A static simulator is a stationary simulator. During training, the simulator remains stationary, fixed in place by a metal corridor. Pilots training in static mode can only see changes on the scenery screen; their bodies do not feel any movement. It's somewhat like an advanced version of a flight simulation game.

The only difference between static models and flight games is that static models have more refined scenery screens and a near-realistic operating system, which is something that crude flight games cannot match at all.

The static model is only the simplest part of the initial modification, because compared with real flight, the static model still lacks enough realism.

More often than not, static training tends to improve pilots’ familiarity with procedures, while dynamic training is where they begin to hone their flying skills.

The so-called moving mold is the opposite of the stationary mold. During the moving mold, the metal corridor will rise and disconnect from the simulator. At this time, the entire simulator is supported by several hydraulic devices below.

These hydraulic devices cause the simulator to move at different amplitudes based on signals input by the pilot and environmental signals, thus accurately reflecting the state of a real flight.

Generally speaking, pilots rarely undergo static model training because it is meaningless to those with even a little experience. Static model training is only given to trainees as an adaptation during the initial conversion training period.

Actually, dynamic models can also be used to practice flight procedures, but it's unnecessary. Why? Dynamic models cost much more than static models, but for practicing procedures, there's no difference between static and dynamic models.

Flying static models is like playing a flight game, which isn't very interesting. Moving models are much more realistic and fun.
