NBA: A collection of super busts

Chapter 52 Is your brother Daredevil?

Ye Feng walked over, but not too close. He stopped a distance away and called out, "Hey, what are you doing?"

"Ye?" The young man who was robbing Ye Feng took two steps back as if he had seen a ghost. Then, he even dropped the knife in his hand to the ground. Meanwhile, the man being robbed seized the opportunity to turn around and run away.

"My brother let you settle down here, not for you to do this!" Ye Feng said. "Your father inside wouldn't want you doing this kind of lousy work either!"

"I just don't have money for food." The young man took off his hood, looking aggrieved. To Wade and the others' surprise, he wasn't Black, but Asian.

However, this guy is indeed quite thin, and his physique fits the reason that he has no money for food.

"Then go find my brother." Ye Feng picked up the dagger and put it directly into his pocket. "Or is he abandoning you?"

"No." The young man's voice trailed off.

"Then get back to school." Ye Feng kicked him. "I'll tell my brother when I get back, and let's see which gang dares to take you in! Get lost."

After kicking him again, the Asian boy slunk away.

Ye Feng turned around and looked at the three men rushing towards him menacingly: "What are you doing?"

"help....."

"Why would I need your help here? Let's go." Ye Feng casually tossed the dagger into the trash can and got back into the car.

"What does your brother do?" Wade was the first to be unable to contain his curiosity.

"You'll find out soon." Ye Feng drove for less than 5 minutes before stopping the car again.

This time, the car stopped in front of a martial arts gym.

The entrance to the martial arts school was quite lively, with 7-8 young people chatting there.

Upon seeing a car approaching, the group immediately became serious, with several men even placing their hands on their waists or in their pockets. However, upon recognizing Ye Feng, they quickly put on smiling faces again.

Several of them even bowed to Ye Feng and greeted him as he walked inside.

"This shop is run by my brother," Ye Feng explained as they walked. "He teaches people some self-defense techniques, but not martial arts. If someone gets injured, he can also treat minor injuries like bruises and sprains."

"Just a martial arts instructor?" Wade said. "I don't believe it! A martial arts instructor, how could he have this kind of reputation in this neighborhood? And how could he keep so many Asians living here? Impossible!"

Wade just saw that among the people at the door, there were several Asians.

These Asians are clearly doing well here and have fully integrated into the community, which is hard to imagine in other impoverished neighborhoods of Chicago.

Ye Feng did not answer his question, but when they pushed open a door to a room, Wade immediately shut up and stopped asking.

He saw a guy who was as big and muscular as a bear, and not only was he huge, but he also had a face full of menacing features. He looked like a combination of Barkley and O'Neal, but even more ferocious than the two.

Compared to him, Ye Feng was as well-behaved as a primary school student.

What frightened Wade and the others even more was that there were two packets of white powder on the guy's table that were clearly not laundry detergent, and three handguns on the other side.

"You're back, bro?" Big Bear looked up at the group, his eyes quite friendly.

"You're back. These are my good friends," Ye Feng introduced. "This is my older brother, Ye Lin. He used to be a policeman in this neighborhood, but he lost his job due to some incidents and opened a boxing gym here."

"I know them," Ye Lin said to the other three. "Wade, Dina, Edwards, right? I've watched every game I could. I even went to New Orleans a few days ago, but I couldn't get tickets; they wouldn't let me in."

"Call me! I can let you in."

"No need," Ye Lin shrugged. "I can't let it interfere with your game. But you, why did you suddenly come back?"

"What are these two piles?" Ye Feng asked, pointing to the things on the table.

"This pile belongs to the Lords' Gang. Those bastards actually dared to sell this stuff here! I chased them away. Officer Ford will be here soon to confiscate this stuff and give them a warning."

"This pile belongs to those bastards at the gate. I don't know where they got it from. I confiscated it. They should be at school, not messing around on the streets."

At this point, Wade and the others understood why Ye Feng had such influence in this region.

It's possible that all the gang members in this neighborhood were trained by his brother. Plus, he seems to provide for people, teach them to be good, has connections with the police, and is incredibly powerful himself...

Given his brother's background and profession, it would be strange if he didn't have influence here. Let alone protecting a few Asians, he could probably even plant a flag and start a gang here without any problem.

According to his brother, this guy even seems to have a bit of a vigilante and neighborhood protector vibe...

The local residents and even gang members have to give them face.

Even Wade began to wonder: Why did Ye Lin lose his police job back then? Was it because his superiors protected criminals and framed innocent people, or because of other injustices, openly confronting the police station and losing his job, but in doing so, he gained the recognition and respect of the neighborhood?

Wade should become a screenwriter; he has a very rich imagination.

That's actually why Ye Feng brought the group here.

Ye Feng hoped they would broaden their thinking and use their imaginations to the fullest, ideally imagining their brother as Batman, Daredevil, or something similar.

This is also one of the reasons why he believes Edwards and Dina, the two guys who joined his team, won't betray him.

Who would be so kind as to risk getting killed to swindle money from Ye Feng after seeing this?

With the camaraderie of university classmates plus the threat of force, Ye Feng believed that the three of them would definitely cooperate seamlessly in the future...

Afterwards, the group ate something in the neighborhood and strolled around for a long time.

Wade swore this was the most peaceful slum he had ever seen. Although the streets were covered in graffiti and gangsters were everywhere, these people would either avoid Ye Feng from a distance or come over to greet him with a high-five as if he were their boss.

For Dina, an ordinary white-collar family, and Edwards, the son of a wealthy family, this was their first time entering such a place. They kept talking in hushed tones, after all, this place was as mysterious to them as Hogwarts.

"I don't think this kind of place is anything to be afraid of," Edwards said. "My parents always told me how dangerous this kind of place was and that I should never go near it under any circumstances."

"Looking at it now, it's just so-so."

"Then you can come by yourself next time," Ye Feng said. "Come at night, and you'd better bring your expensive watch, luxury car, and all your designer clothes."

"Let's talk about what to eat tonight." Edwards swallowed hard. He'd just never been here before, he wasn't really stupid.
