"This monster actually has magic crystals? And they're red!"

Joso stared longingly at the crimson crystal that was shimmering red in the fire, and immediately used wind magic to extinguish the flames, hoping to steal it when the others weren't looking.

"Stop right there!" Louisa shouted, trying to stop her.

"Lady Louisa, we are not like important people like you. This magic crystal can sell for at least 50 gold coins on the market!"

This may not mean much to you, but it's almost half a year's income to us! Now that we've found the young lady, it's not unreasonable for us to take a magic crystal, is it?"

When Joso realized that his plan had been exposed, he simply changed the subject to "we" and held the magic crystal high in an attempt to gain the support of the others.

"Look closely, that's not a magic crystal!"

After listening to Louisa's words, Joso brought the "magic crystal" closer to his eyes and examined it again.

It's really different. Normally, the color of a magic crystal comes from the color of the mineral itself, but this one is crimson because of the red light emitted from its interior.

"This is blood crystal, an ingredient for casting dark magic."

Louisa recognized it at a glance, because the madness she had been infected with was a form of dark magic released using blood crystals.

The blood crystal contains the magic power of a deceased demon god, enabling Muggles without magic power to use magic.

Later, through the research of some magicians, they invented some spells that could only be activated by the magic power of demon gods, which were called black magic.

Initially, black magic was rejected by the kingdom simply because the magic it used was unorthodox. However, after the Luisa poisoning incident, the kingdom realized the horror of black magic and began to strictly prohibit the trade of blood crystals and arrest black magicians.

As a Steel-class adventurer, Joso naturally knew these things, but he also knew that Blood Crystals were scarce because their acquisition methods were little known, and their prices on the black market were ridiculously high.

Despite his reluctance, he quickly threw the blood crystal on the ground to avoid suspicion, and then cast a blasting spell to shatter the blood crystal into pieces.

"Thank goodness you reminded me." Joso patted his chest, pretending to be still shaken.

"Huh? These poops seem to have returned to normal," Karentin said, pointing to the ground poops.

Puji stopped in their tracks, stood there in a daze for a while, and then began to wander around aimlessly.

"Activate! Activate Titan now!"

Pinas went berserk and grabbed the magic advisor, shouting at him.

Several shark-headed hounds charged at high speed through the magic array corridor of the second line of defense.

They are extremely fast, and the magic array cannot harm them at all.

Several mages dressed in brown robes channeled their magic, causing the rune-covered boulders piled on either side of the passage to glow with golden light.

The massive boulder, weighing several tons, floated up like cotton, broke into various shapes in mid-air, and then reassembled into a giant hand.

"Everyone retreat!"

The adventurers and soldiers at the front line hurriedly fled backwards. Just as the shark-headed hound charged forward, the giant rocky paw slammed down heavily.

The entire passage seemed to tremble a few times. When the dust settled, a huge crater was left on the ground, with several mangled corpses stuck inside.

"Activate all the Titans; a fierce battle is about to begin."

Pinas gave instructions to the magic advisor, his pupils fixed on the hellish drawing outside the fiery barrier.

Various deep-level monsters, which only exist in superficial descriptions in strategy guides, gathered on the first floor, eyeing the dungeon exit menacingly.

"My God, what kind of monsters are these?!"

"Damn it, I'm not making that money! No amount of money is worth risking my life for!"

An adventurer drew his sword, intending to break through the encirclement at the cave entrance.

At that moment, a crossbow bolt flew through the air and pierced his skull.

Pinas nocked an arrow and stood on the outpost, shouting to the adventurers below:

"Listen up, all of you! This battle is a matter of life and death for Rotten River Town! If we fall, the monsters will rush out of the dungeon and turn our beautiful Rotten River Town into ruins!"

I didn't force you to sign up. Since you're here, you'd better fight with all your might! If I see another coward running away from the battlefield, that's what will happen to them!

After speaking, Pinas turned to the soldiers below and asked in a low voice, "Is my horse ready?"

"Don't worry, President, the horse is downstairs, you can ride it anytime."

Pinas nodded in satisfaction, then turned back and continued shouting, "Fight on, adventurers!"

As soon as the words were spoken, the runestones cracked and shattered, and the rocks shifted, creating a strong wind. One by one, the rock titans were assembled as the rocks collided and rubbed against each other.

The adventurers were thrilled by this scene, their fighting spirit soaring, and they raised their weapons and shouted.

The monsters outside the blazing barrier began to move. The barrier's heat had no effect on them, and the trap array only caused them minor injuries.

A giant nautilus with large eyes flashed with purple light in its pupils, and a purple laser shot out, pointing directly at the crowd.

The Titan blocked the laser with one hand and hurled the runic boulder that served as its head with the other, instantly shattering the Nautilus.

"Charge! Get the Titans up there and smash them to pieces!"

Pinas urged the brown-robed mages to hurry, but they objected.

"Controlling a Titan consumes an enormous amount of magic power, so it can only be used as a last resort."

One of the brown-robed mages slumped to the ground, his forehead covered in sweat, as he gulped down mana-replenishing potions.

"Damn it! Why did the kingdom only send you guys?"

As Pinas watched the deep-level monster slowly approach, he quickly ran downstairs, mounted his horse, and observed the situation through the doors and windows, planning to escape immediately if things went wrong.

The next second, a runic boulder suddenly flew over and smashed the outpost on the spot!

Pinas was lucky; he was only grazed by flying pebbles, but the brown-robed mages weren't so fortunate.

Most of them died under the rubble, only two managed to create a barrier in time and escape.

Looking back, a humanoid monster, not even mentioned in any strategy guide, stood on a pile of rune-covered boulders scattered on the ground. It was the one that had just knocked the boulders away.

It spread its wings and charged into the crowd, instantly sending limbs flying everywhere and splattering crimson blood. The other monsters had already passed through the magic circle corridor and began to feast on the fresh corpses scattered all over the ground.

It can't be stopped, it's completely unstoppable!

Compared to confronting these deep-seated monsters head-on, fighting the guards at the entrance obviously offers a higher survival rate.

The defenses collapsed completely, and all the adventurers fled in disarray, rushing towards the exit of the dungeon.

The soldiers stationed at the entrance panicked when they saw the aggressive adventurers: should they stop them or not?

Until the president, Pinas, charged ahead of the crowd, he gave the answer: "Anyone who doesn't want to die, get the hell out of my way!"

They quickly moved aside, letting Pinas go, and the next second they collided with the adventurers who were desperately trying to escape.

The guards didn't want to stop them, but the adventurers had already drawn their weapons and killed several soldiers. In the chaos, everyone had no choice but to fight each other.

After fighting for a while, someone finally shouted, "Stop fighting! The monsters have all run back!"

Everyone looked at the crystal ball at the entrance; the originally crimson sphere had somehow turned back to blue.
