The Wizard: Starting with Infinite Part-Time Jobs

Despite constantly complaining, Aiden did not give up.

He hadn't been here long; the original owner was an orphan with no one to rely on.

Aiden turned to look at Calvin, who was standing close by, his face so dark it looked like it could drip water. He gritted his teeth, grabbed a tombstone with both hands, and threw himself away.

Calvin hadn't expected Aiden to be so fast.

His face grew increasingly grim, and the murderous intent in his heart intensified, like a burning flame.

"Damn it. This guy isn't even a prospective knight, yet he's managed to survive for so long while being chased by a standard knight like me." Calvin gritted his teeth, gripping his axe even tighter.

The spatial butterfly perched on Aiden's shoulder watched its monkey-like, agile master, its antennae trembling as if it were deep in thought.

"Dad, are you... here?" The spatial butterfly tilted its head and asked in a childish voice.

"I'm running away," Aiden replied irritably, panting heavily as he ran.

"Oh right, I almost forgot about you." Aiden suddenly remembered the spatial butterfly on his shoulder, as if he had grasped at the last straw.

In his eyes, Xiaodie was just a little baby with low intelligence and no outstanding features. He looked at Xiaodie with expectation in his eyes.

"Besides that spatial pocket, what other skills do you have? Something that can fight people?" Aiden asked anxiously, his voice trembling with nervousness, his hope ignited.

"Yes... but I'll fall asleep if I use it." The voice of the spatial butterfly was weak, as if it was afraid of something.

"Why didn't you say so sooner? Your father's life is your life, you know?" Aiden said with wide eyes and a serious expression.

"Understood..." The spatial butterfly nodded, its antennae swaying gently.

"How effective is your move? If it's just a tickle, I'll keep running and stall for as long as I can," Aiden asked seriously.

"We can...cut the tree down," the spatial butterfly said after a moment's hesitation.

"It's quite powerful. We can take a gamble. At worst, we can injure Calvin."

Aiden thought for a moment, then his eyes lit up. He said seriously, "Here's what you do: hit the guy chasing me from behind in the neck. Remember, don't miss."

"Okay... let me get ready." The body of the spatial butterfly gradually trembled, and Aiden felt the weight on his shoulders suddenly increase, as if something was gathering strength.

At the same time, a line of transparent text appeared in Aiden's mind.

"The Space Void Butterfly has acquired its core ability—the enhancement of biological combat skills."

Aiden raised an eyebrow, a surge of joy in his heart.

He knew he needed to stall for time to give the spatial butterfly enough time to prepare.

"So, you're not planning to run away after all, little mouse?" Calvin looked at Aiden, who had stopped, and a mocking smile appeared on his face.

He arrogantly swung the axe in his hand, the axe drawing streaks of cold light in the air.

"Calvin, I guess you probably won't see the sun rise tomorrow," Aiden said with a shrug, trying to sound nonchalant, even though his legs were still trembling.

Calvin, his face dark, like an angry bull, strode over step by step, each step carrying a powerful sense of oppression.

Sweat began to trickle down Aiden's forehead and down his cheeks.

"Aiden, have you gone mad from memorizing the memory meditation technique?" Calvin mocked, his voice echoing through the forest of tombstones.

"Xiaodie, are you done yet?" Aiden asked softly, his voice so low it was almost inaudible.

"Dad, not yet..." The voice of the spatial butterfly trembled.

Aiden gritted his teeth, made a snap decision, and threw a punch directly at Calvin, who was standing right in front of him.

His fist, carrying a powerful gust of wind, hurtled towards Calvin like a bullet fired from a gun.

puff!

Calvin blocked Aiden's fist with both arms, making Aiden feel as if his fist had hit a wall, unable to move.

His face turned bright red, veins bulged on his forehead, and his body trembled from the exertion.

"You know nothing about the power of a standard knight." Calvin smirked, looking at Aiden provocatively.

"I will take good care of you..." Calvin roared, his fanatical face contorted with rage.

Before his fanatical face could even change, a strange white light suddenly shot out from Aiden's shoulder.

The white light was as swift as lightning, piercing through his chest with a hissing sound.

Calvin's body jolted violently, and he was thrown backward uncontrollably by the impact, his feet leaving two deep marks on the ground until he crashed into a large tree.

With a loud "boom," the trees began to shake.

"Dad, I... I missed." Xiaodie's weak voice echoed in Aiden's mind, sounding timid.

Little Butterfly slumped completely onto Aiden's shoulder and stopped moving.

It looks like it's in hibernation.

Aiden gently shook his shoulder, but Xiaodie still didn't react.

Things happened so fast that by the time Aiden reacted, Calvin was already standing motionless under the big tree five meters away.

His body leaned limply against the tree, his head drooping, looking as if he were dead, with an incredulous expression on his face and his mouth open as if he wanted to say something.

"Goodness." Aiden was stunned for a while before finally managing to utter three words.

He stared at Calvin's body, his heart filled with astonishment.

How many more surprises does this little Space Butterfly have in store?

Calvin, with his thick skin and tough flesh, was instantly killed thanks to my enhanced biological combat skills?

Aiden shook his head as he thought about it.

Aiden spent an hour finding a suitable spot nearby and buried Calvin's body in a random hole.

He then checked all of Calvin's pockets.

"You know nothing about my Little Butterfly either."

"Calvin, I'm actually quite nice to you, I'll take care of your body. I'll gladly accept all the resources you had, it's all an equal exchange." Aiden muttered as he put the loot into his pockets.

As for the armor he was wearing, Aiden tried to move it, but found it was too heavy to dispose of, so he buried it along with the armor.

He stood up, patted the dirt off his clothes, and looked up at the gradually breaking dawn. The sky was turning a pale white, and everything around him was shrouded in a thin mist.

Aiden left the cemetery without looking back.

"Things won't happen more than three times. I won't leave the basin again until I have enough self-defense capabilities." Aiden clenched his fist and made a silent vow.

Inside the cabin, Aiden sat at the table and poured a small bag of magic stones that he had found onto the table.

"Poor bastard. There are only 7 magic stones in the bag, not even enough for me to earn in a month. With this level of skill, you still look down on others every day. So what if you're a noble?" Aiden couldn't help but complain as he counted the magic stones, his face full of disdain.

Before he knew it, Aiden realized that he had firmly established himself among the prospective wizard apprentices, leaving many others behind.

"Knowledge changes destiny, the ancients were right." Aiden crossed his arms and planned earnestly, "Next, I'll focus all my efforts on mastering the meditation technique and become a formal wizard apprentice as soon as possible. As for the job analysis of [Forest Shadow Apprentice] and [Carpentry Assistant], I'll work on them when I have time."
