"Hey! Found it!" a team member shouted, pointing to a hand sticking out from the pile of bones.
As everyone gathered around, Uru slowly opened his eyes and stretched comfortably.
"Sorry, fighting those broken bones is no fun anymore, they've made me sleepy."
"Hmph, you think you can just fall asleep the moment you're tired? I bet you were knocked unconscious," Shared said sarcastically.
"Are you kidding me? You saw how I fought; those skeletons couldn't even touch a hair on my head!"
"How many did you kill? How many did Arno kill?" Shared pointed to the mountains of broken bones around them. "He did all of this. You dare to boast about your meager contribution?"
Uru smiled nonchalantly, but when his gaze swept over the mountains of bones, he felt a chill run down his spine.
That's a monster! It probably wiped out all the skeletons in the entire castle!
Shared decided not to continue mocking Uru. Although he disliked the simple-minded barbarian, they were running low on supplies and needed to make the most of their time to explore the castle.
"Stop lying there, get up now," Shared said, turning and leaving.
The group walked on the pile of bones, their feet sinking deep into the ground, their eyes constantly fixed on the ground.
This is because there are some skeletons that haven't been completely destroyed hiding inside, ready to emerge and launch a sneak attack at any time.
But these no longer posed any threat, and the group left the platform without much trouble.
The staircase connecting the platform was also completely buried by bones, and the entire hall was covered with grayish-white bones.
Felix raised his wand, creating a whirlwind in the center of the hall. With a bang, countless bones were blown away, revealing a clean patch of ground.
"Let's cook something to replenish our energy first, and then we can continue exploring this castle."
Several iron pots were placed on a stand, with flames licking the bottom of the pots. When the porridge mixed with water fell into the pots, a loud sizzling sound rang out, and along with the rising steam, the aroma of grains enveloped everyone.
Everyone in the group was hungry, but this hunger was only for normal food. When they saw the soft, dark brown porridge, most of them frowned and forced themselves to swallow it.
"I'm going crazy! How can this stuff taste so awful!" Mur swallowed a spoonful of the paste painfully. The paste swelled up quickly in his stomach, and the intense feeling of fullness made him lose all desire to eat another bite.
"It's practically the same as shit!" Mur was about to throw away the rest of the paste when he was startled by Shared's stern gaze and stopped.
"Finish it all! There's not much food left, and if you keep wasting it like this, do you want to go home hungry?"
After scolding him, Shared scooped up a spoonful of paste and fed it into his mouth.
But he soon witnessed a delightful scene.
Norn cooked a lump of paste and then handed it to Arno.
Arno eagerly grabbed a handful of the paste and stuffed it into his mouth, smacking his lips as he swallowed it. Then, still wanting more, he lifted the iron pot and licked it.
If Sharred hadn't also been eating porridge, he would have really thought Arno was eating some kind of rare delicacy.
Sharred beamed with delight, pointing at Arno and exclaiming, "Look at this, everyone! This is the quality an expedition team should have! The quality of the food is insignificant; what matters is that it provides us with energy! You all should learn from this!"
As he spoke, Shared took a whole bag of porridge out of his backpack and handed it to Arno.
"You've worked hard, eat more!"
Norn looked at the large bag of paste and said, "Sir, this is too much. I don't have enough water."
"Use mine!" Shared was about to grab his own water bottle when he saw Arno tear open the packaging and pour the clump of dry, hard paste into his mouth and eat it.
"Holy crap, is this guy eating the same stuff as us? He looks like he's really enjoying it!"
"Why don't we give him our own porridge? If he's well-fed, he can better protect us."
In an instant, the team members gave Arno the porridge they couldn't finish, and Arno accepted it all and ate it all.
Seeing that Arno had suddenly become the pillar of the team, and even Shared praised him highly, Uru felt resentful.
Why does this bronze-level guy receive so much praise? Why am I, the strongest steel-level character, being relegated to the sidelines?
I am the team's guardian angel! I deserve your support!
Uru unconsciously began to exert force with his right hand, and broke the iron spoon in two.
He scooped up a lump of paste and swallowed it whole, mimicking Arno's behavior by barely chewing it, and nearly choked to death.
"Damn it! I'll remember you!" Uru gulped down a mouthful of water, thinking fiercely to himself.
After finishing his meal, Mur followed several Mithril-level individuals as they wandered around the Bone Ground, hoping to find some good stuff.
After all, those two mithril-level enemies died trying to steal the sword from the skeleton.
A short while later, Mur saw an iron sword stuck between the bones.
He crept over unnoticed, drew the sword, and carefully examined the patterns engraved on its surface.
Unfortunately, it wasn't an inscription, but just ordinary engravings, and the sword itself wasn't of good quality.
"Tch, what a piece of junk." Mur threw away his sword, certain that there was nothing good left in these bones.
At that moment, Shared's voice rang out; he was going to continue exploring the castle.
Emerging from the vast sea of bones in the hall, Sharred led the group into a side passage.
There were no windows in the passage, and it was very dark. Relying on lighting magic, Shared discovered that there were bases on the walls for holding torches, but the torches inside were also models made of magic rock.
This lighting method is now rarely seen in royal castles, having been replaced by brighter fluorite magic lights.
This further confirms Shared's judgment that the castle was nothing more than an identical replica of the castle of the Khan Khanate.
Charlotte felt disappointed. When he first discovered this place, he thought it was the ruins of some unknown civilization, but now it seemed to be nothing more than leftovers that had already been thoroughly studied.
The actual ruins of this castle are located at the foot of the Holy Mountain of the Papacy, and several books have been published about it.
However, this is also a good thing, at least for the other members of the team, as they will be able to go back soon.
The group wandered through the castle's labyrinthine passageways, but Norn discovered something amiss in one of the rooms.
"Sir, this room is a bit strange."
Norn's words made Shared turn around abruptly: "What did you find out?"
"The floor of this room doesn't seem to be made of magic rock."
Upon hearing this, Shared went inside and, after a careful inspection, discovered that it was indeed not magic rock, but ordinary stone: "Tina, blow up the floor."
Everyone left, and Tina stood at the doorway, casting an explosion spell on the stone ground.
A loud noise, accompanied by a gust of air, rushed out of the house, causing everyone to cover their faces.
After the smoke and dust cleared, the floor of the room was blown open, and a portal glowing with purple light appeared in front of everyone.
