Just as the two sides were deadlocked and the atmosphere was extremely tense, a series of neat and heavy footsteps came from the end of the passage.

Personnel from the Discipline Center, dressed in solemn uniforms and carrying weapons, quickly arrived, led by the alluring and aloof Vatican, the Lightbringer.

"Dr. Carrie, Captain Mark."

Vatican stared intently at Shi Gen, his tone gentle, "His Majesty has ordered that Dustman 4066 has behaved abnormally during ground operations, suspected of violating the laws of the Lighthouse, and is to be immediately brought back to the Discipline Center for investigation and punishment."

She approached slowly, and as she swayed, a cold and stern aura instantly spread out.

Dr. Carrie frowned, a hint of displeasure and surprise flashing across her face. She had planned everything meticulously, but she hadn't expected the disciplinary office to interfere, directly labeling him a lawbreaker and clearly trying to seize control of Shi Geng first.

Mark's face turned ashen; he never expected that the people from the juvenile detention center would interfere.

He glanced back at Shi Heng, catching a hint of impatience and coldness in the other's eyes. His expression immediately changed, and he said in a deep voice, "Which law of the Lighthouse did 4066 violate that requires your Discipline Center to make such a fuss?"

The Lightbringer Vatican turned his head slightly and glanced at Mark: "Captain Mark, Article 37 of the Lighthouse Law states that no Dustman may possess prohibited substances on the ground."

Her gaze shifted, landing directly on Shi Geng, her expression scrutinizing and intimidating: "Someone just reported that this mortal is possessing contraband from the Old World and openly defying the upper class, which is suspected of violating the Lighthouse Law."

After a pause, Vatican pressed on, "What, Captain Mark, are you questioning the laws of the Lighthouse, or are you protecting a mortal who has broken the law?"

The surrounding disciples simultaneously took half a step forward, their energy rods glowing slightly, and the atmosphere instantly became extremely tense.

Mark clenched his fists, unable to refute for a moment.

He knew very well that the monastic community was always willing to find a pretext to accuse someone, and if he continued to pursue the matter, he would only be accused of contempt for the law.

Shi Geng, however, simply stared coldly at Fan Di, a sneer curling at the corner of his mouth.

The rules of the lighthouse don't apply to him; if pushed too far, he wouldn't mind tearing down the entire lighthouse.

Mark gritted his teeth, about to argue again, when Shi Geng slowly walked out from behind him.

There was no fear whatsoever, only indifference.

Vatican's gaze fell on him, a playful smile playing on her lips: "Come with us."

"Vanti, right?"

Shi Geng spoke calmly, his voice not loud, but clearly carried throughout the entire warehouse, "Go back and tell that idiot Charles that he better not mess with me, otherwise, I don't mind sending him to see the Lord of Light and Shadow."

He looked up, his gaze suddenly turning icy and chilling: "Don't force me to take action."

These outrageous words caused an instant silence to fall over the entire room.

Even the dust people carrying supplies were so frightened that they held their breath. A mere dust person dared to insult Charles, the leader of the Light and Shadow Society, and even wanted to smash up the Light and Shadow Society... This was simply unheard of in the history of the Lighthouse.

Vatican trembled slightly with rage, his face frosty, and he snapped, "Insolence! How dare you publicly insult the Head of the Association!"

She suddenly waved her hand, and the staff of the discipline center behind her shouted in unison. At the same time, the energy sticks lit up with a dazzling blue light, instantly surrounding Shi Gen.

"Take them down! Those who resist will be executed according to the laws of the Lighthouse!"

Several energy rods, accompanied by a sharp whistling sound, aimed directly at Shi Geng's vital points.

Mark's expression changed drastically. He was about to rush forward to stop him when he saw Shi Geng's figure shift slightly to the side like a ghost.

The next moment, a series of crisp cracking sounds and muffled thuds rang out.

In the blink of an eye, the disciplined personnel who had surrounded them were sent flying like kites with broken strings, crashing heavily against the steel walls of the warehouse and losing consciousness on the spot.

Shi Geng remained standing in the same spot, his clothes not even fluttering.

He looked up at Vatican, his tone indifferent, yet his words were as cold as ice: "I've already given you the chance."

Vatican's face darkened completely.

As Charles's confidant, no other mortal in the Lighthouse had ever dared to so brazenly defy the Discipline Council, let alone openly threaten the Headmaster.

In her eyes, no matter how strong Shi Geng was, he was just a strange mortal. His so-called strength was nothing more than a mortal body in the face of the Lighthouse's weapons. No matter how much he struggled, he was just a fish on a chopping board.

"Blatantly violating the Lighthouse Law and assaulting law enforcement officers, 4066, you have seriously threatened the order of the Lighthouse and are to be executed immediately!"

Fanti suddenly drew his long whip, the tip pointing directly at Shi Gen. Behind him, a group of members of the Discipline Center raised their guns, and the cold muzzles instantly surrounded him, killing him instantly.

Shi Geng stood still, not even lifting his eyelids, as if what was pointed at him was nothing more than a few fire pokers.

"Stop! Vatican! What do you think you're doing?! Put down your weapons!"

Mark's face was grim as he stepped in front of Shi Geng, his aura chilling. Ran Bing and the others immediately followed, drawing their guns and confronting the people from the Discipline Center. A standoff was imminent.

Shi Geng not only possesses unfathomable strength, but also holds the key method to completely kill the Devouring Beast. His importance to the Lighthouse today is self-evident.

Mark would never allow the people at the juvenile detention center to run rampant. If a conflict were to break out here, it would be an irreparable catastrophe for the entire Lighthouse.

Seeing the hunter so protective of a mere mortal, Vatican's face turned ashen. He shouted angrily, "Captain Mark! This is the Discipline Hall enforcing the law! How dare you openly obstruct it?! This man has attacked and killed a law enforcer; the evidence is irrefutable, and he deserves to die!"

"Laws?" Mark glanced back at Shi Geng, who stood behind him with an indifferent expression, then turned back to look at him with icy eyes. "The laws of the Lighthouse are meant to protect the survival of humanity, not for you to indiscriminately kill those who are vital to the Lighthouse."

He took a step forward, his aura of a hunter spreading out undisguisedly: "In the entire Lighthouse, no one is more important than him. With me here today, none of you will be able to touch him."

Ran Bing and the others immediately stepped forward, slightly raising their guns, and confronted the armed personnel from the discipline center. Their breaths clashed, and the air almost froze.

On one side is the hunter captain who wields real power and enjoys the trust of the people, and on the other side is the high-ranking law enforcer.

Vatican trembled with rage, his grip on the whip cracking as he roared, "Mark! You're protecting a serious criminal, openly defying the laws of the entire Lighthouse!"

Mark remained unmoved, standing in front of them, and none of the hunters beside him retreated.

Just as the standoff was about to erupt, the crisp sound of high heels approached from afar. Everyone turned to look, and saw a figure in a smart suit walking with elegant and steady steps.

The visitor was none other than Jingnan, the chief commander of the lighthouse control room.

"Wow, it's quite lively here."

Jing Nan glanced indifferently at the two opposing sides, his gaze finally settling on Shi Geng, who was being protected by the hunters. He said calmly, "Lord Morgan has ordered me to take 4066 to see him. Mark, along with your adjutant, will accompany him."
