The Wizard: Starting with Infinite Part-Time Jobs

Chapter 65 All by Fate, Sir Richard

As his lost consciousness returned, Aiden's eyelids trembled slightly, and his head felt as heavy as if it were filled with lead.

He struggled to open his eyes and looked at Galatea, who was pushing him forcefully beside him.

Galatea frowned, as if she were urgently calling out something.

Aiden nodded slightly, conveying with his eyes that "I'm fine."

"Where am I?" Aiden asked in a hoarse voice as he got up, swaying and almost falling to the ground again.

"It looks like it's on the deck of a wizard's ship," Galatea replied, standing up and frowning.

Aiden nudged Bondi beside him, and Bondi groaned sleepily and looked up.

He looked up at the sky; all around him was pitch black.

All I knew was that I was in a passageway.

Even after boarding the wizard's ship, one cannot see the end of the ship at a glance; all that can be seen outside the ship is illusory, as if veiled by a thin gauze.

"This is the effect of the Void Vine." Aiden muttered to himself, his mouth slightly open, while gently shaking his head as he spoke.

Just then, a man in a blue robe, clutching a magic wand, rushed over in a panic and said, "Newcomers of the continent of Orellania, quickly activate the life-saving orb!"

His hair was blown into a mess, and his face was full of anxiety.

After saying that, he flicked his wand, and a series of spheres "whooshed" in front of Aiden and the others who were still confused.

"Inject your spiritual energy to activate this life sphere. Whether you survive or not depends entirely on fate." After saying this, the man in the blue robe hurriedly moved to other parts of the deck.

"..."

Aiden and Galatea looked at each other, Aiden's mouth agape.

Galatea bit her lip, her eyes revealing worry.

"What the hell? Are you kidding me? You think I'm here to die?" Aiden said, raising his eyebrows in exasperation.

Aiden took a deep breath and channeled his mental energy into the lifebuoy. Soon, he was enveloped in it, as if he were inside a transparent bubble, the surface of which shimmered with a faint light.

Galatea, standing to the side, did the same, her arms wrapped around her chest, her body trembling slightly as she was enveloped in them.

Bondi also woke up late. He rubbed his eyes and, reminded by Aiden and Galatea, wrapped himself in the lifebuoy as well.

As for the others, they were not near Aiden; only a few blurry figures could be seen in the distance, also busy at work.

Just then, the entire wizard ship suddenly shuddered, its hull rocking violently, and things on the deck fell off one after another.

Aiden was so shaken that he vomited and had diarrhea. His face was as pale as paper, his mouth was wide open, and vomit splattered on the inside of the lifebuoy.

He looked out through the transparent lifebuoy with a look of horror.

A huge tear was ripped open in the light membrane outside the wizard ship, and a massive, multicolored sphere, like the sun, swept towards the wizard ship with immense force, compressing the air and filling it with a burnt smell.

"Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit!" Aiden's eyes widened as he shouted at the top of his lungs, pounding his fists against the inside of the lifebuoy.

He felt like he was suffocating, his heart pounding wildly in his chest.

At the same time, several figures appeared in the captain's cabin at the bow of the wizard ship, quickly blocking the large sphere.

A ring of light appeared on the wands of these figures, flickering like a solid barrier.

"Are these first-ring wizards? Can a first-ring wizard stop this giant sphere?" Aiden muttered to himself, his mouth slightly open, his hands clenched into fists.

Unfortunately, in an instant, the giant sphere rushed over with overwhelming force, and those figures were engulfed by it.

"We're doomed."

Aiden pursed his lips and said in despair, his body slumped inside the lifebuoy.

He couldn't sense anything anymore.

……

Aiden was awakened by the blinding light. He frowned, rubbed his eyes, and moved his body, waking up.

"Where am I?" Aiden's voice was weak. After regaining consciousness, he immediately got up and saw a vast ocean all around him, with waves surging in one after another.

The bright sky hung high, like a giant blue curtain.

"I've arrived in the wizarding world!" Aiden's eyes widened and his mouth gaped open enough to fit an egg.

"I survived!" Aiden continued, waving his arm vigorously as he spoke.

Aiden looked around and found himself on the deck of a medium-sized ship, where dozens of people were lying, some still unconscious and others already awake.

However, this ship was quite ordinary compared to the wizard ship he had been on before. The hull was old and the sails had several holes.

"Where are Galatea and Bondi? Damn it." Aiden muttered, his brow furrowed, as he looked around the crowd.

Aiden quickly realized that none of these people were familiar to him.

He sighed in disappointment and plopped down on the deck.

Soon, a middle-aged man in a brown robe walked up to Aiden with a faint smile on his face and tossed a bag of water to Aiden.

"You woke up quite quickly, are you from the continent of Aurelius?" the middle-aged man asked Aiden in a gentle voice.

Aiden felt a chill run down his spine when he saw the man's calm expression.

"Yes, sir, I am Aiden from the continent of Oreria," Aiden confessed honestly, picking up the water bag, unscrewing it, and taking a sip.

He could tell that the middle-aged man in front of him didn't have any malicious intent.

"I really miss those days. 1300 years ago, everyone called me Sir Richard." The middle-aged man said, his hands behind his back, looking up with a nostalgic expression.

More than a thousand years ago, he was also a wizarding seed who left his hometown to study in the wizarding world. Now, he is no longer the boy he once was.

Aiden was taken aback, his mouth slightly agape. He thought to himself that the middle-aged man in front of him had actually lived for 1300 years and might be a real wizard!

Aiden stood up politely, bowed slightly, and said respectfully, "Lord Richard."

"Hmm." The middle-aged man nodded, a satisfied smile on his face.

Then the middle-aged man suddenly turned around and waved his arms at a speed that Aiden couldn't comprehend.

His wand danced rapidly, its tip shimmering with a faint light, and the surrounding air seemed to tremble with each swing.

Then, water spheres appeared out of thin air, striking the faces of the lying wizard apprentices like cannonballs, splashing water everywhere and stinging their faces.

"Who hit me?" An apprentice covered his face and sat up abruptly from the ground. His face was covered in water stains, and his hair was wet and stuck to his face.

"Huh, I'm not dead." Another apprentice opened his eyes, looked at the familiar yet unfamiliar scene around him, and showed a look of relief at surviving a disaster.

When everyone woke up, some rubbed their eyes, some shook their heads, and they were all surprised that they had survived.
