Chapter 143 The Virtual Realm

Led by Ling Hao, Mu Kange arrived at the Void Realm Research Institute on Canglang Star. On the way, Ling Hao also explained to Mu Kange what the Void Realm was.

The nature of the virtual realm leans towards the so-called imaginary space. The three-dimensional space of the real world can be described by three sets of real numbers, while according to the definition of imaginary numbers, imaginary numbers can be represented by points on the number line.

Unlike real numbers, imaginary numbers cannot be compared in size, but this does not affect the construction of the imaginary space. The mathematical conversion between the real number space and the imaginary number space can be called the Fourier transform, so the imaginary number space can also be called the Fourier space.

If we refer to the real world, that is, the space of real numbers, to construct the imaginary space, its characteristics should be: a point in the real number space is an infinite three-dimensional volume in the imaginary space, and an infinite three-dimensional volume in the real number space is a point in the imaginary space.

The theory that elementary particles constitute everything in the world shows that the universe cannot be fully described by mathematics. The existence of irrational numbers makes it impossible for redundant infinite non-repeating decimals to correspond to reality. However, the emergence of quantum mechanics seems to fill this gap.

The uncertainty of quantum mechanics in the microscopic world seems to have infinitely many details, which can be correlated with irrational numbers. Therefore, we can conclude that the imaginary space can be correlated with the imaginary numbers in mathematics. Thus, real solutions correspond to the real universe space, and imaginary solutions correspond to the imaginary space.

However, the virtual realm is not a completely imaginary space. After all, when things in the real space enter the imaginary space, everything stops. As a result, the imaginary space can basically only store inanimate objects. Living things that enter are similar to entering a hibernation chamber, and they need external force to revive.

The virtual realm and the imaginary space are intricately connected. The main reason the Emperor created it was to enable even technologically underdeveloped civilizations to break the light-speed barrier.

Wormhole travel technology requires a lower level of the star system to be achieved, while the hyperspace engine for hyperspace travel through the virtual realm can be created at a higher level of the star system.

The Emperor's love for all living beings led Him to create psychic energy. The emergence of psychic energy gave intelligent life powerful individual combat abilities, making them less vulnerable in the face of natural disasters.

Strictly speaking, all psionicists are merely a byproduct of high technology.

However, while intelligent life gains benefits, it also bears risks. That is, virtual gods will be born because of their faith, and these virtual gods may one day invade and create their civilization.

This can be seen as a measure to prevent civilization from becoming immersed in theology. Even if they don't survive, they won't be wiped out. At most, they will be captured by the gods of the Void Realm and become their servants. If this civilization is capable, it is not impossible for them to overthrow those gods of the Void Realm and regain their freedom in the future.

The unique environment of the virtual realm also provided a suitable home for electromagnetic field creatures. Every time these creatures spread through the air, that is, when they move, they consume a lot of energy. It can be said that without certain methods, they will die on their own if left unattended.

Besides these, there are the true virtual beings. Virtual beings have only one consciousness but many bodies, which are called Gestalt beings.

"Then, brother, what opportunities can be found in the Void Realm?" Mu Kange asked, puzzled.

The two arrived in front of the "Void Realm Bridge," a wondrous tool that allows people to enter the Void Realm. It's something that ordinary people can't afford; even those with money might not be able to use it.

"There are universes in the virtual realm, and those universes are divided into different parts, so as long as we go to the right universe, we have a high probability of improving ourselves," Ling Hao replied, pushing up his glasses.

The virtual universe is vast and encompasses a wide range of issues, from constant differences to physical differences to logical differences—it has everything.

The weak can improve themselves by experiencing different universes, while the strong can expand their thinking by traveling to different universes. As long as one does not reach the level of a Star God, one can become stronger in the virtual realm.

"Oh... is this a departure from the usual multiverse style?" Mu Kange scratched his head, feeling that it probably wouldn't. With his talent, he would at most play around for a while before breaking through to the Manifestation stage, and then continue to explore new maps in the real world to become stronger.

The two then entered the Void Realm through the Void Realm Bridge. The first thing they saw was the universe that Ling Hao had mentioned earlier, which had been divided up by the [Emperor].

When Mu Kange saw it, he felt that the visual effects were very strong and shocking, while Ling Hao learned about the structure of these universes in the virtual realm through quantum computing.

The virtual realm has infinite levels, and each level contains an infinite universe. The universe of the first level is infinitely large, possessing infinite mass, energy, and spacetime, and countless laws and principles intertwined.

The first level is based on one's own body size as the growth factor. The recursion of the number of times one's own body size is repeated is called the first level of change. Repeating the first level of change of the number of times one's own body size is called the second level of change, and so on, with infinitely many levels of change, is the second level.

If the calculation of one's own size as a multiple of growth is a first-level calculation, then the second-level calculation is the operation from the first level to the second level. The second universe performs the second-level calculation based on the number of times its own size increases, repeating the recursion of the number of times its own size increases, which is a first-order, first-level iteration.

Repeating the previous operations based on the number of times the body is used as a first-order double iteration. Each time you advance to a new level or order, all the previous operations will be treated as a new calculation.

Until there are infinite orders and infinite weights, a third level will be obtained. The operations from the first level to the third level can be called three-level operations. The third level repeats the previous operations with the third level itself as the number of times, which is the fourth level, and so on.

This is without taking into account the synergy of the timeline. After all, [Crown], [Immortal], and [Seat] need to undergo trials, so [Emperor] specially made the virtual realm extremely solid.

"Brother, what should we do next?" Mu Kange looked at the dazzling universe with some confusion and quickly asked Ling Hao.

"Do you know why, even though the Void Realm Bridge has been built, the number of times you can enter it is limited?" Ling Hao asked Mu Kange, looking at the vast universe.

Mu Kange shook his head. How could he possibly know that?

Ling Hao manipulated his and Mu Kange's terminals, and a screen appeared before their eyes. He said, "Each civilization has a limited number of trials, but these are replenished over time. We must use up our attempts to go to the Void Universe; otherwise, even if we get in, we'll just be wandering around outside."

"Oh, of course. Once an individual warrior reaches the [Dominator] level, they can create their own account, and once they reach the [Crown] level, there is no limit to the number of times they can create an account," Ling Hao added.
