Survival in the Apocalypse: Max Level Drop Rate with Abundant Resources

A dark golden light flickered faintly deep within the forest of pillars.

Shen Xi, carrying the Despair Reaper, squeezed sideways into the gap between the two giant pillars.

Its body was as black as ink, with dark red patterns on its surface that shimmered slightly as he passed by.

The narrow passage was only wide enough for one person to pass through. The pillars on both sides were covered with fine scratches, as if they had been repeatedly clawed by some sharp claws. Underfoot were broken bone fragments, which made a soft "crackling" sound when stepped on, which was particularly jarring in this deathly silent space.

Shen Xi slowed her pace and fully activated her all-encompassing insight.

Golden light swirled in his eyes, piercing the darkness and allowing him to make out blurry outlines within a few dozen meters ahead. Those dark golden figures were scattered sparsely among the pillars, some motionless, others moving slowly.

The closest one is about fifty meters ahead.

He held his breath and slowly reached forward, pressing himself against the pillar.

After walking for about twenty minutes, the space suddenly opened up ahead. Several giant pillars were arranged in a circle, enclosing an open area about twenty meters in diameter. In the center of the open area, a huge raven was squatting on the ground, pecking at something.

Shen Xi's pupils contracted slightly.

This raven was a full size larger than the previous raven guard. Its feathers were no longer dark purple, but a strange dark gold, each feather edged with a metallic sheen. Its beak was curved like a sickle, covered with fine serrations, and adorned with a few strands of black flesh. Most terrifying of all were its eyes, no longer scarlet, but golden vertical pupils.

It crouched there, its wings half-folded, and was easily over a meter tall. Even without standing up, its oppressive aura was several times stronger than that of the raven guards.

Shen Xi took a deep breath, focusing all her attention on the myriad phenomena...

[Corpse - Dark Gold Raven (Level 15 Silver - Common)]

Strength: 85, Spirit: 55, Agility: 92, Constitution: 78

[Skills: Dark Gold Feather Blade, Death Dive, Corrosive Storm, Iron Wing Parry]

Weaknesses: Eyes (extremely vulnerable), the junction of the neck and chest (thin feather cover), and an old wound at the base of the left wing (a hit here can reduce flight ability).

Shen Xi raised an eyebrow slightly.

85 points of Strength, 92 points of Agility, 78 points of Constitution.

These stats are way better than the Raven Guardian. And this is a "normal" monster, not a higher-level one.

"A common, silver-level corpse..."

He murmured, his gaze growing serious.

Monsters of this caliber would be able to go toe-to-toe with ordinary boss-level corpses outside. But here, they're just ordinary grunts.

The waters of this instance are deeper than he imagined.

The dark golden raven seemed to sense something, and its golden vertical pupils suddenly swept towards Shen Xi!

Shen Xi immediately ducked down and shrank into the shadow between the two giant pillars.

The Starlight Rhythm Uniform's Starlight Concealment effect activated automatically, instantly dimming the flowing starlight and merging him into darkness.

The raven stared at this spot for a moment, but finding nothing amiss, it lowered its head and continued pecking at its food.

Shen Xi slowly exhaled.

He gripped the Despair Reaper tightly and began mentally rehearsing tactics.

92 Agility points, 11 points higher than his current 81 points.

He is at a disadvantage in terms of speed.

85 points of strength, lower than his.

Her physique score is 78, which is lower than his.

Moreover, he has a keen insight into the weaknesses of the all-encompassing label.

"If you're not fast enough, you'll have to rely on anticipation." Shen Xi licked his lips, a glint of excitement in his eyes. "With ten years of combat experience, do you think I'm afraid of a feathered beast like you?"

He took a deep breath and stepped out of the shadows.

This time, he didn't hide it.

The Desperate Reaper's axe blade drew a dark golden arc in the darkness, heading straight for the Dark Gold Raven's neck!

The raven's reaction was astonishingly fast!

Almost the instant Shen Xi made her move, it sensed the danger. Its wings suddenly unfurled, creating a gust of wind, and its entire body leaped backward!

The axe blade grazed its chest and abdomen, severing a few dark gold feathers.

"Gah!!!"

The raven let out a piercing cry, its golden vertical pupils locked onto Shen Xi, and its wings suddenly flapped!

Death dive!

Its speed was so fast that it was almost impossible for the naked eye to catch it! With an explosive power of 92 points in agility, this dark gold raven was like a golden lightning bolt, pouncing on Shen Xi in the blink of an eye! Its curved beak aimed straight for his heart!

Shen Xi was prepared.

Instead of retreating, he advanced, using his feet to propel himself forward!

Bloodthirsty Thrust!

The distance between them closed instantly! The raven's beak grazed his shoulder, leaving a trail of blood. Meanwhile, Shen Xi's Desperate Reaper had already slashed deep into the base of its left wing!

That is the weakness of the all-seeing mark!

"Snap!"

The axe blade pierced the old wound, and the sound of bone cracking was clearly audible!

Black blood spurted out!

The raven let out a mournful cry, its left wing trembled violently, and its entire body lost its balance, tilting to the left!

Shen Xi is relentless in her pursuit of power!

Whirlwind Triple Slash!

First lap! Slash at its right flank!

Second lap! Split its chest and abdomen open!

The third lap! Heading straight for the neck!

