The Wizard: Starting with Infinite Part-Time Jobs

Chapter 49: A Bountiful Harvest, Child of Darkness

"Holy crap! Galácticos is that ruthless?!"

Aiden shook his head in surprise, his hair somewhat disheveled.

He felt that many things had happened that night; not only had he committed murder, but he had also seen another side of Galatea that no one else knew.

For Galatea, Aiden appearing outside Haske's room was something she never expected.

Her eyes were full of surprise.

Galatea never expected that Aiden would have such a talent for archery.

The arrow Aiden had fired earlier pierced Haske's heart, a sight witnessed by Galatea, who was standing behind Aiden.

Moreover, Aiden's decisive strike completely killed Haske.

"We'll talk about the specifics later. We need to clean up this place first," Aiden said, wiping the blood from his face and frowning.

He dug a hole in Haske's garden, threw the two bodies in, and buried them on the spot.

Although I know this is a bit hasty.

But it's still better than having Haske's body found inside the house, and it's even less likely that he would carry Haske's body to the graveyard outside the Forbidden Forest Basin to bury it.

Galatea bent down, grabbed the refugee witch's body with both hands, and dragged it away to help Aiden bury the body as well.

Her hair was a little messy, and there was some dirt on her face.

After doing all this, the two looked at each other and smiled.

"Let's go quickly! I'm worried someone will see us."

Galatea grabbed Aiden's arm, intending to leave with him, but Aiden shook his head, signaling her to wait.

Aiden whispered, "Killing someone and not touching the body will bring divine retribution."

As he spoke, he rubbed his hands together and went back into Haske's cabin, where he began rummaging through drawers and cabinets.

He forcefully pulled open each drawer, dumping out all the contents and making a mess on the floor.

It took Aiden more than 10 minutes to gather all the valuable items and pack them into a bulging package.

Then, he hurriedly pulled Galatea back to his cabin.

……

At this moment, both of them were a little tired in Aiden's cabin.

Aiden plopped down in the chair, let out a long sigh, and rubbed his sore shoulders.

He pointed to the two corpses in the garden and said to Galatea, "Look, two more people died tonight. These two were sent by Haske to assassinate me. I'm really something, even a nobody like me gets assassinated."

Galatea's pupils dilated slightly, and her body trembled.

She never expected that Aiden would be targeted by an assassin sent by Haske.

More importantly, he was also killed on the spot by Aiden.

That night, Aiden killed three people with swift and decisive action!

"Aiden, what secret do you hold?" Galatea was deeply puzzled.

She stared straight at Aiden, which made him a little embarrassed; his face flushed, and he scratched his head.

The two stood very close in the dim light, the light casting shadows on their faces.

Their hearts were pounding again, and the atmosphere was somewhat ambiguous.

The room was so quiet that the only sound was their breathing.

Aiden began to explain...

Galatea listened attentively.

"In short, that's roughly what happened to me tonight. I killed two assassins first, which made me unhappy, and then I took care of Haske as well," Aiden shrugged and quickly changed the subject.

"I see." Galatea nodded.

"So what about you? Why did you suddenly come out?" Aiden asked, still puzzled.

"Aiden, this is the special talent I wanted to tell you about," Galatea said.

Then she slowly raised her palm, which had dark lines on it, lines that seemed to be alive, wriggling faintly.

Aiden stared wide-eyed at the dark patterns, his mouth agape, and exclaimed in shock, "This is dark magic?"

"That's right, I didn't expect it either. My special talent is that of a child of darkness, with an extremely high affinity for the dark attribute. Even without practicing dark attribute meditation, I can still condense dark attribute magical power." Galatea shook her head helplessly and sighed softly.

"Child of Darkness?" Aiden murmured to himself, his brow furrowed as if he were deep in thought.

"In short, I'm naturally suited to cultivating dark-attribute meditation techniques and casting dark-attribute sorcery. When I cultivate, my progress is extremely fast," Galatea whispered.

"But I didn't see you use any magic before, you just walked in from the corner like that." Aiden said, somewhat puzzled, tilting his head and touching his chin with one hand.

"That's my second special talent, the Dark Portal." Galatea paused, gestured with her hands in the air, and continued, "I placed a small door in the corner of Haske's cottage garden, intending to deal with him tonight. I didn't expect to run into you with a bow and arrow pointed at me as soon as I stepped out of the small door."

As she spoke, Galatea stared wide-eyed at Aiden, leaning forward, "How did you know I was coming from there? Or is there some flaw in my talent?"

Galatea continued, saying that she didn't know if she did it intentionally.

The two were now much closer together, and Aiden could even clearly feel the trembling of Galatea's eyelashes.

His face flushed even more, and he stepped back slightly.

Aiden took a deep breath, shrugged, and said, "Just a coincidence. A rat walked by before you came out, and I thought someone was hiding there!"

Although Galatea honestly revealed her two special talents, Aiden did not want to tell Galatea about his own special talents.

After all, as long as he has the job panel, he can continuously learn new jobs, advance in rank, and gain more special talents and more combinations.

These things are so shocking that they're unbelievable!

"I see." Galatea nodded.

I don't know if he believed it or not. In any case, it relieved Aiden.

"In other words, both of your special talents make you extremely suited to learning dark-attribute meditation techniques. You'll need to find a dark-attribute wizarding organization in the future," Aiden quickly changed the subject.

"Perhaps, but I only want to be a wizard scholar."

Galatea hesitated for a moment, then gently bit her lower lip and said softly.

"You mean you want to do research and don't like combat, but your talent is perfect for it," Aiden said seriously. "But it's your own choice, and as your good friend, I'll support you no matter what."

Just then, a faint sound came from Aiden's pocket.

Although the noise was small, it was exceptionally clear in the quiet atmosphere.

Aiden's heart skipped a beat, his body stiffened instantly, then his face lit up with joy, his eyes widened, and he excitedly slapped his thigh, thinking, "Could it be... Little Butterfly has woken up?"

Galatea was taken aback by Aiden's sudden change in expression, her face full of bewilderment.

"Oh, right." Aiden remembered that they hadn't divided the spoils yet, and he said this while quickly smiling.

He then quickly walked to the side, suddenly opened the package that was placed aside, and the contents poured out with a "whoosh".

Inside, there were about 120 magic stones.

Not only that, there are also 5 ash wood wands.

And a ring-shaped thing that looks like a filter, lying all alone next to it.

Aiden and Galatea exchanged a glance, both able to see the shock in each other's eyes.

"Hasker is really rich. It's true that making money is not as fast as selling stolen goods," Aiden muttered to himself.

"Everyone who sees it gets a share, so we'll split it in half," Aiden continued.

"No need, I'll just take one-third. I didn't do anything." Galatea silently reached out and took 40 magic stones and a white ash wood wand.

She didn't even glance at the rest, as if they held no appeal for her whatsoever.

"Then I'll gladly accept it," Aiden said without any hesitation.

"As for this ring-shaped thing, do you know what it is?"

Aiden picked up the filter-like thing, held it in front of his eyes, examined it carefully, and occasionally turned it around with his hand.

"If I'm not mistaken, this should be the energy ring of a wand," Galatea said after a moment's hesitation and careful consideration.
