In a dilapidated restaurant on the east side of Rot River, a greasy-haired man led Norn to the owner.

The owner knew that the long-haired man was not there to eat; in fact, normal people wouldn't eat here.

Norn took out four silver coins and handed them to the long-haired man as a brokerage fee.

"What do you want?" the boss asked.

"Neva worm venom."

The boss turned and went into the kitchen, then came out with a small bottle, which he waved at Norn.

"Three gold coins."

"So small?" Norn felt that the bottle was only slightly larger than his thumb.

"Don't you have any concept of this poison? Just dip a needle in it, and that tiny dose could kill someone! You probably wouldn't finish this whole bottle in your lifetime!"

"Alright, I'll take it." Norn placed the three gold coins on the table, and only after the shopkeeper pocketed them did he hand the poison bottle to Norn.

"Let me remind you, remember to wash your hands after using it, and don't touch the stopper carelessly. If you're planning to use it to commit suicide, then disregard what I said."

Norn wrapped the vial of venom in a rag and returned to the inn.

He's been busy with this for the past two days.

Because the Neva worm is too poisonous, it is prohibited from being sold on the market. Norn spent a long time finding a middleman to help sell it.

Everything he did was to kill Onsk.

On his way back after killing the rock dragon, Onsk did two things: boast about how much adventure experience he had and how good he was at killing people.

Its purpose in doing so is obvious: to prove that it is very important to Norn and that Norn's betrayal would only lead to death.

Although Onsk did not make a direct threat, the meaning was very clear.

Therefore, Norn felt it necessary to kill it, otherwise it would continue to be a destabilizing factor.

Killing Onsk is not difficult. When you go to the dungeon with it, you can possess a powerful monster and control it to easily kill Onsk.

However, the risk of this method is that Onsker could very well use his brainless self as a hostage.

After much deliberation, Norn still felt that poisoning was the safest option.

Back at the inn where it cost 20 copper coins a night, Norn carefully untied the tattered cloth and looked at the black bottle, intending to find a volunteer to test the poison.

Just then, a rustling sound came from behind, and a fat rat scurried out from under the bed, carrying a lump of unknown meat in its mouth.

It suddenly stopped halfway there and immediately spat out the rotten flesh in its mouth.

"Ugh! That's so disgusting!"

Norn's brain was transferred to the rat, and the various putrid smells in his mouth made his stomach churn.

Despite his discomfort, he climbed onto the table, used his pink little paws to pull out the cork, and then dipped his paws into the bottle to rinse them.

Dark purple liquid covered his entire hand. Norn put his hand to his mouth and licked and sucked it clean.

"It's quite sweet."

Norn disconnected, and the rat, having regained consciousness, was so frightened that it ran away as fast as it could, but after only a few steps it froze and collapsed to the ground.

Norn found a broken chair leg and poked the mouse with it.

Its belly was still rising and falling, and its limbs could even respond to Norn's poking, but it would never wake up.

Boom boom boom!

"Norn, Norn, are you in there? Have you had enough rest these past few days? Time to go make some money with your brother!"

Onsk's gruff voice came from outside the door. Norn quickly wrapped his hands in a cloth, stuffed the cork back in, and put it in the lining of his backpack.

The Golden Wood Tavern remained as popular as ever. Onsk stood tall, his muscular chest supporting the gleaming gold-level adventurer badge on his chest.

After delivering the magic crystal to the Rock Dragon Lizard, Onsk applied for a rank assessment based on his achievement of completing an A-rank mission, and ultimately succeeded in advancing to the Gold-rank adventurer.

It walked confidently to the task list, its gaze sweeping disdainfully over the B and C-level tasks, before tearing off an A-level task without hesitation:

Collect human-faced monkey brains.

The human-faced monkey is a social monster of the fifth level, inhabiting the depths of the dense Green Bone Forest.

Individually they are not strong, but when they gather in groups, they are very dangerous, especially since the mission location is in a dense forest.

But with Norn around, the task would be as easy as cutting butter with a hot knife.

All you need to do is have Norn control a monkey, let it break away from the group and run out of the forest, and then Onsk can open its skull and take its brain.

Just as Onsk was about to register at the guild counter, a hand suddenly grabbed its tail.

"Hey buddy, we had our eye on that mission first, could we have it?"

Onsk turned his head and saw five people standing behind him. The one leading them, pulling its tail, was an old man with silver hair. He had a light green iron badge around his neck, which was a genuine mithril-grade badge!

But Onsk remained unfazed: "Whoever gets it first gets it. Why should I give it to you?"

"Don't be so absolute. I'll buy you a drink, and you can give it to me." The man glanced at Onsk's golden badge and continued:

"This mission is still very dangerous. If you, a Gold-ranked player, go there, you'll just be throwing your life away."

Onsk immediately got angry: "Who said I'm alone? Norn! Come here!"

When Norn heard Onsk call his name, he walked over and was immediately pulled close by Onsk's furry arms.

"This is Lao Tzu's partner."

The man did not show any disdain when he saw the bronze badge on Norn's chest.

There are indeed powerful figures who deliberately avoid applying for level assessments and use the title of Bronze-level adventurer to hide their true strength, just like the red-haired girl behind him.

"Alright, Karentin, let them have it. Isn't there still an A-rank mission?"

The red-haired girl behind Karentin tore off a mission sheet. He glanced at it and shook his head: "This mission is too difficult. Hunting a king cobra? This can be rated A? The people in the association must be out of their minds."

Unexpectedly, the red-haired girl didn't back down after hearing this; instead, she became even more excited: "This is it! If you guys don't accept it, I'll go alone!"

Karentin scratched his head in embarrassment and had no choice but to reluctantly agree.

"The task is yours." With that, he led the group away.

Norn stared at the red-haired girl's departing figure, feeling that her identity must be extraordinary.

She was so beautiful that she exuded an indescribable air of nobility in the smallest details, just like the aristocratic ladies of the Backlanza district.

Onsk shook Norn's shoulder.

"You've got your eye on that girl? You have good taste. She's certainly beautiful in your human eyes."

But once we've finished the mission, I could take down seven or eight of those kinds of people at once. Don't just stand there, let's get ready and head out."

us?

Norn found those two words particularly jarring.

Onsk not only took half of the reward for the Rock Dragon Lizard mission, but also kept a few of the remaining magic crystals for himself.

He was clearly the main player, but this stinky Fu Rui got the lion's share of the profits!

However, this absurd situation will soon come to an end; today is your death day!