The raven flapped its wings desperately, trying to create distance, but the injury to its left wing severely hampered its movements. It barely dodged the first two axe blows, but the third struck it squarely on the neck!

"Snap!"

The axe blade cleaved halfway in and got stuck in his cervical spine!

Black blood gushed out like a spring!

The raven let out a dying cry, its right claw kicking wildly! The sharp claws slashed three bloody gashes on Shen Xi's arm, stinging painfully!

But Shen Xi did not let go.

He gripped the axe handle tightly with both hands, poured all his strength into it, and twisted it sharply!

"Snap!"

The cervical spine is completely fractured!

The ugly head drooped down at an eerie angle, its golden vertical pupils gradually dimming.

Its massive body swayed and then crashed to the ground.

Shen Xi leaned on the axe handle, panting heavily.

The three claw marks on his arm were still bleeding, but the Desperate Reaper's bloodsucking effect had been triggered, and the wounds were slowly healing.

He looked down at the carcass of the dark gold raven.

"So what if you're fast? I'll still kill you."

The orb of light rose from the corpse, and all things were automatically collected back into the warehouse.

Shen Xi glanced at it and saw a silver-level resource card and a bottle of intermediate-level healing potion, which was better than nothing.

He rested for a while, and after his wounds had completely healed, he continued forward.

In the days that followed, Shen Xi embarked on a long hunt in this dark forest of pillars.

There aren't many dark gold ravens here, but each one is a terrifying level 15 silver-tier creature. They are scattered throughout the pillar forest, some dozing on the tops of pillars, some wandering through narrow passages, and some gathering in groups of three or five.

Shen Xi ate them one by one, not trying to eat too many.

Every battle is tough.

These dark gold ravens were so fast, with a burst of 92 points of agility, that Shen Xi had to go all out every time.

Several times, he was nearly hit by the dive-bombing attack, only managing to withstand it thanks to the damage reduction from his indomitable will. On another occasion, he was surrounded by three ravens, and forced into a desperate situation, he had to activate Bloodlust Berserk to break through their encirclement.

But each battle made him more familiar with this forest of pillars.

He knew where the terrain was narrow and suitable for ambushes, where the open terrain made it easy to be attacked from both sides, where there were nests of golden ravens, and where there were safe resting spots.

The experience bar is steadily increasing.

The number of gold coins fluctuated wildly.

When the fifth day ended, Shen Xi finally stood at the edge of this forest of pillars.

He leaned against the last giant pillar, panting heavily.

Five days.

Five whole days.

He couldn't remember how many Dark Gold Ravens he had killed, only that his experience bar had soared from over 6,000 points at level 16 to his current level 18.

[Player: Tai Chu (Supreme Ruler of the Three Realms)]

[Profession: Creator (First Rebirth)]

Free attribute points: 10

Five days later, I leveled up two more times, gaining a total of 10 free attribute points.

He thought for a moment and then allocated all 10 points to Agility and Spirit, 5 points each.

Agility: 72 + 13 = 85

【Spirit: 86】

A warm current flowed through his body, and the world became clearer in his eyes. The sound of the wind in the distance, the faint breathing deep in the forest of pillars, and even the varying intensity of the decaying smell in the air became exceptionally distinct.

86 points of Agility.

The speed gap with those dark gold ravens has narrowed.

Furthermore, his mental strength has increased to 85 points, and his perception range has greatly increased.

Shen Xi nodded in satisfaction, then raised her head and looked ahead.

At the edge of the grove of pillars, the view suddenly opens up.

Ahead lay an even more expansive space, where the dark red dome rose even higher, reaching a hundred meters. The ground was no longer covered in shattered bones, but in a dark red soil that felt soft and spongy underfoot, like mud soaked in blood.

In the center of this space stood a colossal…

architecture?

No, it's more like the nest of some kind of creature.

It was a hemispherical structure, at least several hundred meters in diameter, covered with dense, dark golden scales, each the size of a washbasin. Between the scales, countless blood vessel-like patterns slowly undulated, transporting some kind of dark red liquid.

At the top of the nest, there was a huge opening, from which a dark red light shone, like the gaping maw of some creature.

Around the nest, Shen Xi saw something that made his scalp tingle.

human form.

That was a humanoid raven.

They stand upright, on both feet, about two meters tall, covered in dark golden feathers. Their body structure is very similar to that of humans, with a torso and limbs, but their heads still resemble those of ravens, with curved beaks, golden vertical pupils, and a tuft of feathers standing upright on their heads.

Their hands are not wings, but webbed arms with sharp claws at the tips. Huge wings are folded behind them, with a wingspan of at least four meters.

Shen Xi's pupils contracted.

Animal carcasses decompose and deform.

Shen Xi's expression turned completely serious.

From ordinary corpses to elites, from beast form to human form, this is not just a leap in strength, but a leap in the level of life.

Shen Xi took a deep breath and calculated the time.

He has been in this instance for a full ten days.

Ten days.

The post-apocalyptic survival game hasn't been around for very long. He's already spent ten days exploring it, and he still hasn't finished.

What's the situation outside right now?

he does not know.

But he knew that these "birdmen" in front of him were not easy to deal with.

He can still fight back against one or two.

But there are at least dozens of them here, and we don't know what's inside their nests.

Shen Xi huddled in the shadows at the edge of the pillar forest, staring at the dark red soil.

That should be the core of the instance.
