Douluo Continent Chat Group: Building My Academy

Chapter 29, If you don't want to trouble your friends, then solve their problems for them.

Snapped.

Karp casually closed the door, instantly casting a small shadow that blocked out the sunlight.

"Indeed, Shanks. What brings you to my hometown?"

One in front and one behind, Garp and Zephyr seemed to have enveloped the Red-Haired Pirates, and an inexplicable aura of pressure began to emanate from them.

The entire Red-Haired Gang also realized something was wrong, and their expressions turned serious.

Second-in-command Beckman lit a cigarette, his hands already on the gun; Lucky Roux chewed on meat, his small eyes behind his sunglasses glancing left and right; Yasopp also raised his gun.

Shanks looked left and right, then shrugged helplessly and pointed outside the tavern.

"I'm just passing through, and I'll meet some interesting people and villages, so I'll stay for a few days. If there's anything else, should we talk about it outside?"

Shanks was worried that if a fight broke out here, it would ruin Makino's tavern.

Little Luffy blinked, looking at Shanks with confusion, then at Garp Zephyr.

"Chicken sauce?"

Uta seemed to know something too. She quickly put down her plate, not even having time to wipe the sauce from the corner of her mouth, and rushed to the redhead's side.

"Shanks?"

Seeing the increasingly intense atmosphere at the event, the proprietress, Makino, who had just served the drinks, opened her mouth as if to say something.

"Hahaha, I don't think a kid like you would lie. Hey Garp, come sit down and tell this old man about the wine from your hometown."

Just then, Zephyr suddenly spoke up, saying that he hadn't come here just to fight the Red-Haired Pirates.

"Oh, no problem."

Garp walked over with a smile, no longer blocking the door. As the Navy's top enforcer, he knew that his intelligence was no match for his three old buddies, so he just had to obey their orders.

Garp casually sat down next to Luffy, scooped the silly boy into his arms, ignoring the sauce he'd made all over the place, and looked at Makino.

"Little Makino, bring Zephyr the best wine in the shop, make him swallow it whole! Luffy, this is your grandpa Zephyr."

"Grandpa Zephyr?"

"Yes, Mr. Karp."

Seeing that the atmosphere had eased, Makino smiled and immediately went backstage to get the wine.

Seeing this, the red-haired men also put down their guns, and their expressions returned to calm.

"This must be Black Arm General, right? Do you know him?"

Beckman tentatively asked why Zeffaapp had come.

"Well, I'd say we've met."

Zephyr glanced at the redhead, and a single sentence shattered the composure on his face.

"It seems to be on Mary Geoise?"

"Haha, Mr. Zephyr, you jest. I'm just a small-time pirate, why would I go to a place like Mary Geoise?"

Shanks waved his hand dismissively, trying to brush off the topic with a laugh.

But the people around him knew him too well, and even Uta could tell he was lying, looking at Shanks with a puzzled expression.

After a moment of silence, Shanks sighed helplessly and cast a glance at Zeff that suggested a private conversation.

Zefa smiled smugly. This was the power of having read the script. He then took the drink from Marcino and took a sip.

"Hmm, Karp, this tastes pretty good."

"Haha, I knew it!"

Karp was very pleased with himself and asked Makino for several more plates of roast meat, as he missed the taste of home.

The atmosphere seemed to freeze again. Shanks wanted to say something, but looking at Capzef who was eating and drinking on his own, he felt that he would be at a disadvantage if he spoke.

Just as they were hesitating, suddenly, the tavern door was blasted open by a strong gust of wind, with a loud bang, even more violent than when Garp arrived.

"Wow, this tavern is pretty crowded today."

With a cross-shaped scar on his forehead and arrogance practically written all over his face, Sieg strolled in, glanced around, and then fixed his gaze on the cloak of justice.

"Navy? Hmm, I never expected to see the navy in a place like this?"

Sig, a bandit, scoffed and looked at Makino.

"Hey, boss lady, looks like you're making a good profit here? You can afford to hire the navy, so could you give me a little more?"

Makino's face paled. "Mr. Sig, please don't do this. Mr. Karp's hometown is in Windmill Village. They're just going home for a visit."

"Oh?" Sig looked at Garp, whom Makino mentioned, and then smiled disdainfully.

"No wonder, a wretched old man waiting to die, with his grandson in his arms? This grandfather and grandson really look equally foolish!"

"Hey! What are you talking about! Chicken Sauce isn't some old geezer! He's got a lot of punches!"

Garp didn't say anything, but Luffy, who was in his arms, couldn't hold back any longer and immediately stood up and started cursing.

