be affected.
Helping her is helping yourself.
Sure enough, how could a woman who has been in the entertainment industry since childhood be simple?
But Ron wouldn't do as she wished. He leaned back in his chair and said with a smile:
"Does your husband know you stayed at my place last night, Mrs. Warren?"
The word "Mrs. Warren" made Jessica gasp for breath, and all her previous charm vanished, her pretty face turning deathly pale.
As Ron said before, if it weren't for her obsession with Hollywood, she could have easily refused the Koch family's "invitation".
She simply felt that after this experience, she would be able to completely escape the shadows of the past and get rid of that man's "love" for her.
Just as Jessica was in pain, despair, and stunned.
Ron dialed a number, said a few words, and then handed her the phone:
Tell her your size.
Jessica took the phone blankly, and after hearing the introduction from the other end, she looked at the man on the other end with a blank expression.
"I made plans to play golf with friends this morning, and I need a female companion. You can decline, and you can leave now. I will still keep my promise from last night."
Ron wiped his mouth, got up and went straight to the study.
The choice once again fell to Jessica.
This time, she truly realized that the reason this man was valued by the Koch family was not as simple as she had imagined.
Jessica didn't know what her choice meant, but she had already taken 99 steps and was just one last step away.
She took a deep breath and slowly told her body size to the clothing store she had only heard of on the phone.
