NBA: A collection of super busts

Chapter 51 Idea King, Casual Guy, and Action King

After the game, the Marquette players returned to school and received the highest level of welcome and treatment. For a while afterward, they lived like superstars at school, with classmates and teachers everywhere wanting to get their autographs and take photos with them.

In this situation, the school teachers simply told them not to go to class.

It's really disrupting classroom discipline.

Especially students like Ye Feng and Wade, whose academic performance was comparable to that of elite junior high school students, were regarded as a scourge by the teachers.

These guys used to just not study themselves, but now even their classmates, seeing them, don't want to study anymore, or rather, can't study anymore.

So they simply stayed away from classrooms and lessons, since they weren't planning to continue their studies anyway.

After wandering around campus for a few days, a few campus hooligans were extremely bored.

As we all know, when a few bored men get together, they are bound to produce a genius of ideas, a free spirit, and an action king.

"Speaking of which, Ye, you're from Chicago, but I've never been to your house, and I don't even know where you live in Chicago," Wade said, lying on his dorm bed. "We've got nothing better to do, how about we go back sometime?"

"Either is fine, I'm easygoing." Ye Feng shrugged, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.

"But I might not have the money for a plane ticket," Dina said somewhat embarrassedly. "My parents definitely wouldn't be willing to pay for that extra expense."

"I can handle it," Edwards said, patting his chest confidently. "Let's go."

"Go?" Wade was stunned. "Shouldn't we call ahead to ask about flight times and prices, find a suitable discounted ticket, and then set off?"

"You'll soon be an NBA player earning a million-dollar annual salary, so be generous." Ye Feng was the first to stand up, casually pulling a few pieces of clothing from his locker and stuffing them into his backpack: "I'm ready."

"I'm all set too!" Wade jumped up as soon as he heard this, not even bothering to bring his underwear.

"Why bother looking at discounted tickets when we're just going to Chicago?" Edwards chuckled. "Let's go!"

Now that things have come to this, what else can Dina say?

The four of them left the school directly, and a few hours later, they landed at the Chicago airport.

"Where to go first?" After landing, Ye Feng looked at the group. "Is there anywhere you'd like to go?"

"Anything is fine!" The three of them said almost in unison, especially Wade, who, despite being from Chicago, didn't have any opinion at all.

"Let's go to my place first. I haven't been back in a long time," Ye Feng said. "Let's go!"

Ye Feng found the car rental company at the airport with familiarity, rented a car, and then led the three of them out of the airport.

Dina clearly hadn't traveled far from home much; he was a native Milwaukee resident, so he kept exclaiming in amazement and admiration as he looked at Chicago's magnificent buildings and famous landmarks.

Edwards was much better. Coming from a wealthy family, he was familiar with everything and just chatted idly in the car.

"I knew you were something special!" Wade, a Chicago native, suddenly laughed and said, "Austin Avenue is just ahead, and turning west leads to Oak Park, the best neighborhood on the entire West Side! I always dreamed of owning a house here when I was a kid!"

"That way I can stay away from gangs and drugs. What does your family do? The most common profession for Asians is chef. Is the biggest Asian restaurant in Chicago... FUXX? Ye, you're going the wrong way! This is the east!"

"I know," Ye Feng said calmly. "Do you think I don't know where I live?"

Upon hearing this, Wade's smile and anticipation vanished instantly, and many of his previously perplexing questions were suddenly answered.

It's normal that Dina and Edwards, who have never been to Chicago, don't know.

But he's a Chicagoan and knows this place like the back of his hand!

To the east of this road lies the infamous Austin neighborhood, the area with the highest crime rate, the most dangerous neighborhood, and the most gangs in the entire West Side of Chicago.

Wade, who was determined to escape this dangerous neighborhood, knew nothing about other things but was all too familiar with this kind of place: the Austin neighborhood has about 65000 residents, and 10.43 out of every 1000 people have been involved in or led violent crimes.

This includes, but is not limited to, robbery, fighting, theft, drug trafficking, illegal possession of firearms, and even murder or other serious crimes.

While this figure may not compare to the more infamous Greenwood and Laundall, these top-tier "dens of iniquity" are still quite astonishing.

Given the large population here, based on this probability calculation, there are approximately 700 gang members among the 65000 residents.

While Greenwood and Lowndall have higher crime rates, these two areas only have a population of 2 to 3.

So if we're talking about the total number of criminals, this place isn't any less than those two places.

The mystery of why Ye Feng, that bastard, is so good at fighting and has such a bad temper, was instantly solved.

How can you live in a place like this if you can't fight?

As the car continued its journey, the houses on both sides of the street began to appear noticeably dilapidated, and graffiti became more and more prevalent. Instead of luxury cars, dangerous individuals wearing hoodies, loitering around with bulging pockets appeared on the road.

"Now I finally understand why Ye rented this beat-up Honda," Dina said, swallowing hard. "For safety."

"No," Ye Feng finally spoke, "it's because it's cheap. This is the cheapest car the rental company offers."

As they were talking, Ye Feng finally pulled the car over to the side of the road, while Wade was quickly changing his clothes.

When he arrived, he was wearing a stylish all-white tracksuit.

He wouldn't dare get out of the car in such a flashy outfit in a place like this.

In Chicago, there are countless gangs, big and small, and regardless of their size, each gang has its own favorite and revered color.

For example, the famous GD gang all wear black clothes.

Wandering around the neighborhood in a plain-colored tracksuit is basically telling everyone that you are a member of a certain gang.

Wade had no idea who was in charge of this neighborhood, nor did he know what color was worshipped here.

What if we just had a bloody battle with some gang dressed in white? What if I get killed as soon as I get out of the car?

After changing into less flashy clothes, Wade finally breathed a sigh of relief, and then looked at Ye Feng, who had already gotten out of the car.

His eyes widened again.

This guy actually walked up to a guy wearing a hoodie on the side of the road, and what's even more terrifying is that this guy was holding a dagger and was robbing him!

"What the hell is he doing!" Dina exclaimed. "Being a hero isn't something you can do now, or here!"

"Help!" Wade shouted without hesitation, then pushed open the car door and ran out. Edwards and Dina were only a step behind him, quickly getting out of the car as well, ready to help.

But what happened next completely exceeded their expectations.
