Norn walked ahead, his pace much faster than when he came, almost jogging.

At that moment, all he wanted was to get Dante to Arno as quickly as possible and then run far away.

If this old man finds out that he has some kind of relationship with Arno, he'll probably be dealt with along with him.

Norn stopped in front of a thicket of bushes, parted the branches blocking his way, and revealed the hole behind it, which was half-hidden by vines.

"This is it. I remember the monster was hiding inside." Norn stepped aside and pointed to the cave entrance.

Dante stepped forward, calmly glanced at the dark opening, then turned to Norn with a gentle smile.

"Thank you, Mr. Norn."

"Then I'll be going now." Norn practically blurted out the words, already taking a step back. "Take care of yourself."

Dante did not enter the cave, but watched Norn leave.

Just as Norn was about to disappear into a bush, Dante suddenly raised his right hand, and a soft golden light appeared in his palm.

The forest surrounding Norn suddenly seemed to have been crushed by a giant hand, with green, brown, and gold all mixed together, turning into a chaotic mass of colors that spun rapidly before his eyes.

The bushes in front of him twisted into a dark brown iron gate, and he was standing in a corridor covered with a dark red carpet, with the surrounding wall lamps illuminating the area brightly.

Norn naturally reached into his pocket, pulled out a room key, and stuck it on the sensor screen.

With a "beep", the door lock popped open.

Pushing open the door, the bathroom door on the left was open, and residual steam poured out, carrying the sweet scent of shower gel and shampoo.

On the large bed in the room, his girlfriend lay lazily playing on her phone.

She wore a pink slip dress that shimmered faintly under the light; it was so thin it was almost transparent, perfectly showcasing her beautiful figure.

When she saw Norn return, a beautiful smile immediately appeared on her face.

"Come and eat, I bought your favorite grilled squid." Norn placed a bag of barbecue on the table.

His girlfriend ignored the late-night snacks, walked straight up to Norn, and put her arms around his neck.

A warm body pressed against him, and Norn's head was gently buried in his girlfriend's chest. The scent of shower gel mixed with her body fragrance violently rushed into his nostrils, like a bomb exploding in his mind.

Norn felt his breathing become heavy, and his hands involuntarily wrapped around her waist.

The fabric of the nightgown was so thin it was like a layer of gauze, as if her body had been coated with essential oil.

They stumbled and fell onto the bed, the girlfriend kissing Norn as she unbuttoned his collar.

"Wait a minute, I haven't showered yet," Norn said, gently pushing his girlfriend's head away.

"No rush, answer one question for me first."

His girlfriend suddenly spoke, her fingers gently stroking Norn's Adam's apple.

"How did you know that monster escaped here? This place is so far away from that manor, you couldn't have followed it all the way here, could you?"

"I brought it here," Norn said as if in a dream. "It won't hurt me, and it understands what I say."

The world collapsed the moment the last word was uttered.

My girlfriend's face looked as if it had been torn in two by an invisible hand, revealing a chaotic mass of color behind it.

The hotel's walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, king-size bed, carpets—everything shattered like a kaleidoscope, with colorful fragments swirling in the air.

At that moment, Norn felt a sharp pain in his right arm, which completely jolted him out of the lingering effects of the hallucination.

The surrounding scenery returned to the forest, and Arno stood in front of him.

Its tall, gray-black body stood like a wall in front of him, the white cracks on its back gleaming coldly in the sunlight. From its slightly hunched back and taut limbs, one could tell that it was in a state of extreme tension.

A pool of blood had accumulated at Arno's feet, and several blood snakes continued to spread downwards along Arno's legs.

Dante stood before Arno, holding his golden greatsword and staring at the two men.

His expression remained calm, but there was no trace of kindness in it. The murderous intent in his eyes almost materialized into two knives, sweeping over Norn and Arno.

"My intuition was right; you were indeed suspicious." Dante finished speaking, a smile playing on his lips. "Very well, killing you and this monster together will save a lot of trouble."

Although Arno couldn't understand Dante's words, he clearly understood Dante's meaning. Several layers of blood-red shields instantly appeared in front of him, blocking Arno's path.

"You're quite protective of your master, aren't you? Let's see how many of my attacks your paper-thin shield can withstand!"

Dante raised the golden greatsword, its magic crystals glowing, and rings of magic circles appeared around the blade, spinning rapidly.

"Wait! There's a misunderstanding here! I'm not a dark sorcerer!"

Norn knew he was no match for Dante, so he quickly raised his arms in surrender.

Suddenly he noticed something was wrong: why couldn't he raise his right hand?

He turned his head to look at his right side. The sleeve of his blue robe, along with his arm inside, was gone. The clean cut was a bloody mess, and a lot of blood had flowed out, staining his clothes red.

Norn recalled the pain he felt during the hallucination and quickly understood the reason.

The old man launched an attack the instant he received the answer. If Arno hadn't blocked it in time, he would probably be a pile of pieces by now!

Norn turned his head and saw his bleeding right arm in the grass beside him.

The pain from the severed arm came quickly, but there was no time to pick it up and heal it. He hurriedly used his healing technique to heal the broken ends.

At this moment, Dante's greatsword was enveloped by layers of dense magic arrays, and the colorful light made even the sunlight seem much dimmer.

⌈Sword of Oath⌋!

Dante swung his greatsword with one hand, and a thick beam of light shot through the air!

The blinding white light reflected the surprised expressions of Norn and Arno. The next second, the beam of light collided with Arno's shield.

The massive impact stirred up the surrounding air, and powerful air currents rushed in all directions, causing large trees to sway and bushes to be almost uprooted.

The shield in front of Arno was constantly broken through and repaired, and the beam of light continued to advance to both sides with Arno as the dividing line.

A few seconds later, the beam of light gradually disappeared.

Arno was covered in burns and cracks, with blood almost covering his entire body. New flesh was slowly growing from the wounds, but the speed at which it generated shields was still not fast enough.

The ground beneath its feet and behind it remained intact, while the beams of light had carved two deep pits into its sides.

Dante shifted his gaze from the dying Arno and began searching for Norn's whereabouts.

He soon spotted Norn fleeing in the distance, raised his left hand, and a thin bolt of lightning shot out from his fingertip.

Norn froze and collapsed to the ground.
