I am an insect
Chapter 22 Vajrabodhi Bodhisattva
As one of the many tourist attractions in Ancheng, and with its flourishing incense offerings, it can be said that both Ji Ye and Wang Yecheng have visited the Jin Gang Zhi Temple in their memories, so Ji Ye is quite familiar with it.
However, this was the first time I had ever climbed the wall like this and observed the Vajraji Temple in the night.
What comes into view is a magnificent hall in the distance, called the Vajrabodhi Hall, which is the core of the Vajrabodhi Temple and contains a statue of Vajrabodhi Bodhisattva.
At this moment, the surging energy of intent swirled around this hall, and in the darkness of night, Ji Ye could sense the intense energy fluctuations around the hall. In particular, within the hall, something seemed to be gestating, ready to burst forth at any moment.
This feeling was extremely strange and terrifying. Ji Ye sensed it slightly in the darkness of the night, and his mental body became very active, as if something was there, strongly attracting his mental body.
After hesitating for a long time, Ji Ye made sure that no one was around before finally turning over and quietly entering.
It was late at night, and although there were many monks living in the Vajra Wisdom Temple, they were mostly asleep. Ji Ye tried his best to avoid the temple's surveillance cameras and quietly approached the Vajra Wisdom Hall to see what was going on inside.
Without taking a look, he couldn't get rid of his inner demons and enter a meditative state. The main hall was right in front of him, and although he knew it was strange and unpredictable inside, he had no choice but to go and see for himself.
Fortunately, there was no one around. Ji Ye quickly approached the main hall, and his mental body became increasingly active, attracted by something inside the hall.
Upon arriving at the front of the main hall, one immediately sees two rows of iron racks in the plaza ahead, filled with lit candles, and in the middle is a giant bronze censer filled with incense sticks.
Ji Ye knew that believers entering the Vajrabodhi Temple would light incense and candles here before entering the hall to worship Vajrabodhi Bodhisattva.
He was stunned when he saw the giant bronze furnace and the two rows of iron frames holding candles.
Amidst the smoke of incense and candles, he saw a vast amount of mental energy seemingly influenced by the incense and candles, continuously converging towards this place. In particular, the giant bronze censer, filled with incense sticks, was centered on which endless mental energy gathered and surged towards the Vajra Wisdom Hall in front of him.
A tremendous wave of emotion surged within Ji Ye.
His first thought was that when worshipping ancestors, one needs to burn paper money and incense. He had always thought that this might be superstition, just an ancestral worship ritual passed down from the ancients. But at this moment, his understanding was completely overturned.
Could this incense really possess the ability to influence and attract mental energy? And this incense is offered to the Vajrabodhi Bodhisattva statue inside the main hall. At this moment, this continuous stream of mental energy is surging towards the main hall. Could it be...?
Ji Ye felt a chill run down his spine; he couldn't quite believe it.
Of course, he understood that the incense could attract the energy of thought, perhaps not entirely because of the burning incense and candles, but more importantly because these incense contained the beliefs that believers placed in them. Belief is also a kind of thought. One person's belief may be weak, but when countless believers' obsessions come together, the power of thought that is condensed will become unimaginably strong, thereby attracting endless energy of thought in the world.
It even interfered with and affected the mental entity within one's own body.
"I'm afraid this situation has been going on for who knows how long, year after year... won't something change...?"
A chill ran down Ji Ye's spine as he approached the two tightly closed, massive wooden doors of the main hall.
Although the wooden door was tightly closed, there was a large gap in the middle, allowing one to observe the situation inside.
He took a deep breath, pressed his lips against the crack in the door, and peered into the main hall.
Candles were also lit in the main hall, so it wasn't completely dark. He could vaguely see what was happening inside the hall through the crack in the door.
At the center of the main hall stands a giant Bodhisattva statue. The statue is bluish-white in color, with its left hand clenched into a fist and its right hand holding a blue lotus flower with a single vajra on it. It is the image of Vajrabodhi Bodhisattva.
Ji Ye's eyes were completely drawn to the giant Vajrabodhisattva statue. He watched as the power of thought surging into the hall converged into the statue, where the power of thought was surging violently, forming a blurry humanoid phantom. This phantom seemed to struggle inside the statue, sometimes half of its body would emerge through the statue, and sometimes it would hide inside, appearing strange and inexplicable.
Of course, this scene is invisible to the naked eye of ordinary people; only someone like Ji Ye, who can see adult insects that can perceive mental entities, can see it.
"Unbelievable! Over the years, countless believers have worshipped Vajrabodhi Bodhisattva here. All this faith has been concentrated in this statue, and yet... yet it has actually been able to condense into a spiritual entity within it?"
"Although this spiritual entity is not yet complete, it already has a human form... Judging from its appearance, once it can break free from this statue... could this spiritual entity truly transform into Vajrabodhi Bodhisattva?"
Ji Ye couldn't imagine what kind of being the will within this statue would be if it truly condensed and formed a will entity. Would it be just a simple will entity without memories? Or would it truly be Vajrabodhi Bodhisattva?
If this is true, then what about the legendary gods and Buddhas?
The more Ji Ye thought about it, the stranger it seemed. He only needed to sense the struggling consciousness within the statue to feel it slightly before his hair stood on end. The mental energy contained within this consciousness was ridiculously powerful. He dared not delve any deeper to sense it, for fear of suffering a backlash.
Just then, he suddenly felt the blurry human figure struggling inside the statue suddenly stop and become motionless.
"Hmm?" Ji Ye was a little puzzled. He looked closely and suddenly the paused, blurry human figure seemed to struggle outwards. A huge, blurry human face emerged from the statue, and its eyes rolled back, looking at him.
At the same instant, Ji Ye felt an inexplicable chill wash over him like a tidal wave. He shivered involuntarily, and the mental image he had condensed within his body was impacted, almost dissipating.
Terrified, Ji Ye retreated abruptly, not caring about revealing his whereabouts, and turned to flee, wanting only to get as far away from this place as possible.
The presence of the statues in this hall is truly bizarre.
Ji Ye was extremely fast. In one sprint, he covered seven or eight meters in an instant. Suddenly, his legs went weak, as if all his strength had been drained. He lost his balance and tumbled down the steps outside the main hall.
He reacted quickly, bracing himself with his hands on the ground and flipping forward to steady himself. Turning his head to look behind him, he saw smoke billowing out from between the two tightly closed giant wooden doors of the main hall.
This power of thought was almost tangible, transforming into smoke that rushed towards him.
