Just as Shi Geng was sighing, the convoy had already driven into the supply warehouse. The people from the supply department were already waiting there, and their eyes lit up instantly when they saw the supplies on the transport vehicles.

The mission to the ground is extremely dangerous. Usually, it is considered a blessing if the hunters can bring back a small amount of supplies safely. Such a large harvest is extremely rare. Roughly estimated, these supplies are enough for the lighthouse to operate stably for several months.

The dust people who were carrying supplies around froze in their tracks, looking at the upper-class person as if he were a fool who was courting death.

The crowd of mortals whispered amongst themselves, their voices filled with schadenfreude.

They had personally witnessed 4066 single-handedly charging into the Devouring Beast horde and slaughtering them like mowing grass. This person dared to provoke him; he was simply asking for trouble.

Shi Geng slowly raised his eyes, his gaze as cold as ice: "It's none of your business."

"None of my business?"

The upper-class citizen seemed to have heard the biggest joke in the world, and shouted angrily, "All supplies and everything in this Lighthouse are under the Lighthouse's management! You, a mere mortal, taking unidentified items is a violation of the Lighthouse's laws! Hand them over!"

As he spoke, he stepped forward and reached out to press hard on Shi Geng's shoulder.

But as soon as he stretched out his wrist, it was firmly grabbed by another hand.

"You must be Dustman 4066," Dr. Carrie said directly, her tone leaving no room for refusal. "Please come with us."

Her eyes behind her glasses were fixed on Shi Geng, her gaze burning with an almost frenzied intensity, as if she were examining a flawless, unique, and rare specimen, her greed and desire surging undisguisedly.

Shi Geng stopped in his tracks, looked up at Dr. Jia Li, his expression calm and unwavering.

Dr. Carrie stepped forward, blocking Shi Geng's path, her gaze sweeping over him, her eyes practically overflowing with fanaticism.

She had seen the report of this ground mission through some channel. It was about killing the Devouring Beast head-on with flesh and blood, and even without being hurt... This was simply the most perfect research material bestowed upon the Lighthouse by heaven.

The researchers behind her also showed excitement, their record boards and testing instruments ready to be used.

Shi Geng looked at the group of people in front of him who were treating him as an experimental subject, and a cold smile appeared on his lips.

"Go with you? No interest."

Dr. Carrie's smile faltered slightly, clearly not expecting a mortal to dare to refuse her so directly.

She pushed up her glasses, her tone turning cold and tinged with a hint of threat: "4066, I'm not asking for your opinion, this is an order. As a citizen of the Lighthouse, you must unconditionally accept the Lighthouse's arrangements."
