Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds: The Path of Evolution

Seeing that Crowe was almost unsteady on his feet, Guan Bai quickly stepped forward to help him.

"Are you alright? What happened?"

Crowe struggled to breathe and managed a forced smile.

"Ha, ha, when I was running away, a corner of that shoddy building collapsed, and I couldn't dodge it."

Guan Bai asked with concern.

"How are your injuries? How can I help you?"

Crowe shook his head.

"It's just a leg injury, not a fatal one... I need to get rid of the police behind me first, and then figure out how to treat my leg..."

As expected of Crow Crowe, every time he appears, he's accompanied by chasing police.

Kanpaku could already hear the approaching police sirens.

Crowe pointed to a spot in the alley.

"The Blackbird is right there. I'll enter the destination, and you pilot the Blackbird..."

Guan Bai pointed to his nose with his left finger, somewhat surprised, but quickly made a decision.

"Okay, I'll drive!"

Although Kanpaku didn't have much experience driving motorcycles before his time travel, he had at least practiced a few times, and D-wheels generally have automatic driving assistance functions.

As long as he grasps the general direction, there shouldn't be any problems!

Guan Bai helped Crowe into the alley where the Blackbird was hiding, helped him onto the back seat of the Blackbird, and secured him with straps.

After Crowe entered the destination, Kanpaku put on Crowe's helmet and sat in the driver's seat.

He turned to Crowe and said.

"Hold on tight—"

Pull the throttle, and Blackbird starts moving.

The Blackbird's performance far exceeded Kanpaku's expectations. With the assistance of the intelligent operation system, navigating the alleyways and turning corners was as smooth as eating jelly.

Like a black shooting star streaking across the blue sky, the Blackbird transformed into a black lightning bolt and shot out of the alley.

"The suspect has been detected fleeing into non-jurisdictional territory!"

"To reiterate, the suspect has been discovered fleeing into non-jurisdictional territory!"

The police spotted the Blackbird and gave chase in their vehicles.

The Blackbird, with its powerful engine, took the lead, followed closely by three blue and white police cars.

The strong wind lashed across Guan Bai's pale cheeks, and the siren acted as a catalyst, causing his adrenaline to surge and his heart to pound wildly in his chest.

So this is what it feels like to drive a D-wheel at high speed. Guan Bai felt like he had opened the door to a new world.

As the distance increased, the three police cars became completely out of sight!

Just then, a unique motorcycle suddenly appeared from around the corner, its front end heading straight for the Blackbird without stopping!

Guan Bai recognized the newcomer; it was Niu Wei!

Caught completely off guard, Guan Bai gritted his teeth and twisted the handle violently.

The two cars passed each other by!

The Blackbird was just a hair's breadth away from being hit!

"That was...impressive driving! Compared to you, those lazy, good-for-nothing cops are just fit to inhale exhaust fumes!"

Crowe's praise came from behind, while he sarcastically mocked the policeman who had launched the surprise attack.

However, Niuwei's voice showed no sign of anger; he laughed loudly.

"Haha, since we can't surpass you in speed, then let me show you the good stuff I've got!"

"Forced activation of a field spell, High-Speed World!"

"What?!"

Kanpaku and Crowe exclaimed in shock.

According to Kanpaku's memory, shouldn't this forced system have been used during Ushio and Yusei's second battle?

How come I'm being used against myself now?!

But no matter what, the system has already been started!

"Duel mode activated. Autopilot ready."

"High-speed world, activated."

In this high-speed world, the shared arena card is the biggest feature that distinguishes riding duels from other duels.

Each round, High Speed World will add a High Speed indicator to both sides.

The Speed Target (SPC) is one of the core mechanics in riding duels. It is not only a necessary condition for activating speed magic, but its count also directly affects the vehicle's speed!

Niuwei laughed loudly from behind.

"The best way to catch a criminal fleeing at high speed is, of course, to implement speed limits in a high-speed world!"

"No matter where you want to escape to, you'll have to fight me first!"

Kanpaku gritted his teeth, took out his deck, and inserted it into the slot of the Kro D-Wheel.

"Since you want to play, I'll play with you properly!"

"Duel!"

[Kanpaku LP: 4000]

【Oxtail LP: 4000】

"Ox Tail!" the cow shouted.

"The first move is obviously for the police. My turn, draw a card!"

"I summon Gate Wall in Defense Position, set two cards face down, and end my turn."

[The Barrier of the Door]

【Effect】

【Rock/Ground】

[Four-star] 0/2000

A protective barrier for the door?

Guan Bai's mind went blank for a moment.

Isn't this the special pursuit deck that Ushio used during his second match with Yusei? Why is he using it on him now?!

Guan Bai realized that this was a butterfly effect caused by his time travel, and that certain phenomena were occurring earlier than expected!

I just feel a little sorry for Crab Bro, because his first battle with Ushio will have to be turned into a countermeasure against this special pursuit deck.

Let's get back to the main point; it's Kanpaku's turn now!

"My turn, draw a card!"

[Kanpaku SPC: 0] [Ushio Tetsu SPC: 1] (SPC stands for Speed Indicator)

Kro, standing behind, made a surprised sound.

"What's going on? Why haven't our highway signs been increased?!"

Niuwei laughed loudly and began to explain death.

"Hahaha, as long as the Gate of Protection exists, none of you can add high-speed indicators, which means only I can enjoy the effects of the high-speed world!"

Crowe gritted his teeth, analyzing the situation with some concern.

"Our high-speed spell is now sealed! Kanpaku, you'd better watch out!"

Guan Bai's lips twitched.

Can I say that my deck doesn't contain any high-speed spells at all?

The effect of limiting high-speed indicators is less impactful on Kanpaku's deck than the impact of the high-speed world itself!

In the high-speed world, to use a spell card other than the high-speed spell, you must pay a price of two thousand life points.

This is essentially equivalent to rendering all the spells in the white card deck useless.

In order to replace these spell cards that had lost their effectiveness, when taking out the deck, Kanpaku also urgently replaced ten monsters from his own card pool.

Let's bring our thoughts back to the duel.

Ushio's special pursuit deck usually revolves around the core tactic of Gate Defense.

Use the Gate Barrier to restrict your opponent's SPC, thereby blocking their spell cards.

The most distinctive feature of this deck is that its pressure gradually increases as the SPC difference increases.

Unfortunately, Kanpaku hadn't yet unlocked the Warrior of the Valley of Mist from his card pack. The effect of that card was to return monsters that hadn't been destroyed by him in battle to his hand.

This bouncing effect is the best counter to slow-paced beat-style tactics used in special pursuit missions.

There's no other way but to adopt a defensive stance for now.

"I summon Next Generation Searcher in Defense Position, set two cards face down, and end my turn."

The situation is not looking good, and at times like these, it is even more necessary for Guan Bai to proceed cautiously and steadily.

The round of the ox tail.

"My turn, draw a card!"