Luffy is undoubtedly someone who cares more about the important people around him than himself. Even though his grandfather always beats him, he can't let others insult him.

Garp glanced at Sig, but ignored him, focusing intently on eating the freshly served roast meat.

Shanks, Beckman, and the others looked at Sieg in shock. How could such a person appear in Windmill Village?!

"A fist? Hahahaha." Sig laughed arrogantly. "How much power can an old man's fist have? Kid, don't talk nonsense in a drinking place."

Ignoring Luffy completely, Sigurd went to sit down at the bar.

"You should be glad I'm in a good mood today and won't hold it against you. Boss lady, bring the wine, my brothers and I are thirsty!"

Zefa tilted his head, not expecting to encounter this scene so coincidentally. His cunning mind immediately came up with a plan to coax the child.

"Um..." Makino hesitated, "I'm sorry, sir, we're very busy today and all our drinks are sold out. Is there anything else you'd like?"

"Sold out!?" Sieg jumped to his feet, his face grim. "What kind of tavern is it if there's no wine? What are you doing, proprietress?!"

"I'm so sorry, I'm really sorry." Makino was speechless and could only keep apologizing.

"This guy..." Luffy and Uta clenched their fists simultaneously, looking indignant.

"Um," Shanks smiled helplessly, drawing Sig's attention, "I have another bottle of wine here. If you don't mind, you can drink mine."

Even on his friend's turf, Shanks still didn't want to fight.

"Whoa..."

Sieg turned his head, saw Shanks, and once again forced a mocking expression onto his face.

"Isn't this a pirate? Drinking with the Marines is disgusting. No wonder I smelled that awful fishy smell as soon as I came in."

"Want some wine?" Sigurd suddenly drew his sword. "Don't underestimate me. I'm Sigurd, the one who killed fifty-six pirates and has a bounty of eight million Berries!"

Just as the knife was about to hit Shanks' head, Shanks seemed to have no reaction. He simply sat down on the ground just as the knife was about to hit his straw hat.

The atmosphere in the tavern seemed to freeze, and everyone stared in disbelief at Sieg who had suddenly sprung up.

Snapped.

A large hand gripped the swinging knife; Zephyr had appeared out of nowhere, rendering Sieg unable to move.

"Uh-huh!"

Sig looked at Zefa and realized that the shadow cast by the old man's muscles almost covered his entire body.

Terrified, he tried to pull the knife back, but it seemed to be clamped by iron clamps, and no matter how hard Sieg tried to pull, it wouldn't budge.

Zeff grinned as he watched Shanks plop down on his bottom.

"Kid, if people come to your door and bully your friends' territory, and you keep worrying about this, it will only make people think you're weak, not that you're considering the big picture."

The true way to protect a friend in this situation is to decisively and cleanly get rid of the trouble!

The educational words hit Shanks, startling the capricious man.

Zephyr then turned to Sieg, a clear smile playing behind his sunglasses. "You said you have an eight million bounty, right?"

Sig's face froze, his whole body trembled, and words of pleading were already on the tip of his tongue.

With a loud bang, Sig flew up and crashed out of the tavern. Less than a second later, there was another series of crackling sounds as all the bandits were thrown out as well.

"Arrest them all, interrogate them, imprison those found guilty, and hand them over to the local government if they are innocent."

"yes!"

At Zephyr's command, the naval soldiers swarmed forward and bound all the unconscious bandits.

"So handsome..."

Luffy stared blankly at Zephyr, who exuded an aura of dominance and possessed a towering figure, his eyes gleaming.

Even Uta, who was standing next to Shanks, looked at Zeff with adoration.

Shanks got up, looked at the relieved Uta Luffy, then at the relieved Makino, and slapped himself in realization.

"He's done something stupid again!"

Zephyr turned around and looked at the excited Luffy, smiling inwardly. Kids at this age like this kind of coolness, and it seems he did a great job.

Zephyr strode back to his seat, and Luffy immediately forgot all about Shanks and swarmed around him like bees.

"Grandpa Zefa, you eat."

Zefa laughed heartily, feeling like he was having a grandson, which was quite nice. "Okay, Grandpa's eating...wait!"

Zefa stared blankly at the strangely patterned, segmented fruit before him. Could this be...?

"Ugh! Hey Luffy, what did you bring me?! It tastes awful!"

Garp covered his mouth, looking uncomfortable.

Zephyr stared in disbelief, and the next second, Garp's hands stretched out and landed with a thud.

"well!?"

The entire audience was shocked.
