Organ rental company in another world

88. I have no one above me!

The werewolf's claws hung in mid-air, firmly gripped by Norn's hands.

It looked down at the human who was half a head shorter than itself, and a disdainful sneer just appeared on its lips, but the sneer froze on its face the next second.

The force coming from its wrist was outrageously strong, as if it were being constricted by an iron clamp, with cracking sounds coming from the gaps in its bones.

"You fucking—" Before the werewolf could finish speaking, Norn kicked it in the knee. With a crisp sound, the werewolf's leg snapped back, and it screamed as it knelt on one knee.

Norn twisted its arm and pressed it down, causing the werewolf's face to slam directly onto the stone floor. Two of its fangs broke off on the spot, rolling down to Xia's feet with blood and foam.

The thugs behind him then realized what was happening, smashed the vases they were holding on the ground, and rushed towards Norn's face.

The pigman swung his fist at Norn's head, but Norn dodged it by tilting his head. He then grabbed a clay pot from the flower stand and swung it around, smashing it into the pigman's face.

The earthenware jar exploded, smearing dirt and shards of pottery all over the pig-man's face. He covered his eyes and staggered backward, tripping over the threshold and falling backward out the door, crushing the wooden ladder that hadn't yet been put away.

The two kobolds drew wooden sticks from their waists and clamped them down from the left and right.

Norn doesn't even need to use magic; his physical abilities are far beyond what ordinary thugs can achieve by faking an accident.

With his left hand, he parried the stick on the left, and with his right elbow, he slammed it into the kobold's temple, sending it flying and knocking over a bucket of water for watering plants by the door. His right hand then snatched another stick and swung it backhand at the iguana-man's cheek, shattering scales and sending blood splattering onto a nearby flowerpot.

From start to finish, it only took a dozen seconds.

Five demi-human thugs lay sprawled haphazardly in front of the flower shop, their groans echoing across the room. The pig-man was still outside, groaning and clutching his head; the lizard-man huddled in a corner, clutching his cheek; one of the two kobolds was unconscious, while the other lay in a puddle, coughing incessantly.

The werewolf was in the worst shape, kneeling on one leg with the other broken, his head pinned to the ground by Norn, blood still flowing from his mouth.

"Brother, stop fighting! We surrender!" The werewolf finally couldn't hold on any longer and begged for mercy through his slurred mouth.

"Admit defeat? You think you can challenge me to a duel? You think I'll stop hitting you just because you admit defeat?"

Norn didn't loosen his grip; instead, he increased it, distorting the werewolf's face and smearing it with tears and snot.

The werewolf couldn't hold out any longer. "We were ordered around! We didn't want to cause trouble!"

"Hmm? Who sent you?" Norn loosened his grip slightly.

"It's a pharmacy on the east side of the city. That old bald guy gave us ten Sea Scales and told us to come and smash up the shop."

"Oh, it's him, that old codger." Norn lifted his foot, and the werewolf hurriedly got up, being helped by his two companions as he walked towards the shop entrance.

"Wait a minute, after all that smashing and damaging, you think you can just run away without paying a single penny?" Norn pointed to the mud and pottery shards scattered on the ground and asked Xia, "How much do they owe us in compensation?"

Xia Ya's mind was a bit confused, but she gave a rough estimate: "80 Sea Scales."

"Did you hear that? Eight Heavenly Coins, not a single Earthly Armor can be missing."

The werewolves quickly turned around, looked at the rotten flowers and dirt on the ground, and cursed inwardly, "Are these flowers made of gold? You want eight Heavenly Coins for this stuff? You're even more of a rip-off than us!"

They were about to retort when they saw the magic circle crackling with electricity in Norn's hand, and immediately nodded and said, "Alright, alright, eight Heavenly Coins, we've got it. We'll bring the money over the day after tomorrow."

Watching the group slink away, Norn turned to Xia and said, "You can deal with these yourself. I'll go take care of the guy behind the scenes."

Xia nodded and presented Norn with a bouquet of snow-white night-blooming lilies. "Thank you, Lord Norn!"

"Oh, you can keep it yourself. It's too much trouble to carry these flowers." After saying that, Norn walked out of the shop and disappeared into an alley.

Arriving at the entrance of the apothecary again, Norn pushed open the half-closed gate and went inside.

The old bald man was sitting behind the counter, wearing goggles and flipping through his tattered potion recipe book. The shelves behind him looked much emptier, probably because of the potions that had been blown up last time. The shop was now filled with a strong medicinal smell.

His two grandsons were either helping their father organize the shelves or dozing off at a small table in the corner.

Hearing the door open, the old bald man looked up, his eyes behind his goggles narrowed, and then he gave a forced, insincere smile.

"You finished the one you bought last time, sir? Now you're here to buy more Soul-Stealing Potion?" The old bald man took off his goggles and slowly placed them on the table, his tone filled with undisguised sarcasm. "Or did you come here specifically to see me?"

His son turned around, and when he saw that it was Norn, his face darkened considerably.

"I've dealt with the thugs you sent to smash up the shop. Give me an explanation. Why did you do such a thing?" Norn said as he walked, and by the time he finished speaking, he had already reached the counter.

The old bald man didn't try to deny it and readily admitted, "Of course it's for compensation."

"You blew up my entire shelf of medicine, hit my son, and terrified my grandson. I would not be too much for these losses to pay 200 Tianbi!"

"But considering you recently rescued those abducted demi-human girls, I wanted to give you some face and didn't plan to ask you for it to your face. So I conspired with the owner of the shop that rented to that little girl, and had his employees smash up the shop, leaving him heavily in debt. Consider this money compensation for my losses."

"Heh, you're quite frank. You've confessed everything before I've even hit you," Norn laughed.

"I'm an honest and upright person. Besides, what I'm doing won't do you any harm. You give that girl money to open a shop and stand up for her. Aren't you just lusting after her body?"

I'll leave it with a mountain of debt, then it'll be like a prostitute on the street—you can do whatever you want with it whenever you want, for as long as you want. There's no need to slowly build up feelings.

The old bald man grinned wickedly and leaned closer, convinced he had Norn's thoughts under control.

Norn stared at the old face and replied, "I'm not like you, you lecherous worm. She's my friend. Since you've caused her trouble, I have to demand an explanation for her. I want you to go and apologize to her in person!"

The old bald man's smile gradually faded. Seeing that Norn wasn't giving him any face, he decided not to keep smiling anymore.

"You're asking for it! You want me to apologize to that bastard? No way! Do you even know I have connections?"

Norn narrowed his eyes slightly and asked cautiously, "Who do you know?"

"Hmph, don't wet your pants if I tell you, but Lord Ferrero, the governor of Miguang City, is an old friend of mine, and even Berto is his subordinate."

"You bought the Soul-Stealing Potion from me. If I tell it to you in a roundabout way, you're as good as dead. Do you know how low Chief Musolo's tolerance is in this matter?"

After the old bald man finished speaking, he crossed his arms and raised his chin slightly, waiting to see the look of panic, hesitation, and retreat on Norn's face.

He had seen this expression far too many times. Those who had come to settle scores with him in a menacing manner all obediently lowered their heads after hearing Ferrero's name.

However, what he received was not fear, but a soft laugh.

Norn smirked. "You have connections, but I don't!"

No sooner had he finished speaking than a heavy punch slammed into the old bald man's nose, the crisp sound of cartilage breaking clearly audible.

The old bald man's head snapped back, the back of his head hitting the corner of the medicine cabinet. He slid down the cabinet door, blood gushing from his nose like a tap turned on, smearing half his face.
