Organ rental company in another world
99. Pointed head
"Lord Norn, it's great to finally meet you. Your deeds have spread throughout the entire city of Miguang. Oh, my name is Oliver, and I run several restaurants in the city..."
Despite feeling somewhat uncomfortable looking at the fawning pigman in front of him, Norn still smiled and raised his glass in a toast.
Norn couldn't remember how many merchants had come to "show their favor" today.
Since he brought back the abducted demi-human girl, Norn felt he had been "demonized" thanks to Mussolo's vigorous propaganda.
The image of a rich and handsome hero quickly spread throughout the city, and many wealthy businessmen came to get to know him.
Norn is currently at a banquet hosted by a wealthy businessman at his estate outside the city.
The nature of this banquet was actually similar to the tea party he attended in the Backlanza district; both were means for wealthy people to expand their networks.
Everyone was holding a wine glass, chatting with one person and laughing with another. Norn felt as if he were in a masquerade ball.
When everyone had finished chatting, the music at the banquet suddenly stopped. The wealthy bear-man, who was the host, walked up to a stone platform, said some polite words of thanks to everyone, and then clapped his hands.
The two wooden doors on the side of the courtyard were slowly pushed open, and a group of demi-human women dressed in light gauze filed in.
"These clothes are worse than not wearing them at all." Norn watched as the female demi-humans walked over with smiles, jumping into the arms of each guest.
What was originally a refined banquet quickly turned vulgar, with one offensive scene after another unfolding throughout the courtyard.
During this time, many of the Musa came to chat with Norn, but Norn rejected them all.
"Lord Norn, won't you choose one?"
Oleg walked over at some point, carrying two kobolds in his arms.
"No need, I don't really like demi-humans."
After Norn finished speaking, he suddenly heard footsteps behind him.
"Does Lord Norn like me?"
Norn turned around and saw a young woman in a purple dress standing behind him with a sweet smile on her face. Although she was not particularly attractive, she looked like a fairy next to the group of Fu Rui.
"Who are you?"
"Just call me Ellie," Elena said, standing in front of him with her hands clasped together, looking as shy as an innocent young girl.
"Lord Norn, I have always admired you. Every time I hear about your deeds, I am moved to tears. Today, I have finally met you, I..."
"Alright, how much?"
Norn raised his hand to interrupt her cheesy remarks.
Ellie was taken aback, and quickly explained, "I'm not here for the money! I came simply because I admire you, please don't misunderstand me..."
Ellie kept tugging at her sleeves with both hands below her waist, her head slightly lowered, looking aggrieved.
Norn wasn't buying it. What kind of innocent girl could attend such a banquet? Don't make your sister Ai laugh.
However, having finally met a woman, Norn didn't intend to refuse her.
He downed his drink in one gulp, took Ellie's hand, and said, "Come with me to the woods."
Norn walked ahead, through the garden's stone path, past a hedge trimmed into animal shapes, and finally stopped under a huge oak tree.
"This is fine." Norn turned around and found that Ellie was even more anxious than him, and she only had a few clothes left.
"Tch, so you're not going to keep up the act anymore?" Norn chuckled.
"If you want me to keep pretending, I can continue." With that, the two hugged each other.
……
Ten minutes later, Norn got up from the grass, put on his pants, and draped the purple dress over the unconscious Ellie.
Angre's training is really impressive!
Norn couldn't help but marvel at the prestige of level 18, and hurriedly dressed before returning to the courtyard.
As Norn walked along a secluded stone path, a cool night breeze made him sneeze.
"I'll go back and find her some clothes," Norn thought, when a rustling sound came from the bushes nearby.
Norn quickly turned his head, but saw nothing.
"Was it blown by the wind?" Norn didn't think so, but he still managed to brush it off.
All the wild animals around the villa have been cleared out, and none of them are aggressive anymore.
Norn pushed open the wooden door to the courtyard, and a strong smell of blood hit him.
Norn's mind cleared instantly, and the scene before him made his pupils shrink!
Dead body.
Corpses were everywhere.
