An insect's life cycle consists of four developmental stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. A human's life also goes through four developmental stages: the fetus is the egg, the human is the larva, and the corpse is the pupa. After the first seven days, the second seven days, and finally the forty-nine days, the human emerges from the pupa to become… an adult!
