Great, it's a scalper, we're saved!

After the planners finished speaking, the meeting room fell silent again.

Liu Yaqi closed her eyes, rubbing her temples repeatedly, trying to process the information she was currently receiving.

Being able to serve as the public relations director at a company of Tencent's caliber, Liu Yaqi's work ability is beyond question. A moment later, she opened her eyes and looked at the group of planners in front of her.

"The tricky part about this is that it's generating so much buzz, so the only solution is to create something that generates even more buzz."

Liu Yaqi spoke with a serious expression.

"what?"

"Mr. Liu, are you trying to divert netizens' attention? That's probably going to be difficult, isn't it?"

Several planners spoke up, somewhat bewildered.

It's true that a new hot topic can be created through massive publicity, but the problem is that it requires far too many resources.

Moreover, the most critical issue is that even if new trending events attract netizens' attention, once that interest wears off, they will still turn their attention back to the ELO mechanism.

This is just a delaying tactic and does not solve the fundamental problem.

"It's not difficult."

Liu Yaqi shook her head, took a deep breath, and assigned the task.

A dozen minutes later, watching the planners walk away, Liu Yaqi couldn't help but sigh.

Weighing the pros and cons, this method seems to be the most appropriate at the moment.

Shortly after, the official Weibo account of Honor of Kings released a brief statement, which quickly became a trending topic on Weibo.

[A bug recently appeared in the matchmaking system, which was triggered by some players. We are currently performing maintenance.]

"Holy crap!! Did they use a bug to gain points? No wonder they were on a winning streak!"

"No way, was Mad Ghost Brother right? They really used a bug?"

"No wonder everyone's teammates are carrying the team, it turns out the matchmaking system is bugged."

"So that's how Marco's winning streak came about!"

"Holy crap, I was hoping to see Mad Ghost Bro get slapped in the face, but it turns out Zheng Fan really does have a problem!"

"Are you an idiot upstairs? The official statement didn't say it was malicious use of a bug, and Zheng Fan is innocent too!"

"Yeah, Zheng Fan might not even know there's a bug!"

"Aren't these two the real idiots? If Zheng Fan didn't know about this bug, would he have been so confident in guaranteeing Ma Bo's winning streak from the start?"

"Isn't this way much more serious than game boosting?"

"Oh no, Zheng Fan is probably really going to get banned now, right?"

"The official statement from the King of Glory team has been very tactful; they are trying to save face for CCTV."

"Holy crap! The plot can take such a turn?"

"What kind of good people can scalpers be? They're all full of bad intentions!"

"I saw through him long ago; Zheng Fan doesn't seem like an honest person."

"..."

The official statement immediately caused an uproar online.

Many people were surprised to learn that the truth was that Zheng Fan really had violated the rules!

Moreover, is it a bug that's even more serious than power leveling?

Although the statement did not name names or even mention specific events, it was clear to everyone that it was referring to Zheng Fan's live stream today.

For a moment, no one cared about Ma Bo's winning streak or Kuang Gui Ge; everyone's attention was focused on the outcome of Zheng Fan's case.

……

At this moment, in an apartment in the capital city.

After finishing his lunch and resting for a while, Lei Ge opened his live stream.

As a full-time game streamer, Lei Ge's schedule is different from that of normal people. He usually starts streaming around 1 or 2 pm every day.

"Huh? Why are there so many people?"

Looking at the number of viewers in the live stream, Lei Ge couldn't help but feel curious.

When I do my own live streams, the most people I ever get is around 100,000.

I haven't even started broadcasting yet! How come there are already 50,000 or 60,000 people in my live stream?

"Is it a bug?"

Unlike typical game streamers, Lei Ge is neither a technical streamer nor an entertainment streamer; he is a genuine bug streamer.

For him, the most enjoyable part of playing games is researching the bugs in various games.

Therefore, upon seeing this abnormal number of online users, Lei Ge's first thought was that it was a bug.

However, after seeing the comments from the viewers, Lei Ge gradually understood.

It's not a bug, but something big has happened in the gaming world?

"Did Zheng Fan exploit a bug in the game to help others rank up?"

From the chat in the live stream, Lei Ge roughly understood the ins and outs of the matter.

As a fellow streamer, Lei Ge was naturally familiar with the name Zheng Fan.

This immediately piqued Lei Ge's interest.

Immediately, Lei Ge opened Weibo and saw the official statement from the King of Glory team trending on Weibo.

"Did a bug in the matchmaking system occur?"

"The matchmaking system can have bugs?!"

Lei Ge muttered to himself in astonishment.

Immediately, Brother Lei found Zheng Fan's live stream recording from today and carefully reviewed it.

"Not attacking players, just clearing minions and pushing towers?"

"The overall score has dropped below 60 points?"

Just from seeing the beginning, Lei Ge immediately realized that Zheng Fan might actually have used a bug!

Because bugs in games require specific conditions to be triggered, Zheng Fan's requirements perfectly fit the prerequisites for exploiting bugs.

"But this doesn't affect whether the game is won or lost, right? What kind of bug could it trigger?"

Lei Ge's curiosity grew even stronger.

Continuing on, we soon came to the most important part.

"Can I only play Meng Tian? Even if I lose the match, I can't participate in team fights?"

Lei Ge's face was full of doubt, and he vaguely felt that something was wrong.

Looking further ahead, it's clear that Ma Bo started winning games inexplicably one after another.

"If it really is a bug, then it's already successfully frozen?"

"But this doesn't seem like a bug in the matchmaking system at all!"

Lei turned off the video, rubbed his chin, and pondered what he had just seen.

"The purpose of those items and runes should be solely for pushing towers without minions."

"What truly affects matchmaking is the overall rating and the score for each individual match!"

"If that's really the case..."

While thinking, Lei immediately picked up his phone and started a live stream.

When Lei Ge started his live stream, the viewers who were chatting in the live stream room immediately gathered around to watch.

They were already people who had nowhere to chat and were looking for fun, and when they saw that Lei Ge had Honor of Kings open on his phone, the number of comments in the live stream increased even more.

However, Lei Ge ignored the comments and logged into his King of Glory account on his own.

"This is a brand new account that I've never played ranked matches before, so I can eliminate all interfering factors."

"If it really is a bug, then I should be able to replicate it and get it working."

Lei Ge muttered to himself and immediately clicked "Start Game".

After entering the game, Lei Ge followed Zheng Fan's instructions and controlled Meng Tian, only pushing lanes and towers, without participating in team fights or attacking anyone.

The game ended quickly. Although they won, they finished with a score of 0-3 and a rating of 3.7.

Lei Ge remained expressionless and started the next round.

As the number of games increased, Lei Ge's calm expression grew increasingly shocked.

The once bustling live stream room saw a continuous increase in the number of online viewers, but the number of comments on the screen became pitifully small.

Everyone stared blankly at the game interface, unsure of what to say.

As the latest match ended, Lei Ge stared wide-eyed at his long winning streak, took a deep breath, and looked into the live stream.

"Guys, this is fucking..."

"It's not a bug!"

"It's the damn game mechanics!"
