The Wizard: Starting with Infinite Part-Time Jobs

Chapter 32 Mysterious Pocket, Enemies Meet on a Narrow Road

"Okay, okay, I've got it." Aiden shook his head helplessly and noted the message down in his mind.

He knew that humans have a weak sense of smell.

Many wizards would modify their noses to improve their sense of smell, something he had heard from Lady Ollie.

Aiden thought of the wizards who modified noses, and the thought of his own nose becoming the nose of another creature was still hard for him to accept.

"Xiaodie, tell me where you hid his body? Is this your special ability?" Aiden asked curiously.

"Hidden in my...pocket." The spatial butterfly's reply appeared in my mind.

"Then you can help me pack some things in the future?" Aiden asked tentatively, his eyes lighting up.

"Okay..." the spatial butterfly said.

"That's great!" Aiden grinned from ear to ear.

This spatial manipulation ability is unlike anything else in the art style of other creatures.

He looked at the virtual butterfly perched on his shoulder and had a bold idea.

Is there such a possibility?

This spatial butterfly is the rare creature from the continent of Aurelia that Ms. Ollie mentioned.

If so, he'll have made a huge profit.

Aiden became more and more excited as he thought about it, and his body began to tremble.

"Little Butterfly, from now on you should hide your color. Don't let anyone but me see you," Aiden urged.

The spatial butterfly slowly became transparent, and Aiden could still feel its slight weight on his shoulder.

"It's truly amazing," Aiden exclaimed.

Just as Aiden was walking along the path leading to the cemetery, he heard several voices arguing nearby.

The sound grew louder and louder, accompanied by some chaotic footsteps.

His ears twitched, and he heard Calvin's voice.

The surrounding night was dark, and the trees cast shadowy shapes in the darkness, adding to the eeriness of the place.

"Why is this guy here in the middle of the night instead of resting?" Aiden asked, raising an eyebrow, his face full of doubt.

Calvin, Bondi, Galatea, and the others were no longer in the same circle.

Aiden and his friends often saw him walking with Prince Haske, the prince they had argued with before. When they occasionally bumped into each other, they would just ignore each other, passing by without even exchanging a glance.

What is Calvin doing now? How is his training going? Nobody talks about it, and Aiden knows nothing about it either.

"Never mind, it has nothing to do with me." Aiden shrugged and prepared to leave.

He took a step, but then stopped.

A figure suddenly appeared in the bushes to Aiden's side.

To be precise, it was a figure covered in blood, his body riddled with wounds, the blood gushing out and staining his clothes a dark red.

He staggered toward Aiden's location, leaving a bloody footprint with each step, as if grasping at a straw, waving his hands wildly.

"What the hell?" Aiden took a few steps back, his eyes wide.

The man was wearing the robes of a prospective wizard apprentice, but he didn't recognize him.

"Save me, please save me," the man cried out to Aiden, his voice weak and trembling, as he coughed up blood.

Aiden was about to say something when an axe appeared above the man's neck with a whooshing sound and then chopped down.

"Thud." The sound of the axe slicing into the neck was exceptionally clear.

Blood splattered onto the nearby grass, and a head fell to the ground.

It rolled twice on the ground, its eyes still wide open, filled with terror and resentment.

Calvin shoved the axe back into his back, blood dripping from the blade onto the ground. He spat on the ground and said viciously, "Pah, you think you can get away with this?"

Then he smirked, tilted his head, and looked at Aiden not far away, a ferocious smile on his face.

"What a small world," Calvin said, clenching his fists and making a cracking sound at his knuckles.

Without a second thought, Aiden turned and ran.

Because of nervousness, his steps were a little unsteady.

"Damn it, what bad luck," Aiden cursed, spittle flying from his mouth.

Without stopping, he ran straight towards the cemetery he knew best. Tree branches tore his clothes along the way, but he didn't care.

Calvin's voice came from behind: "Aiden, is all you know how to do is run? You and that guy who just died are both unworthy of being a wizard apprentice. Only nobles are qualified to receive knowledge. It is a disgrace to me for a commoner like you to be learning in the same environment as us."

Calvin's voice grew louder and louder, filled with anger and sarcasm.

Aiden ignored him.

He knew that Calvin, that bastard, had always looked down on people of commoner origin.

In his eyes, commoners were inferior and were born to serve the nobles.

Aiden was only thinking about how to escape, so he quickened his pace, kicking up dirt as he stepped on it.

He had previously heard that Calvin was a standard knight and carried an axe.

If they were to fight head-on, he would definitely be no match for him, and the thought sent a chill down his spine.

"If Audrey were here, she'd probably be much stronger than Calvin. I still remember how gracefully Audrey killed that big black tiger with a single sword strike." But that was just wishful thinking, Aiden shook his head helplessly.

Fortunately, Calvin's running speed was not fast.

Perhaps it was because of his short stature, but the distance between him and Aiden was still constantly decreasing.

Aiden glanced back and saw Calvin, his face flushed and veins bulging on his forehead, relentlessly pursuing him.

His heart tightened, and he thought to himself, "Damn it, the distance is getting closer and closer."

Soon, Aiden disappeared back into the familiar forest of tombstones, which were of varying heights and some with indistinct inscriptions.

He navigated nimbly among the scattered tombstones, turning left and right as he tried to shake off Calvin.

"This Forbidden Forest isn't a lawless place. As long as someone passes by, or it's daytime, Calvin can't do anything to me," Aiden muttered to himself as he ran, his voice trembling with tension.

During the day, caravans would travel along predetermined routes to transport supplies to the Forbidden Forest Basin.

Whoosh!

An axe, accompanied by the sound of wind being cut, sank directly into the tombstone beside Aiden.

The tombstone collapsed with a loud crash, sending shards of stone flying everywhere, making Aiden shudder.

"Aiden, you can't escape!" Calvin's voice came from behind as he drew closer.

His footsteps were exceptionally clear in the silent forest of tombstones, each step seeming to tread on Aiden's heart.

"Damn it. Heaven is against me." Aiden gritted his teeth, veins bulging on his forehead, and said viciously, "I'm such a weakling. I'm such a coward every day."

Last time he encountered the big black tiger, he was helpless and could only run away desperately like a frightened rabbit.

When he encountered Calvin alone this time, he wished he had two more legs so he could run even faster.
