Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds: The Path of Evolution

Kanpaku already knew that Yu-Gi-Oh! is a game with a large element of luck.

In the world of anime, luck has a particularly prominent impact on the win rate, with Joey Wheeler during the DM era being a typical example.

As a long-time anime fan and a dedicated player, Kanpaku summarized a piece of experience.

That is, when a duelist feels he has reached the pinnacle of his life and has successfully set up his biggest stage, fate will send down an opponent to severely punish him.

The bigger the venue, the smaller the venue – that's the idea.

It must be admitted that the two strange scenes that Gan Luo filmed were indeed very imposing.

As a deck with few special summoning points, Next Generation is very vulnerable to being pressured by big monsters, and its early game tempo can be easily crushed by high-stat cards.

If Guan Bai's hand is even slightly worse, he'll end up getting punched to death.

Unfortunately, today Guan Bai is the same big shot who came to punish Gan Luo.

"My turn, draw a card."

Without even glancing at the card he drew, Kanpaku simply took one from his previous five cards.

"I pay 800 Life Points to activate the Magic Card: Brainwash!"

"Based on its effect, I can gain control of one of your Normal Summoned monsters! Come forth, Emperor Soaring Dragon!"

The ripples of mind control emanated from the strange palm and drilled into the enormous golden head of the Emperor Soaring Wind Dragon.

"Emperor Soaring Wind Dragon, what's wrong with you? Hey, don't leave me!!"

Ganro shouted loudly at his monster.

But in the end, their love was deep but their fate was shallow.

Emperor Xiangfeng walked onto the field of the Regent without looking back, and roared at Gan Luo instead.

"Emperor Soaring Wind Dragon..."

Gan Luo trembled all over, looking at his ace on the opponent's field in despair.

"Activate Double Summon. I may perform two Normal Summons this turn."

Guan Bai quickly snapped two cards.

"I usually summon the next-generation controller, then liberate it, and the superior summons the next-generation army!"

"When the effect of 'Activating Next Generation Army' is successfully Tribute Summoned by Tributing a Next Generation Monster, you can target and destroy 1 card on your opponent's field!"

"I've chosen to destroy the evil knight dragon!"

The next-generation army unlocked fire control restrictions and fired at the evil knight dragon in the direction Guan Bai was pointing.

Four mechanical missiles trailing fireworks slammed into the serpentine dragon's body, exploding one after another until the entire dragon was engulfed!

Now Gan Luo has nothing left on the field.

"No, impossible, my strongest setup..."

Gan Luo stared blankly at his empty field, his voice hoarse and intermittent, like an old-fashioned radio that had jammed.

Guan Bai shook his head inwardly. Although you are arrogant, you are indeed very lucky.

Unfortunately, I was luckier!

Yu-Gi-Oh! is such a cruel game!

All duelists operate with the same ultimate goal: to prevent their opponents from playing Yu-Gi-Oh!

"Battle phase! Next-generation army, directly attack Gan Luo!"

The next-generation army marched with resounding strides, arriving before its opponent. It raised its azure mechanical fist, sending Gan Luo flying to the edge of the dueling arena.

"ah!!"

Gan Luo fell heavily to the ground, clearly suffering a severe injury!

Ganluo LP: 4000→1700

To show respect for his opponent, Kanpaku chose to let the Emperor Soaring Wind Dragon deliver the final blow to Gan Luo.

"The final blow, Emperor Soaring Wind Dragon!"

The golden dragon transformed into a charging streak of light, slamming into Gan Luo's entire body!

In the golden explosion, Gan Luo fell off the field and fell into a coma.

Silence.

Everyone was stunned by Guan Bai's one-shot kill, and even the host, who was supposed to announce the results of the match, was speechless with shock.

Even the viewers who had placed their bets on Kanpaku were gaping in disbelief.

Every card played by Kanpaku was as deadly as a killer's blade.

Before anyone could react, Guan Bai had already defeated Gan Luo in an instant!

This is unprecedented since the underground competition began! (Although it has only been held three times in total.)

Jol, sitting in the audience, was speechless with ecstasy.

Joel already knew that Kanpaku was a formidable fellow, but he never expected that he would pass the first match so easily!

She's struck gold! She's finally struck gold!

It seems that her long-held dream has finally opened its arms to her today!

Joel shouted out the excitement that had been pent up in his chest.

"Well done, Kanpaku!!"

The soaring female voice echoed throughout the stadium, like the striking sound of a bell, striking the minds of all the spectators.

Then, as if awakened, the entire audience erupted in thunderous cheers!

Even if they lose their bets, it doesn't stop them from cheering for the powerful duelists!

"Kanpaku, Kanpaku, Kanpaku!!!"

"Excellent! Kanpaku's dueling style is just like his title: precise, ferocious, and deadly!"

The host finally realized what was happening and loudly hyped up the atmosphere in the front of the stage.

"The winner of the first match is player Kanpaku!!"

"Let's look forward to it! What exciting matches will the next players bring us?!"

Guan Bai glanced around the audience seats, the cheers resounding powerfully in his heart.

This was the first time in his life that Kanpaku had stood in front of so many people, being held high by everyone.

He said with a helpless self-deprecating laugh.

"Is this what victory tastes like? No wonder Jack was willing to be Godwin's puppet and become king."

However, what Kanpaku wants is not such empty fame, but the absolute peak supported by strength!

Back to the background.

Allen's match was in Game 5, but he waited at the door ever since the match-up list was announced. Knowing he had a match, he couldn't sit still.

So even before Guan Bai reached the door, Alan saw him.

Alan's voice sounded like a mixture of excitement and nervousness.

"Kanpaku, you're truly amazing. If I were facing an opponent like that, I'd definitely have a tough fight..."

"I still remember your duel. In terms of offensive power, you are definitely not inferior to Gan Luo."

Guan Bai looked at Alan with some surprise.

He was so confident in the street competition, but I didn't expect him to be so stage-frightened when he encountered the underground competition.

It seems that his long-standing setbacks have left him with deep psychological scars.

However, the only way to cure this kind of mental illness is through repeated and complete victories, and Guan Bai can't help him with that.

The round of 16 matches took a long time.

When Kanpaku arrived at the venue, it was still afternoon. By the time the first round of matches was over, it was already six o'clock, which was evening.

The results on this side are not bad.

Allen also advanced.

His opponent was a warrior-type player who used flexible tactics to cause Allen a lot of trouble.

However, in the end, when both of them had exhausted their resources in the long dungeon, Allen miraculously drew a Scrap Chimera, which revived the Scrap Two-Headed Dog from the graveyard.

He delivered two punches totaling 3400, taking his opponent away.

However, despite such a victory, Allen still looked rather unhappy.

According to Allen himself, he would occasionally get through the first round in previous years, but he would always fall in the second round.

I don't know if he will repeat the same mistake this year, but I hope he won't.

After a short break, the quarterfinals began.
