The Wizard: Starting with Infinite Part-Time Jobs
Chapter 24 Sea Storm, Absurdity
"Aiden, we can't get on this wizard ship, we'll go on the next one." Bondi looked at Aiden, who had a blank stare, and shook him vigorously with both hands, making Aiden's head sway from side to side.
Bondi, being more oblivious, was somewhat surprised by what he saw, but more excited than surprised.
Most of the wizard apprentices in the outer living area came out, and they stared in disbelief at the crack in the sky, as if they were under a spell.
The crack clearly points towards the inner living area.
The expressions on everyone's faces varied. But most, like Aiden, were unable to accept it for the moment, their eyes filled with confusion.
"Junior Brother Aiden."
Winnie appeared outside Aiden's cabin and gently raised her hand to wave at Aiden.
Behind her was Fiano, whom she had met before, and who harbored ill intentions.
The latter was still dressed in silver-patterned aristocratic attire, with his hands behind his back, head held high, and a relaxed expression on his face.
Aiden rushed forward, taking three steps at a time, and said anxiously, "Senior Sister Winnie, are you leaving?"
Bondi, standing next to Aiden, looked at Aiden with astonishment, as if he had witnessed something unbelievable.
The woman in front of me, with her serene appearance and temperament, was clearly no ordinary person.
In her, Bondi sensed a unique quality similar to that of Galatea.
"I estimate it will be later." Senior Sister Winnie calmly shook her head, glanced at the crack in the sky, and a look of worry flashed in her eyes.
"Aren't you going to the wizarding world on the wizarding ship?"
"I don't know either. Mr. Ford said that the wizard ship encountered a storm at sea and some other issues, so it will be a little late," Senior Sister Winnie explained patiently.
"I see," Aiden said slowly.
"Aiden, who is this?" Bondi asked curiously.
"Oh, I forgot to introduce you. This is my senior sister Winnie. This is the prince of our Atlantis Empire, and also my friend," Aiden introduced the two to each other.
"Hello, Your Highness Bondi." Senior Sister Winnie smiled and nodded to Bondi.
"I am not a prince, just an ordinary person, an ordinary person pursuing the path of a wizard," Bondi said modestly.
As Bondi spent more time in the Forbidden Forest Basin, he gradually became detached from worldly affairs.
He is no longer as impetuous as before, but has become much more composed.
Moreover, he felt that Aiden was becoming more and more mysterious, and he couldn't figure him out.
The three chatted casually for a few more minutes, then Winnie nodded to the two of them to indicate that she was leaving.
Before leaving, she slipped a small jade pendant into Aiden's hand and said earnestly, "Junior Brother Aiden, your senior sister will soon be going to the wizarding world and won't be able to take care of you for much longer. This jade pendant is a keepsake I'm leaving for you. When you see it, remember me."
Aiden solemnly accepted the small jade pendant, which was about the size of a thumb and had a soft texture.
"Senior Sister Winnie, I will keep this jade pendant with me."
"You should be careful of Fiano who's following you. I don't think he's a good person."
Aiden narrowed his eyes and glanced casually at the young man not far away.
"Don't worry, I'll be careful." Senior Sister Winnie nodded calmly.
"Your Highness Bondi, I'm leaving now. Please take good care of Aiden from now on."
"Don't worry, Aiden's got my back," Bondi said, patting his chest.
After watching Winnie leave, Bondi grinned and patted Aiden's shoulder hard, making Aiden stagger. "Not bad, kid. You have a senior sister who cares about you that much. Compared to you, I feel like a complete loner."
Aiden shrugged. "Stop teasing me. By the way, how's Galatea? I haven't seen her in days."
"I don't know the specifics either, but he and that poisonous woman Vera were the first to go into seclusion."
"Then I wish her a speedy end to her seclusion. It's been a few days since I've seen her, and I'm still a little unaccustomed to it." After saying this, Aiden said goodbye to Bondi.
He's been focusing on improving his mastery of the [Archer - Lin Ying Apprentice] skill these past few days, even neglecting his regular training. He wishes he had 48 hours a day to train.
"You two are real training fanatics. Even with all my efforts, I still can't compare to you." Bondi said with a wry smile, looking at Aiden's tightly closed door, his hands on his hips. "But it's enough that I'm working harder than I used to be."
……
One week later.
Aiden finished his daily training and went alone through the passage to the experimental area.
He kept playing with the small jade pendant hanging around his neck the whole way, as if his senior sister Winnie was still with him.
On the way, he opened his career panel.
[Name: Aiden]
Main profession: None
[Secondary Job (1/∞): Acrobat ★ (94%)]
【Occupation Search: Carpenter Assistant ★ (40%), Archer - Forest Shadow Apprentice ★☆ (57%)】
[Core competencies: Basic animal behavior, encyclopedia of continental biology, simple tool making...]
[Profession Limit Break Value: 1]
"The progression of the Acrobat profession has slowed down significantly. The Carpenter's Assistant profession remains the same; it unlocks a little bit each time the wooden meditation chair ages."
"I really want to just tear it apart, but unfortunately I just bought two meditation stone fragments, which isn't enough to cover the cost of dismantling it."
"As for the Lin Ying apprentice profession, through my daily hard training, I have already increased the resolution to 57%, which is extremely fast."
Upon arriving at the experimental area, the crack in the already somewhat gloomy sky became even clearer, and the surrounding air grew heavy, with a faint chill permeating the air.
Aiden was already used to it.
Just then, the crack suddenly trembled, as if an invisible hand was pulling at it.
A corner of a huge ship, stretching as far as the eye could see, was revealed.
The ship was so large that the surrounding air was compressed and made a whooshing sound as it passed by.
The formal wizard apprentices in the experimental area all looked up as if they sensed something.
Aiden stood there stunned for a long while before muttering to himself, "The wizard ship has finally arrived."
He rubbed his eyes hard, then strained to open them wide.
Only a corner of the boat could be vaguely seen; it looked like a large wooden ship with some mottled marks on its hull.
"This wizard ship looks kind of broken and old."
Aiden tilted his head, examined it carefully, and then came to a conclusion.
Ten seconds later, small dots were sucked into the wizard ship from the inner living area. There were about a hundred dots, and these were all formal wizard apprentices.
Aiden craned his neck, straining to see, and even vaguely saw his senior sister Winnie waving at him.
"Senior Sister Winnie, take care!"
After a short while, the little dot disappeared.
The wizard ship vanished instantly, and the rift closed with a "whoosh," as if it had never existed.
After nearly a week of restlessness, the sky has finally returned to its usual calm, leaving only a clear blue expanse.
Aiden looked at the azure sky and said, "There's an absurd feeling, like I'm hallucinating."
……
In Ms. Ollie's laboratory.
Aiden saw Ms. Ollie sitting in a chair.
However, unlike usual, Ms. Ollie seemed to be staring blankly at the sky.
Her fingers tapped unconsciously on the armrest of the chair.
"Good afternoon, Ms. Ollie. I'm here for work," Aiden said with a smile, bowing slightly.
Ms. Ollie managed a weak smile, nodded, and said in a low voice, "Yes, you've come."
"You look a little down," Aiden said with concern, taking two steps forward.
This was the first time he had ever seen Ms. Ollie look like this.
