The Wizard: Starting with Infinite Part-Time Jobs

"I didn't expect you to see through my thoughts. How embarrassing." Ms. Ollie quickly regained her composure.

As a high-ranking wizard apprentice, it was unacceptable for Aiden, a newcomer, to see through his thoughts.

"Of course, it's because Ms. Ollie is very approachable in front of me," Aiden said with a smile.

In his heart, he already regarded Ms. Ollie as a kind senior.

Although the other person's appearance is indeed quite unbearable.

However, there was never any oppression, nor was there much of the typical boss-employee relationship.

Ms. Ollie shook her head dismissively and said slowly, "You saw the wizard ship from before, didn't you?"

"Yes, I saw it," Aiden said with a smile. "The rift in the sky lasted for almost a week, and the wizard ships left in less than two minutes. I think they've already headed to the wizarding world."

"This wizard ship is really big, but it looks a bit dilapidated, not quite what I imagined."

Silver Dragonheartwood? Aiden was somewhat confused.

"The silver dragon is a totem in the wizarding world. In ancient times, the silver dragon represented the ultimate magic. Eventually, magic evolved into even more powerful sorcery," Ms. Ollie explained.

Aiden was somewhat shocked; his mouth was slightly open, and his face was full of surprise.

However, he quickly grasped the true meaning behind Ms. Ollie's words.

"In other words, there's a problem with the materials used to build this wizard ship; it's not Silver Dragonheartwood," Aiden continued.

He narrowed his eyes, and the sense of decay surrounding the wizard's ship came into view.

The shattered light and shadow flickered in the air; this must be a characteristic of the Void Vine.

He also kept this in mind.

"That's right. The Void Vine can distort the surrounding light to form an invisible barrier, preventing it from being tracked." Ms. Ollie nodded slightly.

Aiden was somewhat taken aback, and his heart suddenly pounded.

"Are you kidding me? The once grand wizard ship has turned into something like a thief on the run." Aiden's face was full of disbelief. "This is completely out of character for the wizarding world."

"You should have guessed it by now, something's wrong with the Wizarding World. Or rather, there's some other force targeting the Wizarding World," Ms. Ollie said, her eyes revealing worry.

She then noticed Aiden's somewhat dazed expression and said gently, "Aiden, I think you've already memorized the meditation technique to its later stages. If you regret it, I can have the animal servants send you away from this Forbidden Forest Basin."

"There's nothing wrong with being a mortal with a lifespan of a few decades. Sometimes, a long lifespan is a curse."

Aiden shook his head vigorously.

Let's not even mention that Winnie just went to the Wizarding World.

Even Bondi and Galatea, who were close to him, were still striving to become wizards.

He had no reason to give up halfway.

"Ms. Ollie, I will not back down. Being a mortal is too boring." Aiden shook his head with a smile and continued, "No matter what, this wizard ship still came out to guide wizarding seeds, didn't it? I think the wizarding world is in trouble, but at least it's still in a stage where it can hold on. It's not like we're going to our deaths."

"Hmm. The Wizarding World, as a higher-dimensional world and the known final-stage spellcaster civilization, cannot be overthrown overnight. You can get back to work; I also need to wrap up my project. Just pretend you didn't hear this conversation." Ms. Auli glanced at Aiden, then turned and went back to her laboratory.

Aiden composed himself, took a deep breath, and then threw himself into a busy day of work.

"My relationship with the Three-Eyed Goat is now fully established. Today I gave it basic animal training and unlocked 2% of its acrobatic skills. It now has 96% mastery." Aiden paused, then continued, "I'll soon be promoted to Black Market Beast Fighter."

As Aiden walked along the road, he noticed that there were far fewer grey-robed wizard apprentices on the road.

Many people were walking hurriedly, cursing incessantly.

"Damn it, the cost of living in this basin has gone up. It's increased from one magic stone per month to two magic stones per month!" A wizard apprentice exclaimed, his face flushed.

"Yeah, isn't this robbery?" another wizard apprentice said through gritted teeth, frowning, and quickened his pace.

Aiden frowned upon hearing this.

"Why would prices suddenly go up? Could it be related to the appearance of that wizard ship?"

"There's a problem in the wizarding world, so we need more resources." Aiden's voice was low, only he could hear it.

Fortunately, he still had Ms. Ollie's job, so the magic stones were still within his budget.

"However, the commoner wizard apprentices in this outer living area are probably completely unable to survive, and some noble wizard apprentices who are also short of money are also struggling to make ends meet."

Aiden couldn't help but think of Quillins, the commoner wizard with whom he had a good relationship and who worked very hard.

He hurried over and saw Quillins' thin body lying on the walkway, stiff and pale as paper.

The girl named Sera was holding him and crying, tears streaming down her face and soaking Quillins' clothes.

"He's completely dead. I can offer a magic stone to buy his corpse," someone nearby said calmly, without any pity on their face, as if they were discussing something perfectly ordinary.

"Don't be sad. As a wizard, you should learn to get used to it," someone nearby advised, their tone indifferent.

Their eyes scanned Quillins' body as if assessing the value of an object.

These people were all very indifferent and showed little emotion at the loss of a life.

Their expressions were numb; they had become accustomed to life and death.

"Get out of here, all of you! You're the ones who killed Quillins. He was so good, so good, and he ruined me too."

Upon hearing this, Sera became somewhat hysterical, shouting incessantly like a madwoman.

Her hair was scattered messily across her face.
