Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds: The Path of Evolution

"I'll make the first move!"

As always, Kanpaku seized the initiative.

This time he used a next-generation deck.

This wasn't a spur-of-the-moment decision, but rather a plan he made in preparation for the Lucky Cup tournament.

He came to the city to participate in the Lucky Cup, of course, hoping to win.

So, just like in underground tournaments, in order to avoid being targeted by his opponents, he will definitely have to rotate the use of the four decks.

Now, use next-generation weapons and Valley of Dawn to confuse the issue, and then bring out the Great Sun and Dragon Riders for a decisive attack when the crucial events come.

Thinking this, Guan Bai drew out a card.

"My turn, draw a card!"

Kanpaku plays the monster from his hand card onto the field.

This is the first time he has summoned a next-generation monster since reaching the top eight in the underground tournament.

I feel a strange sense of nostalgia...

"My first summons: Next-Generation Searcher!"

The tattered, gray-brown machine shakily climbed onto the battlefield, raised its powerful mechanical arm, and pointed it directly at its opponent, Daochuan Yi's, brow.

"Cover two cards, end turn."

"My turn, draw a card!"

Daochuan drew his card and, without thinking, immediately placed it on the field.

"I usually summon dragonflies!"

A giant insect, as tall as a person, flew in from the sky, its two pairs of thin wings fluttering rapidly.

It spreads out invisible vibrations and ultra-high frequency bass, like a hunting signal, making people feel palpitations.

Kanpaku has never been fond of insects with compound eyes.

When I saw it appear, I couldn't help but shudder.

Daochuan didn't see the regent's reaction.

He carefully performed his operation, inserting a magic card into the Duel Disk.

"Activate a spell card to force a transfer."

"Each player chooses one monster from their field and exchanges control!"

Two curved arrows appeared on the ground of the dueling arena, and circular spiral ripples spread out, dazzling the eyes of the dragonflies and rescuers like mosquito coils.

They followed the arrows in a daze and each arrived at the enemy's territory.

"Attack power of 1600, that's quite a good monster... Now, I'll borrow it for a bit!"

"Battle Phase!"

Daochuan smiled sinisterly and roared as he pointed at the monster on the battlefield.

"Next-generation searchers, attack the dragonfly!"

This is his usual tactic.

Use forced transfer to bring over the opponent's powerful monster, the Minotaur, to be used as a henchman.

The monster given to the opponent has a "last words" effect.

If a dragonfly is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon a WIND monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck.

If the searcher's attack succeeds, it can increase the field value while inflicting massive damage on the opponent!

With the added pain amplification from the electric shock device, he was certain he could take down this kid in an instant!

However, the regent did not get what he wanted.

"Activate the Trap Card, Absorb Shield."

"Targeting the next-generation rescuer, nullify its attack and restore my base points to an amount equal to its attack power."

[Kanpaku LP: 4000 → 5600]

Seeing that the tactics had failed, Daochuan spat in dissatisfaction.

"Tch, set one card face down, end turn."

"My turn."

Kanpaku adds the card he drew to his hand, and then inserts another card into his Duel Disk.

"Activate the whirlwind and destroy that backcourt card of yours."

"Then, I usually summon the next-generation controller."

A bluish-gray whirlwind rose up, tearing through Daochuan's cover in an arc.

From the scattered fragments and faded colors, Guan Bai could tell that this was a torrent burial.

After the gray wind lines dissipated, a small brown robot appeared in front of Guan Bai.

If you give me the dragonfly, you can at least give me a Wind-type Synchro Material!

Guan Bai pointed to the sky with one finger and shouted loudly.

"I'm using a level 4 Dragonfly and a level 3 Next-Generation Controller for star tuning!"

"Mechanical god that manipulates the elements, transform into a raging wind that tears everything apart, and shred my enemies to pieces!"

"Synchronization Summon, Next-Generation Wind Powerer!"

A gray-white gale spiraled up, and the violent wind lines cut through the bricks and tiles in the alley like blades.

A huge, gray-green machine emerged from the gale and crashed down with the sound of its spinning wheels.

"Activate the effect of Next Generation Searcher: Special Summon 1 Next Generation Monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck!"

"I hereby Special Summon: Next-Generation Turbine!"

"It's a monster of the same type as a dragonfly?!"

Daochuan almost put on a mask of pain.

He never imagined that one day he would be beaten by the dueling tactics he was used to!

"Attack power 3000?!"

Who exactly is this unknown kid in front of me?

They actually created a monster with 3000 attack power so easily!

This guy doesn't look like someone I can easily take down!

Panic crept into his heart, and Daochuan looked somewhat flustered at Huangchuan, who was watching the battle from the side.

He tried to communicate with Michikawa using his eyes.

"This is a tricky idea. Have we been too careless?"

The latter, shameless as ever, gave Daochuan an OK sign.

Actually, Huangchuan was also feeling uneasy at this moment.

That's not what the intelligence report said.

According to what he had gathered about the past of this Kanpaku.

Shouldn't he be a man from a rural area outside of Shindo Mino who comes to the city for dueling training?

In the duels recorded in the intelligence, this Kanpaku clearly won very poorly.

Why did you suddenly become so fierce when you fought them?

Are all outsiders this capable these days?

Could the intelligence be false?

The intelligence was indeed false.

After all, how could he possibly know that everything about Kanpaku's past was a fabrication made up for him by Yego?

Huangchuan took a deep breath and gave Daochuan an OK sign.

He didn't expect Daochuan to easily defeat Guan Bai.

His trump card is the Dharma King component stored in Daochuan's Duel Disk!

Daochuan understood immediately, and his heart was instantly filled with confidence.

He glanced at Kanpaku on the other side of the dueling arena and smiled sinisterly.

Haha, if I can't beat you at cards, I'll use some underhanded tricks to electrocute you!
