Chapter 38 The Real Factional Division
Not long after Mukange left the secluded village with his suitcase, he discovered a very strange plant, which was probably a plant.
The plant looks like a sphere enclosing an eyeball, with some fine hairs at the bottom and several roots on its main body. It is staring at Mukange with half-closed eyes, as if it is subtly revealing disdain and speechlessness.
"You little thing, you're really something," Mu Kange complained in front of the plant, and was about to reach out and poke it.
To Mu Kange's surprise, before his fingers even touched it, the thought inexplicably arose in his mind: 'Finally, I've found you. I'll quickly transplant this plant onto you.'
"What is that?" Mu Kange asked, puzzled.
"I am Ling Hao, and I am communicating with you through this plant. Let's transplant it onto you so that I can directly transmit data to you." Based on the plant's current appearance, Mu Kange seemed to see a helpless Ling Hao.
Mu Kange, unsure how to transplant plants onto his body, quickly asked, "What should I do?"
"Pull it out, then place the rootstock into the wound you dug, preferably one directly connected to a blood vessel." Then, to Mu Kange's astonishment, the plant suddenly began to sway, just like the sunflower in Plants vs. Zombies.
Mu Kange hesitated for a moment, but his danger perception did not react, and he finally obediently did as he was told, transplanting the plant onto his arm.
Then Mu Kange felt that he no longer needed to speak to communicate with Ling Hao. This strange feeling instantly made Mu Kange very interested in the demon.
"I'll mark a coordinate now, and we'll talk as we walk." Ling Hao transmitted a three-dimensional map of the entire barbarian island's surface into Mu Kange's mind and marked a location on it.
The so-called surface layer is only the surface and has no inside. For example, if a mountain is connected to an underground mine, then the part about the underground mine is missing.
Mu Kange input the map given to him by Ling Hao into the terminal. Since it only required visualizing in his mind to input, no errors occurred.
Seeing the new directional arrow in front of him, Mu Kange immediately put on the Severing Worldly Ties skill, instantly boosting his physical attributes to the level of a first-level Void Apprentice.
There was nothing that was out of place; everything from the outside world could be fed back to Mukange, whether it was the wind or the smell, it could be perceived without any hindrance.
To his surprise, instead of becoming stronger as he had imagined, Mu Kange felt a sense of liberation and release, as if this was the power he was meant to have.
"How strange... I thought it was a Super Saiyan transformation, but it's more like Frieza's power release." Mu Kange was quite puzzled.
"What are you talking about? Is it about psionic weapons?" Ling Hao asked, his mind connected to Mu Kange's, as he could read Mu Kange's thoughts.
As Mu Kange ran towards their destination, he replied, "Yes, I originally thought that putting on the psionic armor would make it go from zero to a positive number, but it turned out to be from a negative number to zero."
"Well, that brings us to the Void Realm," Ling Hao began to explain to Mu Kange.
Everything about a psychic is inseparable from psychic energy. Similarly, the virtual realm, as the source of psychic energy, is naturally even more important. Only in the virtual realm can a psychic fully unleash their power, while in the real world they will be constrained by their environment.
The reason why only armor or bio-suits can directly enhance physical fitness in psionic combat is to completely cover the psionicist, so as to deeply connect with the virtual realm and thus unleash the psionicist's true power.
"I see. So, an unequipped psionicist is essentially crippled." Mu Kange quickly understood the situation and asked, "By the way, what were you originally going to tell me?"
"Tell me what you learned in the secluded village first," Ling Hao said, not directly, but instead asking Mu Kange questions.
Mu Kange had no objections and told Ling Hao what he had seen and heard in the secluded village.
"I see... then things are becoming clearer." Ling Hao sighed after hearing this. He couldn't get his eyes in the core of the camp, so he couldn't know the specifics.
"No, what's become clear?" Mu Kange asked, puzzled.
Ling Hao didn't keep him in suspense, explaining, "Think about it, with three factions, why does the secluded village only have two factions that target outsiders? And they just happen to be xenophobic and pro-outsider?"
"Regarding the rules for defection, what constitutes defection? The criteria aren't clearly defined, are they?"
"Therefore, I deduce that to win someone over to the side of outsiders, one would need to start with the deputy city lord who is close to outsiders and has been sent to the front lines. Conversely, what if one wants to get close to demons?"
"Furthermore, according to information I've gathered from other sources, it seems that each of the three major factions is divided into two sub-factions, and by that logic, the three factions are subtly connected to each other."
Upon hearing this, Mu Kange felt as if he had been struck by lightning, and instantly realized what was happening. He asked, "You mean, the city lord of the secluded village might be colluding with demons?"
Ling Hao did not give a definite answer: "It's hard to say, just a guess, but I think the six factions are most likely interconnected in a three-by-three pattern. Furthermore, 'turning them into defection' could also refer to turning different factions within the same camp into defections, achieving a major breakthrough."
"Furthermore, there's the connection between these two circles, where a fundamental conflict is bound to exist. This first collaboration between the three parties is likely just the prelude to the emergence of this conflict."
Mu Kange wholeheartedly agreed, since this was the entry point for the participants, and naturally they had to choose something that could intensify the conflict.
"Then there are the participants in the monster spies; I can roughly guess how they operated," Ling Hao added.
"To be honest, I've never met any members of the demon spy faction." Mu Kange was also curious about how this peculiar faction operated.
Ling Hao conveyed a hint of a smile through the plant: "Do you know what kind of people spies are most likely to die at the hands of?"
Before Mu Kange could answer, Ling Hao continued, "Spies are easily killed by their own people. To deceive the enemy, you must first deceive your own people. Following this line of reasoning, I'm afraid the participants in the demon spy camp are unaware that they belong to the demon spy camp."
Mu Kange was startled upon hearing this. Even the spy himself didn't know he was an undercover agent. How could he be exposed? There was no way he could be exposed.
"By the way, what place did you mark?" Mu Kange asked quickly when he saw Ling Hao stop.
"Ah, the first collaboration between the three parties is to explore ruins. I don't know which one specifically, but the one I marked for you should be a ruin that no one has ever been to before," Ling Hao explained.
Upon hearing this news, Mu Kange stumbled, questioning Ling Hao in disbelief, "No way, me, a mere lowly being at the Danger Perception stage, trying to solo a map that could kill three level three Void Apprentices? Are you trying to kill me?"
