The old bald man covered his nose, blood trickling from between his fingers. He staggered, grabbing the medicine cabinet behind him for support, and slowly straightened up. The disbelief in his eyes was quickly replaced by anger.

"You...you fucking dared to lay a hand on me!" His voice was muffled from the broken nose, mixed with the blood and phlegm he hadn't swallowed, making it sound indistinct. "Did you think I was joking with you?"

Norn flicked the blood off his fist and looked at him without changing his expression.

"Let me tell you," the old bald man pointed his other finger at Norn, his fingertip trembling slightly with anger, "you're finished! You'd better pack your things and get out of Miguang City today, the farther the better. Otherwise, if I just send one message to the governor's mansion—'You bought Soul-Stealing Potion on the black market,' you can expect to be strapped to the rack! Lord Musolo has zero tolerance for this kind of thing, you know that, don't you?"

In his view, once this card is played, no matter how arrogant this young upstart is, he'll have to think twice.

The Soul-Stealing Water is Musolo's Achilles' heel, and everyone in the entire city of Miguang knows it.

Using this leverage, he has successfully controlled Berto and others who had bought the Soul-Stealing Potion from him.

He believed this time would be no exception; the young punk in front of him would either apologize or run away as fast as he could.

After listening, Norn cracked his wrist, making a crisp sound from his knuckles, and then casually threw another punch.

The punch wasn't hard, but it landed right on the old bald man's mouth before he could close it. Two of his molars came loose on the spot, and he was in so much pain that he curled up like a shrimp, cowering behind the counter and whimpering, unable to utter another harsh word.

"Go ahead and sue if you dare, and see if you really have the powerful backing you think you have."

After saying that, Norn pushed open the door without looking back and walked into the street, thinking to himself, "I was so busy getting back my style after dealing with all those other things that I completely forgot about this poisonous bug."

The next morning, the old bald man got up before dawn. His facial injuries had mostly healed after drinking the medicinal liquid.

He found an inconspicuous cloth bag and put in a bottle of stone blood flower extract that he had kept for three years without selling, a jar of top-grade recovery ointment made with dragon-patterned royal jelly, and various other medicines. His heart ached every time he put something in, but his hands didn't slow down at all.

He didn't sleep a wink last night; he was so angry about Norn's two punches that he couldn't sleep.

"You brat, you're going to die!" The old bald man slammed the cloth bag shut and tied it up, then pushed open the door and ran toward Ferrero's mansion.

The old bald man moved swiftly with his two legs, holding the coarse cloth bag in his arms like a mother hen protecting her chicks.

His mind was in turmoil. Norn's last words before leaving yesterday kept echoing in his ears, and the more he thought about it, the colder his spine became.

But if Ferrero can be found, things might still turn around.

Ferrero and he weren't actually that close. It was just that Ferrero was impressed by his alchemy skills. Later, he gave Ferrero a few gifts and had it do some shady things for him, and that was the end of it.

Although the relationship wasn't deep, considering the connection to this chain of interests, as long as I prepared some gifts, it was impossible for it not to help me out.

The old bald man excitedly ran to Ferrero's mansion, only to find a large group of demi-humans standing in the courtyard, with several carriages parked at the gate, and several soldiers carrying furniture from the house onto the carriages.

Seeing this, the old bald man's heart skipped a beat. He tightened the coarse cloth bag around his chest and walked into the courtyard as if nothing had happened. The next second, he was stopped by a rabbit-man soldier.

"What are you doing? Can't you see they're doing business inside? Get out now!"

"I just came in to see what happened."

"What else could it be? Can't you tell? A raid on their property. Lord Mussolo sent us here. Ferrero has already been arrested; he's probably done something wrong."

The old bald man's knees buckled, and he almost lost his balance, but he still put on a gloating expression as if he had just heard something juicy.

"So that's how it is, so that's how it is..." The old bald man left the yard with an awkward laugh, then ran back home, feeling uneasy.

"Are you kidding me? I've checked that kid's background! He just rescued a few kidnapped girls, how could he have so much power!?"

Having always used Ferrero's power to bully others, he felt fear for the first time. At this moment, all he wanted was to get home as soon as possible and leave the City of Light before Norn could do anything to him.

A patrol of guards passed by every now and then, their iron boots clattering on the stone pavement. The old bald man instinctively shrank his neck, lowering his head even further, his coarse cloth bag clenched so tightly it was deformed.

But he still underestimated Norn's speed and efficiency. The moment the apothecary came into view, the old bald man stopped in his tracks.

Several military horses were parked in front of the shop, and seven or eight fully armed guards surrounded the shop entrance. Two lizardmen soldiers were carrying his medicinal ingredients outside, while his son and grandson were shackled and squatting to the side.

The alchemy room was ransacked. His raw materials were moved out in boxes, and filters, distillation flasks, and iron pots used for alchemy were thrown on the ground.

Two lizardman soldiers rushed out excitedly, carrying two boxes of Soul-Stealing Potion, saying, "Found it! Quite a lot! There are five more boxes inside!"

The old bald man was thunderstruck upon seeing this. He loosened his grip, and the cloth bag full of gifts fell to the ground. Various medicines were broken, and the liquid slowly seeped into the cracks in the stone beneath his feet.

It wasn't that no one had reported this place before, but Ferrero always managed to notify him in time before the soldiers arrived, giving him enough time to hide the evidence.

Now that even the Soul-Stealing Potion has been unearthed, and Ferrero has been arrested, no amount of sophistry will help.

At that moment, his son turned around, saw his father, and cried out as if he had seen a savior, "Father! Please save me!"

"Damn it! Shut up!" the old bald man cursed fiercely. When he saw that all the soldiers had turned to look at him, he was so frightened that he ran away.

"Chase him! Don't let him get away!" At the command of the leopard-man officer, several soldiers immediately dropped what they were doing and rushed toward the old bald man.

The old bald man quickly bent down, wiped the liquid on the ground with his hand, then got up and ran away, licking the liquid off his hands as he ran.

The bag contained several bottles of potions to enhance physical strength. Although they were mixed with some other medicines, they still had some effect. The old man in his sixties suddenly became incredibly agile and almost lost the soldiers.

As he disappeared into the alley, seemingly about to make his escape, a fist suddenly slammed into his face.

The old bald man was so badly beaten that he saw stars, and it took him a while to recognize the person: Norn.

"Don't be so arrogant! You bought Soul-Stealing Potion from me before. If I tell the chief, you won't be happy either!"

"Go ahead and sue, it already knows," Norn replied with a smile.

Several demi-human soldiers arrived and dragged the shocked old bald man away.
