The Wizard: Starting with Infinite Part-Time Jobs

Chapter 94 The Power of the Gravity Arrow, The Clash of Ideas

The arrow pierced his forehead, traveled down his head and into his body, finally emerging between his legs.

"How is this possible?" the man screamed, his face frozen in terror, his body stiffened, and he died on the spot.

Its body, along with the magic broom, began to fall into the forest below.

The branches snapped and crackled, and leaves fluttered down.

Just a few seconds after he fell, a figure flashed by like a ghost, grabbed his corpse, and swiftly retrieved some resources from his robes.

The movements were swift and agile, without the slightest hesitation.

"That's a pretty good move, an arrow technique that falls from the sky. I've also developed this gravity arrow technique." The figure was Aiden, who clapped his hands with a satisfied smile on his face.

"Even a high-ranking wizard apprentice wouldn't fare well with this attack, let alone you, kid." Aiden said expressionlessly, looking at the corpse in his hand, which looked like a rag doll. He flicked the corpse lightly with his fingers. "We found nearly 100 magic stones, two wands, and some wind-attribute spellcasting materials, totaling 200 magic stones. Not bad."

Aiden weighed the resources in his hand, accepted them with a smile, and carefully put them into his storage bag.

"Since you Silent Blade people attacked right away, then I don't need to be polite either." Aiden looked at the misty area in front of him and said coldly, his expression becoming extremely stern, as if covered with a layer of frost.

After saying that, he inserted another magic stone into the magic broom, and his figure quickly disappeared into the mist.

……

Over the next two hours, Aiden encountered nearly ten wizard apprentices.

Apart from two people from Rune Courtyard, the rest were from the Silent Blade next door.

These silent blades were just like the guys who stopped Aiden at the beginning; they all had the posture of driving him away, some with their arms crossed and their faces full of arrogance.

Some waved their magic wands and shouted loudly.

They clearly don't want to share even a single piece of the pie with the Rune Courtyard.

only.

"This is the ninth one." Aiden sheathed his bow and arrow, his arm trembled, and the blood droplets on the arrow slid down the shaft and dripped onto the withered yellow leaves.

He muttered under his breath, squatted down, and quickly searched the corpse of the Silent Blade wizard apprentice with both hands, stripping the body bare.

"This guy is a pauper. He doesn't have a single magic stone on him, and he also owes the Silent Blade wizarding student loan."

Aiden frowned, looking at the document he had found in his hand. The handwriting on the paper was crooked and messy, as if it had been scratched out with claws. He shook his head in disgust.

"This guy owes more than 200 magic stones, and the interest isn't low either, it's compounding."

"The Rune Courtyard is still better; the atmosphere is much more relaxed there, though it's a bit weaker."

Aiden looked up and around. The trees stood tall, and the gray mist drifted slowly through the forest like gray ribbons.

The two people from Rune Courtyard he had encountered earlier were sitting on magic brooms, gripping the broom handles tightly with both hands, their faces pale, desperately trying to escape, being chased and beaten by the Silent Blade wizard apprentice.

The silent blade wizard apprentices rode on broomsticks, chanting spells, but their attacks were all dodged.

"Sitting on a high-speed moving tool like a magic broom greatly reduces the accuracy of my spells, not to mention the surrounding forest and gray fog," Aiden muttered to himself.

He discovered that the wizard's aiming problem was indeed much more complicated than he had imagined.

After all, in real combat, the opponent can't stand still and let you aim.

"This is where the archer's role comes into full play. Especially in complex terrain, gravity arrows are extremely effective." Aiden drew an arrow from his quiver, played with it in his hand, and continued.

"However, I still can't be careless. After all, the opponents I'm facing now are completely unprotected, with wide-open defenses, and I can easily kill them with a sneak attack." Aiden put the arrow back into the quiver, patted it hard, and emphasized.

Aiden continued riding his magic broom. He took a magic stone out of his pocket and put it into the broom's energy bar. With a "hum," the broom emitted a low rumble and continued to move forward.

The surrounding gray mist was blown to both sides by the airflow stirred up by the magic broom.

……

Before long, several figures riding on magic brooms appeared ahead.

A thick gray fog surrounded them, making their outlines barely visible; they appeared to be in a standoff.

Aiden saw several familiar figures inside, such as his senior sister Annie, who was riding on a broom, her body ramrod straight.

The fat wizard Sig's belly rose and fell with the movement of his broom.

The skinny wizard Anlie clung tightly to the broom.

Opposite them rode a group of wizard apprentices, all dressed as members of the Silent Blade from next door.

More importantly, both sides pulled out their wands, the tips of which shimmered with different colors of light, and pointed them at each other, as if they were ready to unleash witchcraft at the slightest provocation.

The surrounding air seemed to freeze in the tense atmosphere, and the gray fog stopped drifting.

Aiden watched silently, his arms crossed over his chest, his body swaying slightly with the movement of the broom.

"Bion, what do you mean?" Anne's pretty face turned pale with anger as she gripped her wand tightly.

Opposite him was a wizard apprentice with a lizard tail protruding from his back, swaying from side to side with his movements, which looked quite eerie.

"It's nothing. It's just that your Rune Courtyard doesn't have permission to enter this area. We'll give you a little something after we've explored it all," Bion said, shaking his head and wagging his tail.

"Why should I get to drink the soup?" Annie shouted.

"According to the laws established by the Wizarding Council, we also have the right to explore," the fat wizard Sig said righteously, puffing out his belly and the fat on his face jiggling as he spoke.

"Shut up, you fatso. In this world, you prove your worth through your abilities. You weaklings who won't even do bloodline transplants. Your Ancient Research School is a bunch of conservative fools, wasting your energy. You're a bunch of parasites who don't keep up with the times," a wizard from the Silent Blade said bluntly.

His eyes had been replaced with the compound eyes of a fly, with countless tiny pupils staring intently at the people in the rune courtyard, sending chills down their spines.

The Silent Blade adheres to the mainstream bloodline school, and from mid-level wizard apprentices onward, they attempt to transplant suitable biological organs into their bodies, which can greatly enhance their combat power.

The wizard apprentices at Rune Courtyard, however, have a slightly weaker competitive drive and most of them don't transplant organs into their bodies.

"Damn it, I hate it when people call me fatso the most. You just wait, I'll teach you runes." The fat wizard Sig was so angry that his teeth itched. He clenched his fists, and the veins on his arms bulged.

Soon, the two sides started arguing again, not only about the right to explore, but also about their respective ideologies.

They talked back and forth, their spittle flying everywhere.
