You are a cat demon

The sounds overhead were incessant.

You don't know the other party's true intentions. The fact that it's making so much noise means that it's either incredibly stupid or bluffing, trying to put you on edge. If you don't want to be at a disadvantage, you must take the initiative, but you're in the open while it's in the shadows. It can see through any of your actions.

You have to find a way to trick it out.

You suddenly accelerate and pounce into the bushes as if you've spotted prey. You grab a piece of dead wood about your size and tear and bite at it, making the whole bush rustle like a hunting ground. You and your so-called "prey" are engaged in a life-or-death struggle, with you occasionally letting out threatening growls from deep in your throat.

You feel that your performance is flawless.

This "battle" may seem intense, but your attention is actually entirely focused on the guy in the tree.

Gnawing on hard, dry wood can be a bit unpleasant, leaving your mouth full of wood chips with every bite. Although you might sometimes use granite to sharpen your teeth, you'd still prefer to use your claws to tear open the hide of your real prey.

Feeling that it was about time, you slowed down your movements and made less noise, as if this "battle" was finally coming to an end. You listened carefully, and sure enough, you heard a soft thud from not far away. That guy had indeed been tricked into coming down.

You deliberately make loud chewing sounds, subtly tensing all the muscles in your body.

Upon hearing the whooshing sound, you immediately leaped, assuming the creature would turn to retrieve your abandoned "prey" after you fled, allowing you to launch a surprise attack while it stared blankly at the dead tree. However, things didn't go as planned. The instant you jumped, you felt a chill run down your spine, every hair on your body stood on end, and your sixth sense told you: Don't turn back!

You made another lunge forward, jumping even further, and only then did you dare to look back.

Standing right where you should have first landed was a cat demon, also male, a little bigger than you, with grayish-yellow fur. One of its eyes had turned a lifeless grayish-white, whether from being hit by snake venom or paying the price for fighting with its own kind. At this moment, a hint of mockery flickered in its remaining eye, as if it were mocking your childish tricks.

You then realized you had made a silly mistake: you forgot that the other animal's nose wasn't malfunctioning; it could clearly tell whether there was prey nearby.

You've never met it before, so there's no need to question why it followed and attacked you. This world doesn't need rules; only the strong call the shots.

You quickly snapped out of it, arching your back and making your fur stand on end, even the fur on your tail. You tried to make yourself look stronger, but even so, you were still like a stunted little brother compared to the one-eyed cat demon in front of you. One look from the demon made your heart tremble. You had already lost in terms of momentum, but you had no way out.

The one-eyed cat demon pounced first, and it seemed another hunt had begun, with you now as the prey.

You pounced on it too.

You will show it through your actions that even if this is a battle with an obvious outcome, you will not be a cowardly chicken that offers its neck to be slaughtered. You will make it pay a heavy price, bite off one of its legs, or gouge out its remaining eye!