Those businessmen who were just moments ago raising their glasses and laughing loudly are now scattered all over the ground.
Severed limbs mixed with blood were scattered all over the ground, and the pool in the center of the courtyard was completely stained red, with a few eyeballs and shredded internal organs floating on it.
Oliver, who was just being affectionate with the kobolds, now found his upper body thrown onto the roof, while his lower body was nowhere to be seen.
However, judging from the number of corpses, it seems that quite a few people escaped.
"What the hell is going on?!" Norn instinctively reached for his waist to draw his sword, only to find that he was wearing a robe and no longer carried a sword.
Norn looked around warily, fearing that the murderer might still be lying in ambush somewhere.
After looking around and finding nothing, Norn suddenly thought of the rustling bushes and realized that he might have just brushed past death!
If that's the case, then Ellie...
Just then, a heart-wrenching scream came from the woods, and Norn's heart jumped into his throat!
Wait, no, he doesn't have a heart right now.
Norn turned his head sharply in the direction from which the sound came.
A human face peeked out from behind the wooden door he had just entered through. Then the door was kicked down, and a huge humanoid monster walked in, carrying Ellie's upper body.
Her face showed extreme pain, and bits of food kept falling from her severed waist.
The humanoid monster was over two meters tall, covered in grayish-black skin with white cracks, and had incredibly strong limbs. A thick, sharp horn grew from between its eyebrows, gleaming coldly in the moonlight.
Its body was covered in blood, from head to toe, as if it had been pulled out of a pool of blood.
The monster's pale eyes noticed Norn, and it threw Ellie away. It opened its mouth at an exaggerated angle and roared as it charged toward Norn.
Lightning Strike!
A silvery-white magic circle appeared in Norn's palm, and dense arcs of electricity instantly converged into a ferocious white snake that smashed into the monster's face.
However, the monster merely turned its head, without stopping its steps at all.
Norn's heart sank.
Oh no, they didn't even use their trump card!
Norn instantly realized that none of his attacks could work on it, so he quickly dodged and switched his mind to it.
But it had no effect.
"This guy actually has self-awareness!" Norn was shocked. His only option was to run away.
However, the monster had no intention of letting him go. It stomped its feet hard, creating deep pits in the perlite ground, and was about to catch up with Norn.
Norn frantically screamed in his mind, "Damn it, stop right now!!!"
Unexpectedly, the monster seemed to understand Norn's words and immediately stopped.
It tilted its head, scratched its head with its blood-stained fingers, and a hint of confusion appeared in its pale eyes.
It stared at Norn, as if wondering if the voice in its head had been created by this guy.
Norn sat on the blood-stained ground, still shaken, his blood surging through his body as the Void Heart pumped violently.
"Could this monster hear my thoughts?" Norn wondered to himself.
To confirm his suspicions, Norn said to it in his mind, "Dance."
The monster scratched its head, slowly stood up, raised its arms and casually waved them twice before lowering them again.
It clearly heard Norn's thoughts; although it couldn't understand human speech or speak, it could somehow comprehend Norn's meaning.
"Could it be because of this demon god's decree?" Norn thought that this situation was very similar to when he controlled monsters in the Rotten River Underground City.
But this isn't control, as you can tell from the fact that he just made the monster dance.
This monster can only understand the meaning of its own words; whether it carries them out depends on its mood.
It probably stopped attacking because it was the first creature it had ever seen to talk to it.
The monster picked up a cat-man's head from the side, bit off most of it, and drool dripped from the corner of its mouth, making a pattering sound on the ground.
"Are you hungry?" Norn asked.
The monster nodded, and Norn then took a large steak from a fallen grill and threw it to the monster.
The monster ate the steak in one gulp, chewed for a while, and its pale eyes widened slightly.
"You enjoyed the food, didn't you?" Norn continued to bring more food, which the monster ate without hesitation.
After Norn fed them, the monsters' attitudes towards Norn improved considerably.
"Your head is so pointy, I'll call you Arno from now on," Norn said, patting Arno's head.
