Warhammer 40: Saviors Emerging from the Bottom

"Charle blasted that guy's head off with the laser gun. Everyone be careful, don't get close to these zombie-like things, or you might get infected."

As Xiao Yi reminded them, he retreated. Being able to survive in the deadly environment of the bottom nest did not mean that he could ignore the Nurgle plague in front of him.

These are two completely different things. The Nurgle Plague is not a pure disease, but a twisted combination of warp energy and biological pathogens, a manifestation of Nurgle's power.

The diverse and bizarre diseases not only destroy the bodies of those infected, but also distort their souls, turning the physical suffering into a fanatical worship of Nurgle, ultimately turning them into carriers of the plague.

Xiao Yi wasn't sure how high his current body's magic resistance was, or whether it could withstand Nurgle's plague, so for safety's sake, he decided to use the laser gun to deal with the plague zombie that was slowly approaching him from a distance.

Without hesitation, Charles raised his laser gun, aimed it at the plague zombie's head, and pulled the trigger without a second thought.

The blue laser struck precisely, vaporizing half of the walker's head, but this wound, which would be fatal to other creatures, had little effect on the walker.

"What kind of monster is this?"

"A living dead infected by the magical plague, lend me your laser gun for a moment, I'll return it to you later." Xiao Yi took the laser gun from Charles and began to pour energy into it.

Green arcs of electricity flickered around the gun, the hum of energy infusion grew louder and louder, finally turning into a deep roar as it charged straight at the enemy in front of it, blasting away half of the plague zombie's body with a single shot.

The zombie, having lost control of its brain, took two steps forward before crashing straight to the ground.

The scene before them stunned everyone present, including Xiao Yi himself.

Infusing energy into a power sword can increase its attack power to a certain extent. This method should also apply to laser guns, which are energy weapons of the same type. However, he did not expect that the laser he fired would be so powerful.

"What bad luck! We just left the lower hive and ran into Nurgle and the plague he created. At this rate, the entire lower hive is probably already overrun."

The green flies that had been feeding on the plague zombies were now swarming in the air, as if performing some kind of summoning ritual, gathering all the zombies that were still wandering around.

Before long, many small green dots emitting a faint light appeared within Xiao Yi's spiritual perception range.

"We can't stay here any longer. Where might the uninfected inhabitants of the lower nests be hiding?"

Without much thought, Charles, a local, immediately gave the answer: "The warehouse. Run in this direction. If there are any survivors here, they'll most likely be at the warehouse."

And so, Xiao Yi and his group, who had just crawled out of the bottom nest, began their frantic run once again.

The three most troublesome aspects of plague zombies are their large numbers, high infectivity, and difficulty in killing them.

But its flaws are also obvious: it's not smart and it runs slowly.

Therefore, Xiao Yi and his group encountered almost no obstacles along the way; the speed and mobility of the plague zombies made it impossible to effectively intercept them.

Fifteen minutes later, led by Charles, the group arrived at the location of the warehouse, where a blazing wall of fire stood, isolating the warehouse from the outside world.

If you look closely, you'll see figures moving in the firelight; they seem to be carrying something, and those are likely the survivors of this area.

"Looks like we have no choice but to charge through." Xiao Yi glanced at the plague zombies blocked outside by the wall of fire and felt a headache coming on.

Even in sparsely populated outlying areas, tens of thousands of zombies can be easily gathered; needless to say, in densely populated residential areas, it's even more so.

The plague zombies, waiting outside the wall of fire for their chance to spread the blessings bestowed upon them by the Great Father to other humans, slowly awoke from their semi-dormant state after seeing six humans suddenly appear behind them.

One, two, three... thousands of bloated, foul-smelling zombies charged simultaneously, though their speed was only slightly faster than a normal human jog.

The plague zombies following closely behind Xiao Yi gathered together, cutting off their retreat.

If it were just an ordinary squad of human survivors, they would already be sentenced to death at this point.

But Xiao Yi and his group were different. Apart from him, who had an unfair advantage, the rest of them were battle-hardened warriors who were extremely devout to the Emperor. With a bit of luck, it wouldn't be a problem for them to break through the zombie army without taking any damage.

"Stay behind me and take precautions. Make sure nothing that may contain plague germs comes into contact with your wounds or other easily infected areas."

This was specially provided by the governor to help them adapt to the harsh living conditions of the bottom hive; even Arya, a prisoner, had a set.

"As long as you're fast enough, you can avoid the blood splattered by the zombies." Xiao Yi took a deep breath and randomly entered killing mode.

Arya raised her hand and summoned psionic lightning to blast a path through them. Then, Xiao Yi led Matthias and the others in a charge. Any zombies that dared to stand in his way were mercilessly shredded into pieces by the power sword.

In an instant, blood and pus flew everywhere around Xiao Yi, creating a bizarre and cruel scene.

However, there were too many enemies around, and there was not enough space for Xiao Yi to dodge. Before he knew it, his arm was stained with the blood of the zombies.

The imagined scenario of skin ulceration and sores did not occur. The moment blood splattered on his body, Xiao Yi's body instinctively began to protect itself.

The tiny blood spots on my arm, no bigger than a fingernail, were instantly burned to ashes.
